The Barbie Dream House is an iconic dollhouse that represents fun, glamour and innocence. It’s Barbie’s happy place. In this DIY project, we turn her dream into a nightmare. We use paint, custom sculpted miniature props, flickering candles, spiders, and spooky digital video effects to give Barbie’s dreamhouse a makeover into a scary haunted house. It’s all powered by an Arduino Uno R4. We take inspiration from classic horror movies and TV shows like Scream, Stranger Things, The Ring, and Arachnophobia. You’ll see Samara coming out of the TV, Ghostface is stalking Casey in the kitchen, and a possessed Barbie is summoning monsters with her magic circle in the Living Room. There’s even a Skibidi toilet in there. We wanted to call out Southern Gothic Dollhouse for inspiring us with her beautiful and haunting custom dollhouse. Check her out!

I still have a perfectly good Sony Trintron, think it's a 36". It's currently in the corner of my bedroom with my Blu-ray player attached, so I can watch all the DVD's I have! My VCR is currently on the fritz.

The fragility of the the Barbie house as you received it is insane. I had a (secondhand!) Barbie house in the 90s made out of wood and particle board that was practically indestructible.
That said, incredible transformation.

Also for future doll hair attempts, gluing the bangs the opposite way and then straightening them the correct way makes it more seamless and the glue hidden. People who make custom dolls do this a lot
Came here to recommend this! There are *oodles* of doll customizers on RUclips, and many of the hair techniques they use seems super straightforward
It would probably work out better using liquid latex instead of glue. The hair is normally just poked into the head with large pins.
@@reginafetty6374 many of the doll customizers I've seen use PVA glue, both to create wefts when they aren't rerooting and when applying said wefts.

Loved the Barbie Summoning Room. Kind of wished it had a more uniform theme than just "spooky." Like I think the TV should have just been static, maybe a blood trail to the fridge/oven, the gateway to the other could have been in the entryway, and maybe glowing light from the toilet. Overall, very well done. Just some choices I wouldn't have done.👍

As a doll collector/customizer, and a huge Disneyland Haunted Mansion fan, I am obsessed with this!!!! Too bad that the endless hallway didn't work out, that would have been so freaking awesome. Me too. I was a big fan of the Adam's Family back then and we destroyed our trains like Pugsley did. This house would have fit in with our love of strange things.
As a Barbie fan, I love this! And i totally believe this would happen in barbie's world, she has so many summer get-away houses, malibu homes, etc the only place she seemed to go back to was her Victorian theme home which was reintroduced 3 or 4 times in different colors. but lately she keeps buying new homes and mattel hasn't reintroduced past models. So this is literally an example of what happens to barbies vacation homes when she doesn't use them any more and how she makes money buying new homes, things get old, aged worn out, she doesn't keep track of all the people she's renting these homes to so she has no idea that one has just become a conjuring Scream horror house and doesn't care as long as they pay her rent so she can by more malibu home get aways lol.

It's a little hard to tell from the video, but what kind of Rit dye did you use? There's a specific line called "Rit Dyemore" that's for synthetic fabric that should have dyed the doll fibers, which would either be nylon, kanekalon, or polypropylene.
The alcohol ink worked beautifully though!

it's The Craft meets Addams Family. i can almost see a spoof of so many shows i watched as a kid... Dark Shadows, Being Human and so many others playing out in that house. i would love to see a stop action web series using this sort of backdrop to be honest.

Do you know who I think would be perfect Barbies to go in the house? The official Billie Eilish dolls. This makes so much sense since Billie’s music sometimes has a dark and creepy vibe, so I feel like she would fit the vibe perfectly of what you turned the dream house into. Also, even though the Billie Eilish dolls weren’t made by Mattel, two of them are still the same size and type of doll as Barbie.

not sure if this has been mentioned but barbie hair is typically saran hair which can sometimes be dyed with acrylic paint but can definitely be dyed using synthetic dye for clothes - the only problem is this dye will stain the doll head/body so you have to be super careful. honestly the ink you used seemed to work fine but just an fyi

Challenge for y’all bc of the doll house: Ever heard of Monster High? Basically it’s a doll line heavily based off of monsters (no doie) and combining it with the fashion of the late 2010’s emo-goth-punk. Since then, the fashions, designs and characters have shifted a lot. My challenge is for you guys to find one or multiple monster high dolls and make them into something Horrific like actual monsters. I’m asking to push the scare and monster factor on them
