Auti was my teacher at Millennium Dance Complex. She is seriously a great teacher. I was the most consistent I've ever been with dance, going to her class! WHERE ARE YOU TEACHING NOW, I will follow you lol.
i dont mean to be so off topic but does someone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost the login password. I love any assistance you can offer me
Best verbal description of the jump and steps to work up to height that I have heard. Maybe after all these years I will finally be able to do one! If I do one w/ decent height, I will let you know :) Thnx ya'll!
I have to do a calypso with oone of my classmates in my jazz dance and I’ve never done a proper one but this has helped me SOOOO much!!! Thank you!!!!!!
@@Wyv3rn_0 so it is possible YAY! I switched from colorgaurd to dancing but to better my skills in Colorguard for when I wanna try out for bigger guards and I am not an experienced dancer at all (I joined my HS dance team lol)
I just signed up for your livestream event!! I’ve always wanted to learn dance but no studios around me offer dance classes to people over 18 (like what???) but I’m so thankful you have so many online resources to learn from!! As someone whose parents couldn’t financially afford for me to dance when I was younger I wanted to thank you for making dance accessible to everyone regardless of socioeconomic status!! 💞💞
I watched your video on how to do pirouettes years ago before I started my dance journey and now I find myself here, finally getting my calypso. Thank you for your amazing videos! They are so helpful.
In my country this jump is called a coupé-jeté en tournant and we prepare it with a coupé en tournant instead of a high chainé - low chainé (it that's how you spell it) so I'm even more confused lol
She looks like such a wonderful teacher 🥺 I’ve danced when I was little but not anymore, but if I had her as a teacher I’d so do dance again 😂 she makes it look even more fun then it already is
Thank you so much!!! I have dance company auditions coming up after being out of dance for years and I’m extremely nervous. Your videos help my confidence so much!!!
6:35 COOOLLLLLL!!! I’m a ballet dancer and *only* ballet, BUT AAAHHHHHH idk I guess I’m just fangirling because there’s other terminology for other styles of dance 😂 (which seems obvious tbh) but still so cool!
I started the design using a Harley Davidson Breakout as canvas to design a motorcycle called Calypso that will represent a dancer leaping using curves of metal and chrome elements with musical paintwork. Thank you for the inspirational channel 😉
Thank you so much. I recently started doing theatre and am currently doing Newsies. I have to do this in Carrying the banner and it was by far the hardest move in the show
My dance teacher had taught us this and she said to practice at home (because we just learned it) kind of did it once, did it a second time, the third time I sprained my toe and ankle. I rather not learn from my dance teacher anymore.
you explained it so well, but i have trouble lifting the extended leg up. i’ve been told my form is great but my leg doesn’t go high enough and i really don’t know how i can get it higher
I’ve been a dance teacher for many years. Flexibility is important but what is the top priority should be strengthening of the legs. Your legs and core are not strong enough to pull up.
Try ankle weights/tie something heavy around your ankles (a purse filled with heavy coins or something may work!) and sit on a chair. Put your hands under your butt for balance, and lift your leg as high as you can, trying to get your hamstrings off the seat. Do around 30 reps on each leg, 2x daily. You should develop serious strength in your quads! Leg raises can serve as a simplified version of this, but being seated vertically means you get a higher "kick". I hope this helps!
thanks for your sparkly content 😊✨🌸 I really enjoy watching you (also as a positive person bringing happiness to people). I learn really much thanks a lot.
This video is gonna help me improve my dancing skills i wish that i meet you in person but im from Philippines 🇵🇭 and thanks so much for this video. 😍💜
Is there a trick to not getting dizzy? When I do this faster I can't do this more than 3 times 😢. Focusing a point and turning my head fast to it when spinning isn't helping at all 😮.
I tried to do this and I literally fell and hurt my foot 😭 tryouts for the dance team at my school is tomorrow, and my foot still kinda hurts. It’s not broken. I can walk on it perfectly fine, luckily. I’m just scared I’m going to fall.
Can you do a video with how to get flexible and the stretches to do , I am trying to get flexible and I am not flexible at all a need to find out a way to get flexible!!!
Hi. Could you pls share some exercises to get to this jump, I seem to be not getting anywhere training for it. Atm I’m bending my front leg but it doesn’t stay up long enough until my arabesque leg gets up. I can’t figure out why. Thanks
My dance teacher recommended for us to watch you since we can’t be in the studio! Thanks so much!
