Back when T & myself recorded this, I never thought people would like this track but I did my best for Mr. Wave on how he wanted this to sound. I actually performed all of the scratch tracks on this only single from legendary Mr Wave. It was recorded at INS recording studios in New York City and I had produced the beats with the Oberheim DMX & Roland 808. Scratches performed on my 1st pair of Technics 1200 back in 1987. Good times recording this for Mr Wave. I recently spoke to Wave on 9/2019. He is strong and creating new documentaries of his legendary life. Nuff said., One.

Much respect for you doing your thing DJ Lou. Was just thinking about how good this jam was and why I'd never heard it when I read your comment. Boy times have changed as far as technology goes. What do you think about current state of hip hop music?? Only if you don't mind if not I understand. Props to you again.

@@waltersobchak7275 Walter, the current state of hip hop is incredible! The influence on today's hip hop is so powerful due to the fact that back then we didn't have mp 3's or the internet to promote or shop demos. I myself am a true old school hip hop head till the casket tips. As far as today's current state of hip hop, I think it's amazing and may hip hop continue to open doors and reach higher levels and knock down barriers! Nuff said.

@@tlarocksdaoriginodjlouielo9004Well I never thought you would see that comment and thank you for your reply. I feel good knowing I conversed with a true pioneer of it all. You know when you were doing your thing in the early 80s in NYC we were huddled around the television down here in Jacksonville soaking up any and everything you guys put out as far as fresh moves. Often imitated but truly impossible to be dupli or replicated. ....but we sure tried. Glad to know you are keeping on sir. That honestly makes my week. God bless sir.

I think Mr Wave and Pop Master Fable and Mr Freeze was the best poppers during that Golden era of Hip Hop. Mr wave electrified me as kid growing up in Strong Island NY during the late 80 s and 90 s when I was engulfed in Hip Hop growing up in them suburban hoods of Long Island that use to have the Block parties and park jams in my old hood New Cassel Westbury NY which was a escape from the madness drama tradegey and suffering that going on in the neighbourhood with that crack epedicmic destroying lives all over NY. I remember me and my friends going to 42 ND street in Manhattan to see Beat Street. We were in awe of the NEw York City Breakers and the Rock Steady Crew being we were knee deep into break dancing ourselves back on Long Island. My Wave sent chills through my body seeing him pop on the big screen. No era would ever compare to that 80s and 90 s era. Our park jams during Westbury day I remember one summer Rakm Chuck D Flavor flav Freedie Foxx Dela Soul Epmd and Biz Markie all came through the park just to enjoy the Hip Hop vibes. All these cats where from Long Island but from other hoods in Long Island. Sometimes I remenice on those days like Pete Rock and CL Smooth.

I think NYC style of popping was unique back then. The vocabulary of moves wasn't as vast as the west coast and the animations weren't as sharp but we made up for it in groove and story telling. We didn't know how to hit "correctly" so we compensated with shoulder pops and direction changes for energy. The beats were a bit faster than the funk style the West grew up on. I wish some of the moves popularized in the movies Beatstreet and Wild Styles was represented more by modern poppers.
