I love Gears Of War lore, you never know it completely
This DLC is one of my favourites historys of Gears saga.
Curiosities:
1) The Black Theron's name is: Elite Theron Guard, they are like the Ghost in military.
2) the boomers that are with Raam are "Elite Maulers", the maximum boomer class and personal Raam's bodyguards.
3) the boomer with the hammer is called "Tremor", they invoke sowers and Nemacyst.
4) this happens after Gears Jud and Tactics, before Gears 1.
3) every member of Zeta Squad dies.
. Alicia=killed by Raam (Gears 3:RS)
. Minh=Killed by Raam (Gears 1)
. Barrick=he sacrifice himself to save Jace and Marcus, he killed 2 drones with his own hands but a beast rider shoots him in the back, before Gears 2).
. Tai=Tortured by Skorge and he kills himself.
4) The Onix Guards (black CGO) are the personal body guards of the president, like secret service, they were strong as hell in Pendulum Wars but against the Locust they....SUCK a lot, they use them a lot and their number members go down after this DLC.
5) Now with this DLC you can understand Kim and Raam realationship in Gears 1.
6) This DLC it is ubicated in Ilima City, the City that 15 years later Skorge destroys with his Worm.
7) After Barrick's death, Jace kept his lighter.
8) this DLC completes the original Beast Riders Bosses.
Raam=Krill and Ink Reaver.
Skorge=Worm and Hydra
Myrrah=Tempest

@@BloodyS.V.C. more or less, after he escaped from Ilima, he was now a recruit and slowly the Team members were in another teams, Tai and Minh were like lieutenants in other teams, as an example Minh in gears 1 with the Delta Squad.
Barrick and Jace stayed together and met Marcus Fenix and Dom.
After Barrick's death he was now in another squad, the one you can see in Gears 2 in the underground and after Gears 2, he was now in Delta 1 Squad with Marcus, Dom, Anya, Sam, Baird, Cole and Clayton Carmine.
So, technicly, Jace is the only survivor, but all the ORIGINAL Zeta squad members died.

Really? I heard Jonathan Harper was going to be in this dlc but was replaced by Minh.

I just love the pure, enjoyment on his face actually playing the other side and seeing how crazy R.A.A.M was.. enjoy it Dee!
Also i kniw im late for this but theres a free dlc on gears 2 that is a deleted scene from the game of marcus and dom infiltrating nexus in stealth with theron guard armor
I would have loved to have had Anthony carmine in this, because it would show that kim and Anthony had been in squad together for awhile and why Kim was so shocked when he Anthony was shot
Also, Kim is a BADASS
Yeah that would be cool but I'm pretty sure the reason Kim was surprised when Anthony got shot was because Anthony was new at least by the looks of it because in gears two Ben didn't die from his gun getting jammed but he was also having trouble when he was new but that would still be cool though

I’m pretty sure originally this DLC was suppose to have Recruit Clayton Carmine in this as one of the playable characters but he was replaced

This DLC is absolutely brutal. The atrocity Raam represents is something out of a nightmare. It's a shame we don't see more of Michael Barrick but still I throughly enjoyed this DLC which connects very well with Gears of War 1. I'm almost tempted to play all the games again, they are masterpieces.

Hyped for Gears Judgement and Halo: Cursed Edition! :D
So the reason why Gears Judgement is so hated is for a number of reasons.
1: What came before.
So we had gears 3 with the best campaign ever. With a season pass with plenty of multiplayer content and maps. Gears judgement on the other hand was released for the same price (60$) and a season pass for 30$ just as gears 3 did. The only difference being that gears judgement was released with only 4 multiplayer maps and 3 maps for a new game mode called overrun. So in total 7 maps. Wich means a lack of content compared to gears 3 that had 10 multiplayer maps at launch (for the same price btw). By the time Judgement was released Gears 3 had 25 multiplayer maps to play on.
2. The changes.
The total removal of having 2 weapons and a pistol, now reduced to only 2 weapons and no pistol at all. Spawning with grenades wich used to be a pick up on the map, resulting in grenade spam and promoting bad gameplay. The removal of DBNO in multiplayer, this totally changed the whole meta of the game and removed the very thing that made gears unique in the first place. The total removal of being able to play as the locust in versus multiplayer, so cog vs cog (lame). This lead to the multiplayer not having that many playable characters. It had the smallest roster of characters to choose from in a gears game. This was recived as the worst gears multiplayer experience in gears history. Classic game modes like Guardian, Execution and Koth missing. Not to mention the fact that when the first dlc map pack rolled out, it was impossible to find games, because everyone was already bored of playing the same 4 maps over and ovar again. No one was gonna pay extra money for a game with worse gameplay and maps then the previous title. So naturally everyone went back to gears 3.
3. The campaign.
The campaign was so forgettable with no memorable moments. Story being "meh" at best. Why? Because the characters barely interact with eachother, cole not being cole, no one reacts to the situation they are in and no banther between characters, making everything feel very dull. Not to mention the repeated hold down this area and deploy turrets, over and over again. I can list a ton more but these are the big main reasons. Most of them are multiplayer related and if you just want to play the campaign, then I guess the game is aight. But all other gears games outshine this one for sure.

You should play Gears of war 1 from 2006, not the ultimate edition from 2015. its kind of the same game but its more have a scary vibe.

I never actually played RAAM’s shadow, I going to get it now. I enjoy watching this series and I agree, why not? Why not play them all, especially if you enjoy it. Seems to me that games had moved away from storytelling. Multiplayer and dlc content what it’s all about now and how much money can be made of if that is what is all about now. I love going back and reminiscing about the days when a game moved you and they were interactive movies, with characters you genuinely cared about. Gears and Halo both captured that so well. I was playing Halo Reach today and finished it and I’d been happy had they left it at that. Just like you said after playing Gears 3, they should have just left it at that. An amazing trilogy hands down.

I personally enjoyed Judgement. Do every declassified mission to get an extended ending... but a warning it does get thick and sweaty

Btw if you meant that as a question then yes there is but you can do them in the story mode but in multiplayer you have to get kills with that weapon to unlock them and there's one for every weapon

Let me tell you why judgement wasent loved by everyone the controls and some mechanics of the game were changed by People Can Fly so it felt like a basic shooter and the multiplayer felt like a third person cod insted of gears but overall both judgement campaings are very good
The controls are the reason I don't play Judgment. Played both campaigns once and never again.

Lt Kim's the best. It's unfortunate about what happened to Valera though.
In case you didn't know everyone in that squad dies. Minh Young Kim dies in the first hour of Gears of War 1,Tai Kaliso dies in the Second Gears of war, Valera dies in this campaign, and Micheal Barrick, your character dies in the comics

Hey deebee, I am not sure if you know or if anyone has already told you but Gears: Judgement is set before all other gears games (I think/ the ones you have played so far). Fan are mixed on judgement for many reasons but I believe the environmental story telling is quiet strong, so take a moment every now and then to just look around the skybox and the level. Listen to the radio chatter in-game.
React to gears wallbounce multiplayer montages its a insane mechanic in multiplayer, gears not are jus the lore, the multiplayer and the things that can do are one of the hearts of the franchice

Hey dee bee, If you liked playing as RAAM you should check out gears of war 3’s beast mode, it allows you (and potentially 4 other players) to play as a whole batch of locust from the main game, including THE BERZERKER!
Btw Fun lil fact: while playing in coop, in the sections where you play as RAAM, the second player will play as the Theron guard that you fight as a mini boss near the end
