One mod you should consider downloading for this is where the wall chargers and healing stations drop sick beats and remixes when interacting with them, highly recommended.
Honestly I really do like the HECU in this game, but i don't like how they look. They look to clean and modern compared to the old game, they don't have that 90's look to them

Before you started streaming half-life I almost forgot about the franchise, but watching you play all the games made me feel like as if I playing them for the first time again, making me love this franchise even more than before
This was my first half life game, didn’t play the original and went straight to hl2, haven’t found the want to go back and play the original but I can tell you that I felt like a kid again playing the half life franchise, only a couple games have enamored me like those 2 did

This game have my favorite soundtrack in the entire Half-Life games. Also, you should definitely play Black Mesa Blue Shift. Although unfinished, It is probably one the most well made mod out there. It has new soundtracks, new voice actors and characters, new sections and even entirely new puzzles not even seen in Black Mesa or Half-Life Blue Shift. 4/7 of the chapters had been finished and available to play. And the 5th chapter is almost finished.

They really did do a good job of replicating the classic hl1 experience of breaking literally every wooden box you see in the hopes that you'll find something interesting
Surface Tension is where the remake really shines. Most people say Xen, but IMO Xen overstays its welcome by about double. Very cool moments, just too long. Surface Tension feels like a fully realized version of what Valve wanted to do with HL1. It feels more chaotic and the fact of the Military losing and pulling out is conveyed more clearly than in HL1. Also, that opening battle with that song… first time in a long time that a game has made me abandon my cautious, careful approach to combat and just run in guns blazing. Felt awesome.
Ppl look fondly on Xen in this because it was bad in hl1 and they had to wait forever to have the levels added in black mesa and then they looked amazing
@rusi6219 I was very disappointed by Xen, because it doesn't look nearly as hostile and tense and alien as the original, it's not like, brutalist. And it was fun and clever at first, a damn sight more fun and tightly designed than 1998 Xen. And then it just drags on. And on. And on.
You really should bunnyhop backwards more. In source they fixed bunnyhopping by making yiu go slower after landing, but there is an oversight where if you do it backwards, you actually go faster than you ever originally could

You want to know something that concerns me? I sometimes think Gordon was walking dead the moment he started the Antimass Spectrometer. I suspect G-man keeps him in stasis due to the fact he now literally has a Half-Life, and if he were allowed to exist for a length of time he would die of deadly radiation poisoning, despite his suit.
I was on the Interloper chapter and I was playing with those grunt eggs and I got launched to a conveyor belt that normaly isn't accessible to the player!

I miss one thing about the 2012 version of Black Mesa, that one had the guards able to use both shotguns and MP5 very well, since the 2015 version the guards just shoot once and T-pose when equipping the mp5 and always try to have a distance before shooting enemies with the shotgun, it got downgraded.

There's a version where nothing goes wrong. Just a regular day at black mesa. You can roam free w/in the complex & around outside, incl. the freight yard. Ooh, AND pester everyone while you're visiting all the departments 😅
I don't know if you want to, but I think you should also react to the Half-Life soundtracks. (Unless you don't want to, in which case you don't have to, but I'd personally be interested in seeing that).
Another game you could play after Black Mesa is Entropy Zero and Entropy Zero 2. They are both free on steam and they are a fan made Half Life 2 game from the perspective of the Combine. The 2nd one is polished AF and its basically Half Life 3 at this point if Valve doesnt release it in the next 5 years.
Please please please after finishing Black Mesa play Entropy Zero 1 & 2 like you mentioned in the stream. They are absolute masterpieces (especially 2) and worth experiencing as a Half Life fan. E.Z. 1 is rather short and will be able to finish within 1 stream, but E.Z. 2 is like a full fledged game and the devs gave 110% of themselves into it.
Eli and Kleiner talking after the disaster is not new dialogue. The scientist fighting headcrabs and losing is not a new scene. These are things you missed in original Half-Life because you were distracted.

This remake is so awesome, played it 6 times till now. Sadly the Multiplayer is dead. I played a lot of old Half Life 1 Deathmatch in the early 2000s.
if only kelski watched "HL 1 but the ai is self aware" , he'd know all about ropes that help with traversing big pits
