Got a ps5, getting a series s in the next few days as part of a trade in deal with my ps4. Also have an OK pc that I play fps and strategy games on(1060) so I should be set for a while.
As a PS5 owner myself, I’d encourage primary PS4 owners to stick with the PS4 for the time being. PS5 is still in early software development. PS5 also has limited to no customization, limited library, & a VERY limited amount of exclusive games. The speeds, quality & experience are in fact amazing! However I do think you won’t gain much upgrading at this point. I’d wait a year or so for the PS4 owners.
I'm still not convinced by the ps5. Loading times and especially console noises don't bother me at all...it kinda feels natural to gaming for me and I never thought about it being an issue. The ps4 is such a great machine and I still got to finish so many games. No need for a ps5 at all at the moment
Yeah I also am not convinced with the ps5, mainly because I don’t think Sony exclusives interest me anymore, I still have so many exclusives that I have never finished. Only finished the uncharted series, last of us 1, until dawn and spider-man miles morales. I think I’m also not convinced on a ps5 is that pretty much all of my friends are on pc and Xbox therefore I mostly play there. A ps5 would only be an exclusives machine in which seems to have compelling sequels, I’ll just have to complete the dozen of prequels first.

I have the ps5 and its amazing, dont regret every scent, so good. So many new systrm functions, the ones that came fr ps4 had been improved, games are now playable on 60-120fps at 4-8k, graphics are greatly better and games feel like whole different games. If youre looking to buy it, all i can say is do it.
Graphics has peaked 😲 since ps4 !! On the real, like he said it's only performance jump, and from gameplay footage on ps5..its only minor difference..software support for ps4 is going to continue from cross-gen until 2023. Plenty of life on ps4. Even ps4 has 60fps on some games. What would impressive me eager to get a ps5 is 120fps and the overhyped ray-tracing. 2025 is when I get a ps5 slim/original.
Ps4 graphics peaked at ghosts of tsushima which looks great. Just sounds like an airplane in the room with fans maxed out. Also still looks better on a ps5 just because of the bump in resolutions aswell as framerates

Factors include price for said system/accessories, games personal taste/preferred genres, friends on the system/multiplayer games they play etc. The games that sold me on the PS4 where Spider-Man, God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn These franchises I were new to except Spiderman and the narrative focus was a compelling reason to get a PS4. It isn't too much of a shock to me that the new GoW and Horizon Forbidden West are going to be available on PS4 but the fact that features will be cut out is very annoying the games will play better and actually live up to their initial vision if they where on the PS5. But the company has to make money and of course they'd release it on a system where the most of the playerbase is. At the moment for me there's no real reason to buy a PS5 I want one but there is no real need. I want one because I went with Xbox last generation but the offerings are slim for both. However if the PS5 offered the GoW and Horizon in the same way they did for Spider-Man giving you both the new game the sequel as well as the original game remastered with DLC then for me and people in my position there is an incentive to buy the £70 or whatever ££ addition rather than getting the PS4 version and the free upgrade and therefore buying a PS5.
Ps4 owners. We are not missing out on ANYthing... other than the hope of playing better games 1 or 2 years from now when developers really create the games for it.

Same, I have both the pro and the 5 but I was still using my 4 for Hulu, Netflix and things like that. I stopped playing games on it and moved all my games to the 5. I haven’t downloaded any media except Spotify on the 5. So I still use both. Ps4 pro for movies and tv, ps5 for gaming
I got a ps5 at launch and took the ps4 away on holiday mostly for Netflix in the evening. When trying to boot a game up it took so long I thought it had crashed! Forgot how bad that is
@@TheDarknight7000 well I still have a ps vita and still use the remote play from my Pro to the vita so that’s a major reason for me to keep my pro. The remote play on the the 5 is useless. All my consoles sit right next to each other so there’s no point in remotely play from the 5 to the 4 for me.

