    • @jackalclone1

      @theredline fiat has really dropped the ball communicating their lease deals to local dealers. I recently reserved the new "Inspired by Beauty" rose gold trim via the Fiat USA website, which also advertised $7500 credit when leasing via Stellantis. However, after meeting the local dealer this past week, they knew nothing about the new trims or lease deals, and quoted lease at over $600/month WITH TRADE. Which is insane. Local dealers are flying blind, and Fiat U.S. sales and leases are going to suffer again as a result.

    Style is subjective, but in my opinion the 500 has always stood out. Unfortunately the price/performance/range combo they've put together sounds like it'll be a really tough sell.
    If GM sticks with the original Bolt's value proposition with the next gen Bolt the 500e is toast.

    I say this as a long time Fiat fan, having owned both a 500 Pop and Abarth: pricing on these new 500e's are borderline offensive. I never thought I'd wish for Fiat to fail, but if this is their marketing strategy, they deserve to. And it makes me sad to write that, since I was genuinely excited for these before they announced pricing.

    • @jackalclone1
      @jackalclone1 9 месяцев назад +2

      @maurizio9703 you completely missed the point. It's not the job of consumers to accept a good or service that is overpriced and poorly marketed. Even if they're a fan of the brand or company (which I am). It's the job of consumers to let a company know their marketing and pricing is insane in a given segment. Which Fiat USA's is. "Wishing them to fail" is in reference to the U.S. specifically, as they're positioning this release terribly, and clearly not listening to or learning from feedback in this market from consumers who WANT the new 500e.

    Here in the UK I bought a two year old Red for half the price of a new one. It has the smaller electric motor but that’s fine as I only use it for shopping and local trips. Still have the VW Caddy Maxi 7 seater diesel automatic. What the guy skipped very quickly was, with the seats folded down, you can not stack anything on them. I had a Fiat 500 TwinAir Dualogic in 2012. There was more space inside and the seats folded down flat. Waiting for the 2026 version to replace this 2022 model … hopefully with these little things sorted out … and maybe that suicide third door they only offer the locals in Europe.

      For someone in the city, this makes perfect sense. Yeah the range isn’t huge, but I don’t think the buyers of previous 500’s were going on lots of road trips in them 🥴
      Also, most people don’t even know how to check their oil, let alone keep up on regular maintenance, so having a vehicle that really doesn’t need any maintenance is a huge plus 🤷🏻‍♂️

    After putting a deposit down for a pre-order of the new rose gold trim, a local dealer recently quoted me over 600/mo for lease. Fiat USA has not been giving local dealers updated info on lease deals, even though their official website advertises a huge credit through Stellantis. So, how in the world am I (or anybody) suppose to feel comfortable putting a deposit down on an already-overpriced car when dealerships don't have accurate finance numbers yet? Asinine marketing and pricing from Fiat, really dropped the ball, even for those of us who love them (previous 500 Pop and Abarth owner).

Hopefully some more models come to the US cause an overpriced little electric car that is going to live or die by lease deals is not going to cut it. The Fiat lineup with the X, L, 124 and the regular 500 were not awful but in typical Stellantis fashion they did next to nothing to update these models and just let them die on the vine.

    What was this guy thinking?
    I owned the previous generation gasoline 500, which was reasonably priced at under $14,000. This new generation feels more like a luxury toy for the wealthy rather than an affordable option for urban workers.
