If the side colors of the cross or first layer don't line up the way I showed it in the video, then you need to redo it. Pay attention to ALL of the colors on one piece, and don't just pick white pieces randomly. I talk about this in the video, how I'm trying to match the other colors of the white piece (like white/orange etc.) *TAKING PIECES OUT OF THE SECOND LAYER* Step 3. At 5:33 I say "you should already know how to do this". I admit this is unclear. You should insert a random yellow edge into the second layer using the same algorithm you use for solving the second layer. If this does not make sense, watch the example solve video linked at the bottom of this comment. *COMMON TOP LAYER PROBLEMS* Step 4. If you can only get 1 or 3 edge pieces of the top cross, you need to reassemble the cube as solved. Step 5. There should be no problems here. Step 6. If you ever get only 2 corners in the correct location, you need to reassemble the cube as solved. Step 7. Finish the 4 moves (don't stop at 3) every time. Turn the bottom (don't rotate the whole cube) to get the next piece. If it STILL does not work, you need to reassemble the cube as solved, or physically twist all the corner pieces back to solved (don't force it, you may break your cube). "Why do I need to reassemble the cube?" Randomly assembling the cube only has a 1/12 chance of being solvable. If you've ever taken the cube apart or twisted corner pieces, then that can be the problem. If stickers have been switched, you will have to switch them back. I found this video around 2 years ago when my younger sibling bought a Rubik’s cube and couldn’t solve it, so I decided to attempt to solve it and the same story prevailed until I stumbled upon this video. After staying up till near 3am I had solved my first ever cube. Nearly 2 years on I still use a cube daily, I upgraded to the magnetic gan 11 m pro around a year ago after not being able to get a sub 1 minute on a standard cube due to it’s stiff movement but now after learning several other techniques and upgraded my cube I can now solve a cube in 20 seconds or less. TIPS: For first time solvers that are slow (like me). Pause each step or move, then mimic. Before solving, practice the 4 moves left side and 4 moves right side. I like to say "UP, AWAY, DOWN, and BACK" when doing those 4 moves. This video taught my 10 yo. nephew and 8 year old niece. They did every move on their own.
I memorized the algorithms in high school and got pretty good. Lost all my cubes overtime and just forgot about it until recently. Muscle memory is crazy. Solved the cube after watching this once and writing down some notes. Feels good to be back.

In my first try, i took almost 4-5 hours and now i can solve it in 4-5 minutes max, not impressive for cubers but still doing something which seemed almost impossible to do before 😁
After just 1 month I can finally say am able to solve the cube under just 4 mins , I know it's less of an achievement compared to the brilliant cubers out there , but rome wasn't built in day. I want to encourage someone who is just starting to watch the tutorial that it is very possible, just follow the man step by step and don't have the mentality of wanting to learn how to solve it in a day, it takes time, you have to be familiar with how the pieces move so that once you are lost you can find your way through without starting all over, and also as you practice you find that there are techniques that will be unique to you , goodluck learning 😁
It's 11.30pm where I live and I started with an old cube after 4pm that's hard to turn. And keep in mind I have other things to do that dont allow me to work on this puzzle. I still managed to cut my time down to under 10min to solve the cube. I'm really happy with the results and it wasn't that hard after I put my mind to it. I'd suggest anyone to use a cube that turns well if you can, but if you can't any cube will do. The satisfaction it brings after that first solve is really great, and each subsequent solve makes it better. Anyone failing after watching this tutorial, you're not an idiot, you probably just made a mistake or skipped a step. Just do it again while following the steps as carefull as possible. I'll be honest, I solved the cube 2 times and then messed it up the third time because I wasn't paying enough attention. It happens. In the last step when Dylan says corners he means the yellow corners... So you apply the algorithm as Dylan says and look whether the yellow corner is solved or not.. if it is solved then move as he says and it will be solved.

Same problem! I have to rescramble until there aren’t any yellow edges on the top layer. Otherwise I don’t know how to move them - everything else is explained so well in this tutorial!
@@dizzle7178 Hello~ I have yellow on all 8 pieces on top. Then I got the exact piece on the center at 5:35. From there, I did the 4 moves (both left and right hands) but the piece just ended up in that spot again. 🥲 What should I do starting from 5:35? I have all yellow on top pieces.

I recently learned beginner's CFOP method to get faster at normal solves. I went from 5 minutes to under 2 minutes (yup I know, can be done faster). Today I managed to solve the cube blindfolded for the first time ever. It took me about 12 minutes in total, but I nailed it and I'm so proud of myself. It's amazing that such a small toy can give so much satisfaction!

My son's friend asked me how to solve a rubiks cube. I said eh, I dunno, let's look it up. Wound up here. I'm a disabled combat veteran with a brain injury but this instruction was dope so I managed to solve it. I went "Ah that's fun" started watching other videos here and Tingman videos. Wound up ordering a speed cube off Amazon that showed up today (the next day.) Somehow I managed to solve once at around 3 minutes today even with slower hand eye coordination and reaction time. This hobby is dope. I'm gonna go leave this one Tingman's page too. Thanks J Perm for the new talent.

