Claudia, love your videos. They are so helpful. Could you please do one on pivots from first to second arabesque. I am finding them difficult and there doesn't seem to be much on them. Thanks.
Nine years oh. I was interest young that is why I am good. I took them as a toddler lol. Now I quit and I am ten so I am retrying and I did it amazing I really practice
I'm an adult but I really enjoyed your vid! One note: with years oversplit might worsen or be lost after any sort of inactive period (it took like 2 yrs for me after heavy injury) but I've discovered that the reason I still oversplit on air (and not on ground unless I force myself) is cause of the momentum created by my really strong inner thighs, abs and shoulders! I credit wall sits, crunches and my own addiction to swimming every summer for keeping my lovely high split jumps! And now your video motivated me to work on the flexibility aspect again, thank you
Aww I just came here after watching Dance Moms, loving the contrast :) You're a sweet teacher. I started ballet at 5 years old and it only lasted a year, I got board and now I don't dance any more (I do a little bit of yoga and running). Could you please do a very basic video, for people that are still learning first position etc? Do you do any other style of dance? Really want to move my furniture around and try and start this at home :)
Claudia, you are an amazing teacher. You are very precise and at the same time kind and motivating. I'm 63 and in my time, ballet teachers were often remote and often rather negative.
Hey Claudia do you have any tips on keeping the back knee straight in leaps? My back knee is always slightly bent in my leaps and I'm not sure how to fix that...
That always used to happen to me! You really just need to think about straightening the back leg because often you will just forget about it and concentrate on the front.
I love how the whole time she is teaching and speaking to the child instead of the camera it really feels like I’m in an actual class or workshop. Amazing job ❤❤🥰
What a wonderful teacher. I wish when I’d tried to take up ballet as a child that my teacher had an ounce of your patience and kindness. More ballet teachers like this in the world, please!
Hi Claudia, when I do grand jetes and saut de chats, I often have trouble getting my back leg up ~ do you have any tips? xxx Love this video by the way 😊💕
you're such a beautiful, talented instructor. I love your methods. I have to say, I love your accent, it's one of my favorites, so much so, I get mesmerized by it, then have to watch one video a bunch of times. Lol Good luck Kenzi!
great video. Are you going to do a video about splits? I'm having a hard time getting my back leg straight even after doing lunges. Also, good luck kenzie!!
Brigette Lawrence Both of my legs don't go really far (I'm not really strong), but we don't do Grand Jeté Developpé/Saut de Chat but a normal Grand Jeté, so with a straight front leg. I don't know whether that makes a difference. Any tips on how to improve my leaps?
Solar Wind I think a normal grand jeté is a lot harder than the développé version. I always do the normal one first with my students, because of that. Think of the jump as two grand battements put together. And all the tips in this video about attack, speed, and momentum help a lot! Also, the oversplit tip is probably a good one, stretching in and beyond the shape you want to make.
Claudia Dean Coaching Thank you miss claudia but i dont have very well flexibility because of my height.😢😢😢😢😢😢😢I know that i cant be a prima ballarina.
i've found that thinking of hitting a higher passé helps get the front leg higher too. sometimes when we're prepping for a leap, the front leg barely passes through a coupé and then when the leg finally straightens, its super low. so higher passé means the leg will automatically straighten higher
I’m a late started (12) but I won’t let that stop me from becoming a great ballerina:)
Dont worry about it ... I started at 22 ;)
I started at 14
Same lololl
I start at 8
DailyVids333 me too and I started with grade 4
Nine?!?!? As in between eight and ten? What an amazing talent. Go go it because you got the goods.
Claudia, love your videos. They are so helpful. Could you please do one on pivots from first to second arabesque. I am finding them difficult and there doesn't seem to be much on them. Thanks.

You are so positive and encouraging with the students. A wonderful teacher.
When you’re 10 years older than a child and still can’t do straight jetes...
Well I'm 10!!
Children are naturally more flexible than adults

I really like how you talked to her. It was kind and enthusiastic. You encouraged and praised. You’re a good teacher/coach :)
I am 16 and I started dance when I was about 15 and my leaps are terrible, so thank you for this! It’s really helpful
Claudia, you are an amazing teacher. You are very precise and at the same time kind and motivating. I'm 63 and in my time, ballet teachers were often remote and often rather negative.
This helped me so much. I've been dancing 20 years and nobody's ever told me to focus on the front leg. Amazing!
Hey Claudia do you have any tips on keeping the back knee straight in leaps? My back knee is always slightly bent in my leaps and I'm not sure how to fix that...
sia specifically focusing on the turn out in the back leg really helps me straighten out my leaps
That always used to happen to me! You really just need to think about straightening the back leg because often you will just forget about it and concentrate on the front.
sia i have the same Problem
sia so is mine. i also have the same problem! i always try so hard but i just cant
really focus on turning your back leg out. usually it fixes a bending knee
Oh my god, she's adorable! good luck!
That was so cute you clearly have a strong relationship with her👏🏻👏🏻😍☺️
this has come up in my recommendations like 5 times I feel RUclips is mocking me!!!
IM A DANCER OKAY!!;😂😂😂

Celeste Chong so relatable!! I've been trying to get it better but now it's gotten to the point where my back leg starts to bend in attitude
Celeste Chong q
Celeste Chong i recommend lifting your chest up and holding your core but don't sway your back

That is an amazing studio! It's like something out of a fairytale!
She is amazing! She is a lovely dancer I haven't even mastered the art of walking yet but I've mastered the art of wasting time on RUclips
Isn't this a saut de chat not gran jete?
Ciara1211 It's both a Grand Jeté Developpé and a Saut de Chat. Depends on your ballet school.
I have the exact same problem Kenzie had at the start, I'll definitely try these! ❤
Her grande jetes are better than mine before corrections...💀
Kenzi, I went last year and I had so much fun. Good luck . I know you'll do great
When a 9 year old is better than you 😔
I like how she interacts with the students.
I love ballet but i cant dance because im tall😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭It isnt fare
Do what you love!! Don't let anything stop you xx
Claudia Dean Coaching Thank you miss claudia but i dont have very well flexibility because of my height.😢😢😢😢😢😢😢I know that i cant be a prima ballarina.
Isabella marie Swan Cullen I thought I was too tall, but I'm able to do all splits now! So you just do your best and achieve your goals! xoxo
Belena Swangil im a girl and I just turned 11 and I'm 5' 9" and I have a 84 degree oversplit
Just do it. One really nice thing about being a tall dancer is that you'll naturally have longer lines which many dancers would love to have.
Claudia, you are an incredible teacher. I love all of your videos. Thank you so much for all the tips.
2nd year of dance. Everybody has been for 5-9 years so I'm trying to catch up. Thank you Claudia.
Exciting to see. Good fortune in your competition!

wow! i am a gymnast but those leaps were very good. good luck at your competition !
Good luck Kenzie!! ❤😊