I have both a PS4 pro and PS5. I love my PS5. Also I’m sure someone already said this but the new Ratchet and clank game is a PS5 exclusive. I don’t think the rift thing would work on the PS4. But great video as always keep it up
I was lucky to get a PS5 about a month ago and I’m so glad I did. I have still been using it mostly to play PS4 games but I love it. In addition to the things you discussed here, I also like that the Wi-Fi card in the PS5 is an upgrade over the PS4’s card. When I stream gameplay on PlayStation Now the experience is much better than it was on the PS4.
@@DaHellCZ Oh yes there is. I have both and totally worth the upgrade if you can find one at MSRP. Takes less than 30 seconds from turning on console to web slinging in Miles Morales on the PS5. Also 60 FPS across the board.

I think they will. PS4 folders also came at a later date. When I got my PS5 it felt like Sony was starting fresh with their UI again, slowly adding things over time. Theory already proven correct once with their last major PS5 update, let's see if it continues

Ive had my ps5 for almost a week now and its 100% worth it even tho i havent used it much since finals are coming up but by the start of next month im playing the hell out of it baby!😎
Lowkey I think my favorite part of having a PS5 is just having the speed of the UI. Super quick to jump into games, and the reduced loading screens are a must and everytime I go back to ps4 its just a bother.
I got about 10 ps5's over the different restocks and given them to friends and their coworkers that had trouble getting their hands on them. They are all overjoyed to get them and told me when I was considering getting into console gaming to go for the ps5, so I kept one for myself and have only 2-3 games so far but overall seems like a great gaming experience with it.
My younger brother just graduated with his BA I was trying to get him one for a Xmas/graduation gift but they were sold out everywhere and on craigslist they were 2 times the original price so I ended up getting him a signed Tim Brown raiders jersey I got at a charity event and got a nice case for it. If so we are going to have to receive official black accessories. I personally don't mind the new colour scheme. I get customisation and self expression but you can't go wrong with what they initially offered us. I personally like the white design it's futuristic yet modern and it matches the corresponding accessories I've mostly gotten black/grey consoles (except the One S/Wii) so it's a nice change however If it starts to yellow then they'll be problems. I'm still surprised we haven't seen any PS5s available in different colours we just got two new controllers but I think it's due to them trying to create official custom faceplates they'd be no real reason to make entirely different consoles since the faceplates are so interchangeable I don't think we'll even see special editions. They also did threaten to sue companies offering a similar product and custom controllers so they already in development I guess. Speaking of different consoles I doubt that they'll even be a Pro model it's already capable of so much I can see a slim possibly a super slim but that's it. All in all to each their own...

Very hard to get, but very possible to get. You've gotta stay in the know about when they're gonna be in stock and you've gotta be able to spam an add to cart button before they go out of stock. I don't know that they'll be easy to get your hands on in the next year or two. There are so many scalpers making a profit because they know they can get away with it. DON'T BUY FROM SCALPERS. let them learn the hard way not to take advantage of a crappy situation.

I got mine at launch by buying direct from Sony. When I woke up in Australia the news had already dropped that morning and all the Australian retailers were sold out for pre-orders. I thought if I try direct through Sony it's more likely they will issue their stock before selling on to retailers because they'll keep the full profit. So if you do have the money to get one I suggest to keep an eye out on the Sony store in your area.
I think you summed up this one pretty good! I got my PS5 a few weeks after the catastrophic launch over here in Norway 😂 Ruined by bots and scalpers alike. However, I got lucky and also got one in time for Christmas to my nephews! The past month I managed to get two more units for a couple of friends, and thus I’m the official PlayStation God now it seems 😂👌🏻 Needless to say, they’re a happy bunch!
I’d say if you own a base ps4 it’s definitely worth the upgrade. I’m really happy with the performance, frame rate. Faster download times. If your interested in any of the exclusives that are it, it may be worth it. Everything I’ve played so far has been great
Very true I have a ps4 from like 2015, not a pro or anything just the base and my god it SUCKS!!! I mean, it was great until about the past year, I have to turn minecraft settings all the way down and do super low render distance and frame rate would suffer in games like gta 5 when theres more than 15 people in the game, cod was crappy too. Spiderman ran pretty good. Just the old hardware and stuff I suppose but the ps5 is incredible, no need to turn down graphic settings because my console is too old lol.

@@sanromanosqui yeah it's a huge upgrade, my friend has had his ps4 pro since 2017 and still uses it every day and says it runs big games (GTA V, cod, etc) pretty well still. But man that base ps4s hardware is just too old, games are too demanding for it anymore...

