I'm a US Army veteran (was in Germany when the wall fell) and combat veteran from the Gulf War. We listened to Metallica all the time after the war. I'm not into heavy metal, but the Fade to Black album spoke to me. I took many years of piano lessons. You've brought it all together for me. The band and songs are truly musical master pieces. I can't help but cry to hear your playing of their songs. It brings so many pieces of my life together. Thank you for touching me so profoundly. It is magical.

Most of the great Metal Songs out there are heavily influenced by Classical music. In fact, taking all of the studio processing and other electronic modifications out of those Metal Songs, and putting them onto a piano lets us know that Metal is not far at all from the Classical Music from hundreds of years ago.
In fact, I do argue that Metal Music of a high quality is our Modern Classical Music. Not to be confused with Neo-Classical Music.
So, it's not hard for me to see this master piece put to a piano. However, her performance reminds us not only of the skill these musicians have, but the fact that they really do know their stuff, and aren't just playing the same 3 chords.

To be honest, it was actually more beautiful than I expected. The vocal melodies sound beautifully expressive compared to the original version sung by James, which was one of his first attempts at actually singing and sounded a little awkward. The riffs, translated to piano, add to the emotional dramatism of the song and also sound great. Congratulations, really impressed me beyond just translating a song to piano.

Its strange. I am from Brazil, born and raised in a small town. But somehow when I listen to Gamazda, I don't feel like she is from such a different and distant country. I feel like she is one of my nearest friends in the time of high school. Gamazda manages to choose all those songs that we loved most, that we heared most, that made me begin with piano lessons. And through this, somehow, I feel like if she is really near of me and my friends. And the same goes to all the people here, from many different places, as if we are all a big community of friends, united by the miracle of music.

With this song, definitely know your left hand or the "coordination issue" part lol The more you play it, you'll catch on and won't even know your left hand is there, you shouldn't have to think or anticipate left hand in order to play the song. it's basically like playing on autopilot, the more you play it the more it becomes natural.

The poetical nature of this being played on a grand piano by a beautiful woman draws a good parallel that brings me to tears.
