So i made CATIO.patio for cat.

i bougut Grid Panels in DIY store in Japan "CAINZ"
30*60cm(12*24in) : 200JPY(1.9USD)
30*90cm(12*35in) : 350JPY(3.3USD)
but it seems grid panel is much more expensive in USA.

Q1: why dont you use Cat Netting?
A : i cant put net here.this is our main Balcony and we used to hang out laundry and blanket

Q2:why dont you let cats out ?
A : there are a lot of cars near my house.and 2 times i saw dead stray cats that was hit by car.so i dont want cats go out.
Q3:how about to put a bird feeder?
A :if it's located on backyard i want to do that.
but i can not make it coz this place i hang laundry.
birds used to make clothes dirty....
this is one of the reason i make catio in balcony.
i hire cats as security!!
they work very hard and no bird coming here now.

Q5:how to clean it?What will you do to access inside when there is an "accident"?
A : i connect just zip ties so if something happen,i can just cut it.i prepare nippers next door to cut it.
Q5:why your wooden room floor stained with white paint?
A : no worries! i didnt care about my room floor dirty.coz i was planning to make floor new and did it.

In a multi cat household it is SUPER important to have more than one entry and exit points for places as cats will exert territorial dominance and others may feel trapped in a corridor that only has one exit. This can cause a lot if potential fights and stress. I would recommend looping the single corridor up to a second level as the top level seems to only have one entry point. Just a suggestion as I've dealt with this before. Great video😊

Beautiful job. Be careful of those “outside zip ties”. I used them on my cyclone fence to hold up screening material. The hot sun eventually made them very brittle and caused them to snap. I would be checking those often.

I wouldn't use them at all. Hardware stores and farm supply stores sell easy bend aluminum clips for a permanent and safe joint. Usually marketed as rabbit cage clips.
@@DIYCATVILLAGE Ditto what Kristine said! Metal clips are safe, easy to clamp (just need pliers) and indestructible. Btw, that long dead-end is a fight waiting to happen. Jackson Galaxy recommends always having an escape route in a narrow area or dead-end. I would add a second level to the narrow walkway, opening on the bottom at each end, to the lower one. That way no one can get cornered. They’d just jump up and go back in the other direction.

dead end was ok for 3 cats.they dont fight each other so much.
but yes you are right now is not good coz there is 1 new kitten and it happen.so i will make 2nd floor on long way.so there is not dead end.

Such a good cat dad I wish my husband would do this for my cats , I don’t let cats out to roam free I wouldn’t want anything to happen to them a few of them actually likes going on car rides and a few likes leashes are cats were all feral babies we rescued we also rescued a lot of cats and kittens and got all of them homes.
wow its very nice!in my place there are few stray cats.but just 1 or 2 year i cant find them and new face coming,living outside is very hard.so i don want them go out.2 of my cat was also stray cat.it seems they miss sunbathing.so i made this.now they looks really happy.i want save stray cats too.
@Dana Gomez don’t wait for him. You do it. I bet if you get some stuff, start measuring and all. He will come and see what youre up to. Bet he starts correcting you and eventually say; move , I’ll do it. 😂

Dee8Bee thanks but I doubt it he complains about my cats to much he is not mean to them just cares what is brother think he says there fur gets on his clothes and it’s embarrassing and the litter box too now I see why sometimes people choose there pets over there spouses and my daughter tells her dad that her cats are her babies there her kids and he doesn’t like it she can move out she is 18 but very responsible graduated high school at 16 and got her first job recently and became a manager were she works within 2 months working there so I want her to be able to save for her car and other essential items she needs before she moves and plus she helps pay bills and also helps clean she is a good girl
DIY CAT VILLAGE you can help save stray and if you have a big property you could build a big catio and let them live there and maybe build other people catios and get paid and use the money for food and shelter for other stray cats

Different levels to lay on, can lay in the sun or in the shade,wood floors to make sure little paws don’t burn on cement, many places to look out on the world, and room to run if they get the zoomies. I love that this is a japanese man making a catio for his cats in Japan, but it has a lot of americans giving him advice on stuff normally used on the US...I'm pretty sure he knows what he's doing...
Based on my 20 years experience, I'm pretty sure he didn't know what he was doing but was figuring things out as he went along. As far as how it turned out, we really can't be for certain because we have no way of knowing his original intentions/ideas... this could be exactly what he wanted or very, very different than intended; either way, people making suggestions were most likely doing so with the best of intentions for his cats, and you for whatever reason think that's not a good thing.

Yes, ive planned on this for my main cat and 2 of her kittens of being near the window of front house. We have Coyotes constantly roaming neighborhood looking for cats. This is great help of giving me extra ideas . Great video, love it!!