I own both new consoles, ps5 and xbox series x. Both amazing consoles, BUT, the ps5 is the one that says “next gen” all over the place. Besides I think that, as for NOW, demon soul is the first game I ever played that makes me think “on yea, THIS is a next gen game”
I only have a PS3. I still love playing games on it but still waiting to get my hands on a PS5. I guess 2023 will be when they come available in retail stores.
They need to bring communities back. I was shocked when I couldn't find mines and had lots of content and memoirs on there. And always used it to find friends.
I was able to buy a PS5 back in Feb and man...what a beast of console. At first I did not see a huge improvement but once I was able to get my hands on PS5 games and remastered games that's when it really shined.
I think the PS4 Pro has definitely been downplayed by marketing (I mean they have to sell the ps5 I get it) , IT STILL IS a powerful console. People forget it's able to handle: RE7/RE:Village & Silent Hills PT. There's no need to upgrade until mid 2023 - 2024. Upgrade the PS4 Pro SSD and you're good to go.
I was lucky and managed to get a disc version of the ps5 launch day. I went with the disc version to even though I usually buy digital, but I've gotten games like Deathloop, Riders Republic, for 15$ but only on disc. Plus it has the best blu Ray player I've ever used. You should've pointed out that you really need to upgrade your TV first. You need HDMI 2.1 for any game to play at 120fps. I also still have my OG ps4, which I never use anymore, I just plugged a 4tb external into my ps5. I am going to sell my ps4, I have zero use for it and it has a custom 2tb hdd that I put in. Get a PS5 if you have a HDMi 2.1 TV/Monitor. This is what will make the upgrade make total sense. Otherwise any 4K HDR 60hz TV with a PS4 Pro is absolutely sufficient for now. I actually bought a PS5 just to get Oddworld Soulstorm (my favourite franchise of all time) as a PS+ exclusive for free and once I completed it I sold it and went back to my PS4 Pro lol due to my 4K 60hz monitor. Now I have a 4K 120hz 43" Monitor perhaps I'll buy a PS5 again in the future. I'm also a fellow 500M PS4 Pro user 👊 Great video as always 💯

I'm happy with my PS4 Pro and Xbox X combo. PS4 for exclusives, Xbox for gamepass and since it's more powerful, should work better with most games. Also got my Switch as an indie on the go machine.
If you go back and look at what the ps2 had on launch, you'll realize the ps5 content drought isn't too bad. However, what's more concerning is that usually we would of gotten a lot of big announcements at e3 from Sony and we didn't get that. So I expect the drought to last at least two more years, so you might as well wait before picking one up.
I have both the PS4 & 5, and I agree the 5 is better kinda all around. I think the change Sony made to the messaging system is less intuitive than it was on the 4 though

I own a ps4 pro and installed a 2tb ssd drive into it and it made a significant difference over the hhd, everything is faster so I feel rn since there isn't many major titles I see no reason to upgrade yet, i like the user interface and it feels comfortable

