Been testing Tyrant for the past 6 days, i run 4 Aces 2 Grans and 2 Megas ( might bump mega up to 3). I recommend taking out Hercules, now hear me out Tyrant needs protection from option cards, so Shivamon is Tyrants best friend if you can some turn 3 or 4 out Tyrant and Shiva you just Auto win cause you Force your opponent to beat over tyrant or shiva but if you have izzy or metallife you redirect to Tyrant
This^ Also on a side tangent. Decks that have a great chance against Magna X are Tyrant Control, Mirage, Nume, and if they're fast enough the new Pail can out speed it Sadly Rapid will be a solid T2 deck, it's super fun but it's lack of protection will be noticeable this format
I disagree with Shivamon's use. It is a 4 cost brick that is useful against 2 matchups, being Rapid and Imperial. In other relevant matchups it is either easily removed or is straight up something you wouldn't play. Even worse, it gurantees that Magnamon X will have immunity and, as such, will not be removed. You are sacrificing an extra lv6 you could rely to carry out your gameplan while you did not find Tyrant for a card that is useful against 2 decks, only one of which will be meta relevant. That is no good.
@@afonsoviveiros2605 It also stops every training, every memory boost, stops heavens Judgement (which Magna runs to out Tyrant), Awakening, messenger, Full Moon Meteor Impact which (Mirage runs to out Tyrant), a lot of purple cards that Fenrir uses, any of the extra cards for Fanglo, and you'll just redirect the Magna attack if they decide to do anything since it won't have immunity unless they Blinding
@@Spartan93ec Let's break this down: Tyrant is a slow deck, whatever Memory boosts or trainings you are stopping would be a win anyways given how slow your opponent has to be going. Shiva also does not stop Delay effects. Magnamon can easily play a Zudomon ACE or ST17 Magnamon and remove your Shiva, especially so since you are likely passing 5+ memory, before throwing a Heaven's. You are better off playing digimon that augment DP to have something after Tyrant having been nuked. Awakening and Messenger are ok stops but you are also considering you were faster than some of the fastest choices in the format. If you did not play memory boosts or trainings as that would imply, you could quite easily be passing a lot of memory. Either that, or, once more, your opponent bricked. Full Moon is more of a valid choice, but I am not sure you want to give Mirage of all decks 5+ memory. How are you stopping them from bursting to remove your Shivamon first? This is, if it does not get enough setup to kill you on the spot. What purple cards fenrir uses? The fanglong matchup is free, what will a fanglong do once it is dropped? Kill Tyrant? Good luck!
@@MrJsStrategyPlays this is true but it could have made your turn so much more impactful. You could have digivolved into tyrant then digivolve over pomumon to then play the Granku.
Suggestions for the format is definitely digimon emperor at x2, against vax armor/numemon/tribal magnaX/RapidX it slows decks down significantly. If you get 2 emps down against most of these decks early enough you are likely winning
Maybe if i didn't misplay game 1. But no it's not easy, Tyrant is no where near as fast as Magna X. At some point it'll just be tower vs tower. And some Magna players are catching on, and playing the BT16 Veemon that gives a 2k buff plus 1k DemiVee egg. And Heaven's is usually enough to clear board by giving minus 24k to the field...
Tyrant has a pretty good advantage over Magna X since it can easily surpass it in power, bottom deck the Magnas (non X), and control the game, it should be around 70% Tyrant favor from my testing. It's around the same percentage for Mirage too, just understand timing and control will be everything in this format
It does a bit consistently. From my experience, it is something around a 70-30 match-up, in Tyrant's favor. Unfortunetly, game 1 he made huge misplays and in game 2 he bricked while the Magna player highrolled.
@@Spartan93ec hey, do you have a list by any chance? I tested today Tyrant (I was the tyrant) vs Magna X and got absolutely destroyed. Thanks in advance
Its not anymore though. Its AncientGaruru, Gabubond, and Imperial. Magna X is def a crazy card though and its going to be a problem for the ENG format until BT17

Even ignoring magna x and rapid x effects, I find the prices of the cards really concerning. Feels like the game is getting more expensive fast.
Also once he used blinding ray in game 2 he would trigger Magna and not be able to unsuspend after checking your security
Lucemon bt18 will be peak expensiveness tbh
@@a.block.of.tofu. Its a "may" effect. He can trigger it whenever the conditions are met.
@@Nimonius that's true, I guess I assumed he was doing it for the effect.
The new cards are exciting, but yeah something about the meta secret rares in this set is reminding of yugioh
2:14 So in game 1 why did we not just suspend bt13 Magna with Metallife?
It is mandatory so I missed it, but it was going to get suspended anyway cause of GranKu effect

The issue is that it’s not searchable in most decks, not finding it early kinda sucks too
I want to run emperor but I don’t want to sacrifice consistency cards sadly
the missplay hurt so much, i know you’ll get a lot better with this deck bro
Still trying to solve the deck man but I know that game 1 would’ve gone much longer if it wasn’t for the Pomu misplay
All i wanted this set was bird support and four great dragon support 😅
Lmao well you got it. I’m not into to the super rogue decks like that tbh
Magna List ?
I don't got it, but i'll ask david if he wants to share next time I see him
Around 6:05 magna should not have stripped a source as tyrant was suspended
Yeah didn’t catch this till after the match. And I do believe it would’ve made a difference in the match
@MrJsStrategyPlays oh yea it's definitely game altering cause with that pretty sure magnas board would been clear enough to survive
Shouldn't this have been an easy win? I thought Tyrant could easily beat Magnamon?

No idea how this game is lasting in JP when magna is still a top three deck

I hate this format. 2 different decks built on magna x, imperialdramon, and numemon are the only viable decks. Everything else is pointless to play.
Where you let mirage, tyrantkabuteri, red hibrid, rapid x, etc?
Mirage has a fantastic matchup against Magna X and Tyrant does have a great matchup too when you understand what you're fully immune to
Also Gracenova is amazing against Magna X and is a pretty strong sleeper
Nah mirage, tyrant, and battle removal all beat magna x