I bought a Rubik's cube for my 5 year old as an activity during our 9 hour international flight. we flicked through so many tutorials but found your one to be the best and the clearest. so now my 5 year old (and myself) can solve a Rubik's cube and she loves it so much.
I'm 50 years old and got my first Rubik's Cube when I was 10 and have never been able to solve it. In February 2021 I set out to finally learn how to solve one. Using a bunch of your videos I managed to learn how to do it in about 5 days and went from averaging 5 minutes initially using the beginner method to under 1 minute with the beginner method now in December 2021. I only use the beginner method and can't wait to learn CFOP. Need to master F2L and look ahead first. Me and my kids love your videos! Keep it coming!!!

Step 5 doesn't always work it works with pure luck. The first 2 times trying it worked well and now I'm trying to do it and did the moves he asked me to about 10 times with no result

When you get to the part where you have to create the yellow cross,does it matter weather it has yellow corners or is it not able to be accomplished unless you create the yellow cross without yellow corners?

I had thought I was following the four moves, but turns out I was sometimes not finishing the fourth move (Ui, or upper face rotate counterclockwise) after putting a yellow corner in place (1, 2, 3, 4... 1, 2, 3, 4... 1, 2, 3--the yellow piece is in place!) and moving on to the next corner piece. That's what was scrambling the white face.
Super helpful video!! Took me two days to start comfortably solving my cube without coming back to this video for help. I’m still a little slow, solving it in about 5 minutes 45 seconds but I’ll get faster. Tip for others who are learning for the first time. Practice each step repeatedly until it feels natural and you don’t have to think, before advancing to the next step.
Space Child Roblox I kind of did the same thing with the four corners. Like I just took out the corner and put it back into place and it seemed to work. I just solved the cube but I still have no idea how to switch the middle pieces.
Alright I finally got it, this is all u gotta do: Do the 4 movements for both R and L side of the cube with the 2 colours u want to be ontop Just do once for each is enough

Jimmy McGee I FIGURED IT OUT. you do the same algorithm you would do if you were taking a top piece to put it into the second row but you do it with a colour that has yellow to replace it !
I actually managed to get it solved for the first time in my life in 40 minutes, and now after like 5 tries with the tutorial I can solve it myself in less than 10 minutes. That's just crazy.

My ten year old grandson challenged me to solve it. He and his friends can whiz through all the steps. He gave me a few basics and suggested this video. Full disclosure: I got a cube back in the '70s and had no idea of how to solve it. Anyway, after three days and using the 1/2 speed mode, I solved it. Who said an old dog can't learn new tricks 😃

In the last step when Dylan says corners he means the yellow corners... So you apply the algorithm as Dylan says and look whether the yellow corner is solved or not.. if it is solved then move as he says and it will be solved.

I recently learned beginner's CFOP method to get faster at normal solves. I went from 5 minutes to under 2 minutes (yup I know, can be done faster). Today I managed to solve the cube blindfolded for the first time ever. It took me about 12 minutes in total, but I nailed it and I'm so proud of myself. It's amazing that such a small toy can give so much satisfaction!
As a 27-year-old who's never been able to solve a cube, I have finally solved the Rubik's brand cube that I was given for my 8th birthday and immediately scrambled. It's been 19 years since this thing has been "right". Thank you so much, J Perm!

My son's friend asked me how to solve a rubiks cube. I said eh, I dunno, let's look it up. Wound up here. I'm a disabled combat veteran with a brain injury but this instruction was dope so I managed to solve it. I went "Ah that's fun" started watching other videos here and Tingman videos. Wound up ordering a speed cube off Amazon that showed up today (the next day.) Somehow I managed to solve once at around 3 minutes today even with slower hand eye coordination and reaction time. This hobby is dope. I'm gonna go leave this one Tingman's page too. Thanks J Perm for the new talent.

I'm 50 years old and got my first Rubik's Cube when I was 10 and have never been able to solve it. In February 2021 I set out to finally learn how to solve one. Using a bunch of your videos I managed to learn how to do it in about 5 days and went from averaging 5 minutes initially using the beginner method to under 1 minute with the beginner method now in December 2021. I only use the beginner method and can't wait to learn CFOP. Need to master F2L and look ahead first.

I had thought I was following the four moves, but turns out I was sometimes not finishing the fourth move (Ui, or upper face rotate counterclockwise) after putting a yellow corner in place (1, 2, 3, 4... 1, 2, 3, 4... 1, 2, 3--the yellow piece is in place!) and moving on to the next corner piece. That's what was scrambling the white face.
Whenever i messed up that move, was due to me not doing the last turn of the four turn alg that he shows us to insert corners

I’m still a little slow, solving it in about 5 minutes 45 seconds but I’ll get faster.
Tip for others who are learning for the first time. Practice each step repeatedly until it feels natural and you don’t have to think, before advancing to the next step.

Space Child Roblox I kind of did the same thing with the four corners. Like I just took out the corner and put it back into place and it seemed to work. I just solved the cube but I still have no idea how to switch the middle pieces.

Jimmy McGee I FIGURED IT OUT. you do the same algorithm you would do if you were taking a top piece to put it into the second row but you do it with a colour that has yellow to replace it !
I actually managed to get it solved for the first time in my life in 40 minutes, and now after like 5 tries with the tutorial I can solve it myself in less than 10 minutes. That's just crazy.

Full disclosure: I got a cube back in the '70s and had no idea of how to solve it. Anyway, after three days and using the 1/2 speed mode, I solved it. Who said an old dog can't learn new tricks 😃