This year I upgraded to a ps4 pro because I still had my launch ps4 I got back in 2014. I really hoped to stick it out and get a ps5 but of course getting one is easier said than done. I just chose to get a ps4 pro because my base ps4 was struggling to keep up many of the massive AAA games in my library. Yeh it could play them but I would have a lot of performance lag (sometimes input lag) when I’d play Borderlands 3 or Control. All at 30fps 1080p and my jet engine fan would continue to go off no mater what I was playing. But as soon as I got a ps4 pro I could actually use the “preformance” mode as it was intended for those games! 60fps with HDR support! It was running smooth like butter and my fan never got too loud! :) Can it play in 4k? Yeh but that means dropping to 30fps and honestly once you play games in 60fps your never gonna wanna go back! The 1080p HDR support was more than enough and honestly unless your tv support it, it’s very hard to notice the difference in quality when jumping to 4k. My advice is if you still have a ps4 pro, keep it! It should be just fine even as games get more and more advanced and performance intensive. The fan noise can still be an issue. Yet, if you stick with 60fps on ps4 pro you should be just fine for next gen games! Edit: In my experience the fan gets the loudest when playing Resident Evil Village on the pause menu, for whatever reasons. Seriously, you’d think it would be during gameplay but nope! It’s when the game is paused with nothing happening on screen is when it’s the most performance intensive! Like wtf??!
I'm waiting for the PS5 Mini. The library has to grow much larger, the unit has to get much smaller and much better looking. The controller issue has to get thoroughly sorted out and the console has to be readily available. I also have to have a proper 2.1 4K TV. All these things will take another three years, till then the Xbox Series S with Game Pass is the way to go, I know crazy right?
I currently have neither, though I'm going to be getting a PS4 Pro in a few weeks. I would get the PS5, but it's just too expensive for me (as I much prefer physical games) and the PS4 Pro can do pretty much everything I could wish for. Considering I stuck with a PS3 for this long, I don't think I desperately need a PS5 lol.
5:45 - On PS4, I didn't really like/comment when i saw one of my friends do something. However, I did love to see what my friends were doing/playing/progressing. More than once, I'd buy/start playing a game when I saw a friend is now playing it. It seems like the PS5 is a huge step back in terms of actual interactiveness with friends.....
Well for me it’s just the PS4 is my favorite console and the PS5 got so overhyped that damn near no one could grab any, not to mention the price. The PS5 is also mostly just your PS4 games enhanced like a mf, I can wait till a better looking model comes out or more games come out
I'm definitely getting the PS5 cause my current console is a day 1 PS4, which was the model with a twitchy eject button that I had to manually disable.
The controllers are also amazing, only time I don’t like the adaptive triggers is when I’m playing like a shooter for a while, cause for semi auto weapons spamming that trigger with the extra effort kills my trigger finger, especially when using it for a long time. But otherwise perfect
It's incredible how many people don't know why the PRO performance is so bad compared to the PS5 and also that it's being used as a selling point for PS5. The PRO is SATA III, yet it comes equipped with a SATA II hard drive, it doesn't wonder why so many people think the PS5 is mind-blowing when compared to the PRO, slap an SSD, as you said, and we can cut off loadings times to less than a half, more even depending on the games. This being said, I want a PS5 if and when I can find one...
@@joseferreira4683 yup, I actually skipped the pro due to it being underpowered compared to the one x at the time. Might just pick up a used pro, take it apart, clean it, apply some good thermal paste, and slap in an ssd. I was holding out for the PS5, but how things are looking, might as well see is a pro variant launches for the PS5. The way i see it, I’ve waited this long, might as well. Lol
@Balakeh LOL. I’ve known for quite some time. I just commented it, to maybe see if the guy could make another video of the load times with an ssd installed in the pro. When i had my one x, I installed a 1Tb western digital blue ssd into it, and made a night and day difference.
@Balakeh LOL, sarcasm aside, an SSD will make a PS4 PRO look like a whole new machine. For people that can't put their hands on a brand new PS5, they should consider simply upgrading their consoles with an SSD, even the old vanilla PS4's can benefit from it if using them externally via a USB port.
It’s been proven an SSD is a waste of money on a PS4 because it is not designed for it. The increase is minimal. You’re better off with a hybrid drive and it’s still a minimal improvement. But, at least you’re not wasting money on an SSD in a PS4.
I was able to get a Ps5 on launch day through Walmart’s 2nd wave of preorders. I remember the rest of my family struggling to secure one during the preorders, but my Walmart app just popped up with a Ps5 to preorder. Both of my brothers were so pressed, and I literally felt like I won the lottery 😂

As a PS5 owner myself, I’d encourage primary PS4 owners to stick with the PS4 for the time being. PS5 is still in early software development. PS5 also has limited to no customization, limited library, & a VERY limited amount of exclusive games. The speeds, quality & experience are in fact amazing! However I do think you won’t gain much upgrading at this point. I’d wait a year or so for the PS4 owners.

I'm still not convinced by the ps5. Loading times and especially console noises don't bother me at all...it kinda feels natural to gaming for me and I never thought about it being an issue. The ps4 is such a great machine and I still got to finish so many games. No need for a ps5 at all at the moment
Yeah I also am not convinced with the ps5, mainly because I don’t think Sony exclusives interest me anymore, I still have so many exclusives that I have never finished. Only finished the uncharted series, last of us 1, until dawn and spider-man miles morales. I think I’m also not convinced on a ps5 is that pretty much all of my friends are on pc and Xbox therefore I mostly play there. A ps5 would only be an exclusives machine in which seems to have compelling sequels, I’ll just have to complete the dozen of prequels first.

I have the ps5 and its amazing, dont regret every scent, so good. So many new systrm functions, the ones that came fr ps4 had been improved, games are now playable on 60-120fps at 4-8k, graphics are greatly better and games feel like whole different games. If youre looking to buy it, all i can say is do it.

Graphics has peaked 😲 since ps4 !! On the real, like he said it's only performance jump, and from gameplay footage on ps5..its only minor difference..software support for ps4 is going to continue from cross-gen until 2023. Plenty of life on ps4. Even ps4 has 60fps on some games. What would impressive me eager to get a ps5 is 120fps and the overhyped ray-tracing. 2025 is when I get a ps5 slim/original.
Ps4 graphics peaked at ghosts of tsushima which looks great. Just sounds like an airplane in the room with fans maxed out. Also still looks better on a ps5 just because of the bump in resolutions aswell as framerates

I'm torn between getting a PS4 (Slim model £250) or getting a PS5 (Digital £350) I have been thinking the same thing but it's only a £100 more to upgrade the PS5 but I agree with the lack of true exclusives diminishes any reason to buy a PS5 especially now. I went with Xbox last generation and want a taste of Sony but I don't know if it's going to be through the PS4 (most of my friends are saying to upgrade) or PS5. I've recently sold my Xbox one S in preparation for a Series S it cost £250 also so I'm still conflicted with what to get.
For me buying a new console depends on several factors to justify/warrant and pitch to my family in order to pursuade them to buy the new hardware. Factors include price for said system/accessories, games personal taste/preferred genres, friends on the system/multiplayer games they play etc.
The games that sold me on the PS4 where Spider-Man, God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn These franchises I were new to except Spiderman and the narrative focus was a compelling reason to get a PS4. It isn't too much of a shock to me that the new GoW and Horizon Forbidden West are going to be available on PS4 but the fact that features will be cut out is very annoying the games will play better and actually live up to their initial vision if they where on the PS5. But the company has to make money and of course they'd release it on a system where the most of the playerbase is. At the moment for me there's no real reason to buy a PS5 I want one but there is no real need. I want one because I went with Xbox last generation but the offerings are slim for both. However if the PS5 offered the GoW and Horizon in the same way they did for Spider-Man giving you both the new game the sequel as well as the original game remastered with DLC then for me and people in my position there is an incentive to buy the £70 or whatever ££ addition rather than getting the PS4 version and the free upgrade and therefore buying a PS5.
Ill upgrade when they come out with the ps5 pro in a few years. I dont mind the sound. Love my ps4 pro.

Same, I have both the pro and the 5 but I was still using my 4 for Hulu, Netflix and things like that. I stopped playing games on it and moved all my games to the 5. I haven’t downloaded any media except Spotify on the 5. So I still use both. Ps4 pro for movies and tv, ps5 for gaming

I got a ps5 at launch and took the ps4 away on holiday mostly for Netflix in the evening. When trying to boot a game up it took so long I thought it had crashed! Forgot how bad that is
@@TheDarknight7000 well I still have a ps vita and still use the remote play from my Pro to the vita so that’s a major reason for me to keep my pro. The remote play on the the 5 is useless. All my consoles sit right next to each other so there’s no point in remotely play from the 5 to the 4 for me.

I have both a PS4 pro and PS5. I love my PS5. Also I’m sure someone already said this but the new Ratchet and clank game is a PS5 exclusive. I don’t think the rift thing would work on the PS4. But great video as always keep it up
I was lucky to get a PS5 about a month ago and I’m so glad I did. I have still been using it mostly to play PS4 games but I love it. In addition to the things you discussed here, I also like that the Wi-Fi card in the PS5 is an upgrade over the PS4’s card. When I stream gameplay on PlayStation Now the experience is much better than it was on the PS4.
I have a 4TB SSD in my PS4 Pro, and it makes a HUGE difference! It's much faster and responsive compared to the stock HDD that came with it.

PS5 version of Borderlands 3 plays at 120fps and it looks great. Loading times are 3 times as fast so now I can actually farm for weapons faster.

I think they will. PS4 folders also came at a later date. When I got my PS5 it felt like Sony was starting fresh with their UI again, slowly adding things over time. Theory already proven correct once with their last major PS5 update, let's see if it continues

Lowkey I think my favorite part of having a PS5 is just having the speed of the UI. Super quick to jump into games, and the reduced loading screens are a must and everytime I go back to ps4 its just a bother.

I got about 10 ps5's over the different restocks and given them to friends and their coworkers that had trouble getting their hands on them. They are all overjoyed to get them and told me when I was considering getting into console gaming to go for the ps5, so I kept one for myself and have only 2-3 games so far but overall seems like a great gaming experience with it.

I get customisation and self expression but you can't go wrong with what they initially offered us. I personally like the white design it's futuristic yet modern and it matches the corresponding accessories I've mostly gotten black/grey consoles (except the One S/Wii) so it's a nice change however If it starts to yellow then they'll be problems. I'm still surprised we haven't seen any PS5s available in different colours we just got two new controllers but I think it's due to them trying to create official custom faceplates they'd be no real reason to make entirely different consoles since the faceplates are so interchangeable I don't think we'll even see special editions. They also did threaten to sue companies offering a similar product and custom controllers so they already in development I guess.
Speaking of different consoles I doubt that they'll even be a Pro model it's already capable of so much I can see a slim possibly a super slim but that's it.

Very hard to get, but very possible to get. You've gotta stay in the know about when they're gonna be in stock and you've gotta be able to spam an add to cart button before they go out of stock. I don't know that they'll be easy to get your hands on in the next year or two. There are so many scalpers making a profit because they know they can get away with it. DON'T BUY FROM SCALPERS. let them learn the hard way not to take advantage of a crappy situation.

I got mine at launch by buying direct from Sony.
When I woke up in Australia the news had already dropped that morning and all the Australian retailers were sold out for pre-orders. I thought if I try direct through Sony it's more likely they will issue their stock before selling on to retailers because they'll keep the full profit.
So if you do have the money to get one I suggest to keep an eye out on the Sony store in your area.
I got mine by asking to be put on a waiting list at a local GameStop. Got on the list the day they came out and got the system a couple of weeks later

I think you summed up this one pretty good! I got my PS5 a few weeks after the catastrophic launch over here in Norway 😂 Ruined by bots and scalpers alike. However, I got lucky and also got one in time for Christmas to my nephews! The past month I managed to get two more units for a couple of friends, and thus I’m the official PlayStation God now it seems 😂👌🏻 Needless to say, they’re a happy bunch!

I’d say if you own a base ps4 it’s definitely worth the upgrade. I’m really happy with the performance, frame rate. Faster download times. If your interested in any of the exclusives that are it, it may be worth it. Everything I’ve played so far has been great
Very true I have a ps4 from like 2015, not a pro or anything just the base and my god it SUCKS!!! I mean, it was great until about the past year, I have to turn minecraft settings all the way down and do super low render distance and frame rate would suffer in games like gta 5 when theres more than 15 people in the game, cod was crappy too. Spiderman ran pretty good. Just the old hardware and stuff I suppose but the ps5 is incredible, no need to turn down graphic settings because my console is too old lol.

I own both new consoles, ps5 and xbox series x. Both amazing consoles, BUT, the ps5 is the one that says “next gen” all over the place. Besides I think that, as for NOW, demon soul is the first game I ever played that makes me think “on yea, THIS is a next gen game”

I think the PS4 Pro has definitely been downplayed by marketing (I mean they have to sell the ps5 I get it) , IT STILL IS a powerful console. People forget it's able to handle: RE7/RE:Village & Silent Hills PT. There's no need to upgrade until mid 2023 - 2024. Upgrade the PS4 Pro SSD and you're good to go.

About time right
I was lucky and managed to get a disc version of the ps5 launch day. I went with the disc version to even though I usually buy digital, but I've gotten games like Deathloop, Riders Republic, for 15$ but only on disc. Plus it has the best blu Ray player I've ever used. You should've pointed out that you really need to upgrade your TV first. You need HDMI 2.1 for any game to play at 120fps. I also still have my OG ps4, which I never use anymore, I just plugged a 4tb external into my ps5. I am going to sell my ps4, I have zero use for it and it has a custom 2tb hdd that I put in. Well I have one controller and never had issues, even with demanding games.
Get a PS5 if you have a HDMi 2.1 TV/Monitor. This is what will make the upgrade make total sense. Otherwise any 4K HDR 60hz TV with a PS4 Pro is absolutely sufficient for now.
I actually bought a PS5 just to get Oddworld Soulstorm (my favourite franchise of all time) as a PS+ exclusive for free and once I completed it I sold it and went back to my PS4 Pro lol due to my 4K 60hz monitor. Now I have a 4K 120hz 43" Monitor perhaps I'll buy a PS5 again in the future.

Is two weeks now since I got my PS5 and all I can say is worth it every penny. One thing that I miss tho from the PS4, is the option to use themes.
custom themes like the ps3 had is mostly what i miss and the ability to swap out the internal storage.
I know I'm the only person in the known galaxy, but I miss the XMB haha

I'm happy with my PS4 Pro and Xbox X combo. PS4 for exclusives, Xbox for gamepass and since it's more powerful, should work better with most games. Also got my Switch as an indie on the go machine.
If you go back and look at what the ps2 had on launch, you'll realize the ps5 content drought isn't too bad. However, what's more concerning is that usually we would of gotten a lot of big announcements at e3 from Sony and we didn't get that. So I expect the drought to last at least two more years, so you might as well wait before picking one up.
I have both the PS4 & 5, and I agree the 5 is better kinda all around. I think the change Sony made to the messaging system is less intuitive than it was on the 4 though

I own a ps4 pro and installed a 2tb ssd drive into it and it made a significant difference over the hhd, everything is faster so I feel rn since there isn't many major titles I see no reason to upgrade yet, i like the user interface and it feels comfortable

I'm torn between getting a PS4 (Slim model £250) or getting a PS5 (Digital £350) I have been thinking the same thing but it's only a £100 more to upgrade the PS5 but I agree with the lack of true exclusives diminishes any reason to buy a PS5 especially now. I went with Xbox last generation and want a taste of Sony but I don't know if it's going to be through the PS4 (most of my friends are saying to upgrade) or PS5. I've recently sold my Xbox one S in preparation for a Series S it cost £250 also so I'm still conflicted with what to get.
For me buying a new console depends on several factors to justify/warrant and pitch to my family in order to pursuade them to buy the new hardware. Factors include price for said system/accessories, games personal taste/preferred genres, friends on the system/multiplayer games they play etc.
The games that sold me on the PS4 where Spider-Man, God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn These franchises I were new to except Spiderman and the narrative focus was a compelling reason to get a PS4. It isn't too much of a shock to me that the new GoW and Horizon Forbidden West are going to be available on PS4 but the fact that features will be cut out is very annoying the games will play better and actually live up to their initial vision if they where on the PS5. But the company has to make money and of course they'd release it on a system where the most of the playerbase is. At the moment for me there's no real reason to buy a PS5 I want one but there is no real need. I want one because I went with Xbox last generation but the offerings are slim for both. However if the PS5 offered the GoW and Horizon in the same way they did for Spider-Man giving you both the new game the sequel as well as the original game remastered with DLC then for me and people in my position there is an incentive to buy the £70 or whatever ££ addition rather than getting the PS4 version and the free upgrade and therefore buying a PS5.

This year I upgraded to a ps4 pro because I still had my launch ps4 I got back in 2014.
I really hoped to stick it out and get a ps5 but of course getting one is easier said than done.
I just chose to get a ps4 pro because my base ps4 was struggling to keep up many of the massive AAA games in my library. Yeh it could play them but I would have a lot of performance lag (sometimes input lag) when I’d play Borderlands 3 or Control. All at 30fps 1080p and my jet engine fan would continue to go off no mater what I was playing.
But as soon as I got a ps4 pro I could actually use the “preformance” mode as it was intended for those games! 60fps with HDR support! It was running smooth like butter and my fan never got too loud! :)
Can it play in 4k? Yeh but that means dropping to 30fps and honestly once you play games in 60fps your never gonna wanna go back! The 1080p HDR support was more than enough and honestly unless your tv support it, it’s very hard to notice the difference in quality when jumping to 4k.
My advice is if you still have a ps4 pro, keep it!
It should be just fine even as games get more and more advanced and performance intensive.
The fan noise can still be an issue. Yet, if you stick with 60fps on ps4 pro you should be just fine for next gen games!
Edit: In my experience the fan gets the loudest when playing Resident Evil Village on the pause menu, for whatever reasons.
Seriously, you’d think it would be during gameplay but nope! It’s when the game is paused with nothing happening on screen is when it’s the most performance intensive! Like wtf??!

I'm waiting for the PS5 Mini. The library has to grow much larger, the unit has to get much smaller and much better looking. The controller issue has to get thoroughly sorted out and the console has to be readily available. I also have to have a proper 2.1 4K TV. All these things will take another three years, till then the Xbox Series S with Game Pass is the way to go, I know crazy right?

I currently have neither, though I'm going to be getting a PS4 Pro in a few weeks. I would get the PS5, but it's just too expensive for me (as I much prefer physical games) and the PS4 Pro can do pretty much everything I could wish for. Considering I stuck with a PS3 for this long, I don't think I desperately need a PS5 lol.

5:45 - On PS4, I didn't really like/comment when i saw one of my friends do something. However, I did love to see what my friends were doing/playing/progressing. More than once, I'd buy/start playing a game when I saw a friend is now playing it.
It seems like the PS5 is a huge step back in terms of actual interactiveness with friends.....

Well for me it’s just the PS4 is my favorite console and the PS5 got so overhyped that damn near no one could grab any, not to mention the price. The PS5 is also mostly just your PS4 games enhanced like a mf, I can wait till a better looking model comes out or more games come out

I'm definitely getting the PS5 cause my current console is a day 1 PS4, which was the model with a twitchy eject button that I had to manually disable.
The controllers are also amazing, only time I don’t like the adaptive triggers is when I’m playing like a shooter for a while, cause for semi auto weapons spamming that trigger with the extra effort kills my trigger finger, especially when using it for a long time. But otherwise perfect

Slap in an ssd into the pro, and the load times will decrease.
It's incredible how many people don't know why the PRO performance is so bad compared to the PS5 and also that it's being used as a selling point for PS5.
The PRO is SATA III, yet it comes equipped with a SATA II hard drive, it doesn't wonder why so many people think the PS5 is mind-blowing when compared to the PRO, slap an SSD, as you said, and we can cut off loadings times to less than a half, more even depending on the games.
This being said, I want a PS5 if and when I can find one...
@@joseferreira4683 yup, I actually skipped the pro due to it being underpowered compared to the one x at the time. Might just pick up a used pro, take it apart, clean it, apply some good thermal paste, and slap in an ssd. I was holding out for the PS5, but how things are looking, might as well see is a pro variant launches for the PS5. The way i see it, I’ve waited this long, might as well. Lol
@Balakeh LOL. I’ve known for quite some time. I just commented it, to maybe see if the guy could make another video of the load times with an ssd installed in the pro. When i had my one x, I installed a 1Tb western digital blue ssd into it, and made a night and day difference.
@Balakeh LOL, sarcasm aside, an SSD will make a PS4 PRO look like a whole new machine. For people that can't put their hands on a brand new PS5, they should consider simply upgrading their consoles with an SSD, even the old vanilla PS4's can benefit from it if using them externally via a USB port.
It’s been proven an SSD is a waste of money on a PS4 because it is not designed for it. The increase is minimal. You’re better off with a hybrid drive and it’s still a minimal improvement. But, at least you’re not wasting money on an SSD in a PS4.

I was able to get a Ps5 on launch day through Walmart’s 2nd wave of preorders. I remember the rest of my family struggling to secure one during the preorders, but my Walmart app just popped up with a Ps5 to preorder. Both of my brothers were so pressed, and I literally felt like I won the lottery 😂
