small tip for anyone doing this. the switches don't actually need a lot of force to take out. there are 2 clips that hold it in place on each side. all you have to do is depress each clip then push the switch out.
The board looks absolutely phenomenal and sounds really good! you did a really good job on the looks, it sure looks like a custom keyboard than the stock razer one.
This is so funny, I actually have the keycaps you used in my amazon cart 😂 Also, can you please do a modding tutorial on the anne pro 2? Your videos are really helpful and thorough. (The stabs are pretty bad xd and the switches are soldered on)
yea the keys with stabs are very bad and mushy. I took all my stabs off except the spacebar one. It sounds better but not stable lol. I did clip the stablizers on my space bar though, no desoldering. It was like micro surgery and it was hard.
The stabilizers on the huntsman mini linier are the only thing that kills this board for me (yes I am picky) lol but you found a way to fix that, they sound amazing. I will be keeping this board and doing this mod. Great video!
Thank you for the awesome guide! But I have 2 questions: - is it possible to deassamble the switch, to allow better / more consistent lubing? - Is it possible to use different stabilizers?
I just got this keyboard myself and I can answer one question fully. Firstly, you cant disassemble the switches without breaking them which is kinda sad but they still are amazing switches. 2nd, I'm not really sure if you could switch the stabilizers, it depends on the size of the area where the stabilizers go, but I would probably guess a no for that. Overall I think this is one of the best keyboards out there and if you're debating on getting it, you won't miss out on anything and it actually sounds better IRL than in videos.
Bro.. i really love your video they are great to watch. I have a question I hope you replay this.. a planning to buy a mechanical keyboard maybe around 50$.. what your recommend for me.. and If you suggest a higher price what do you suggest.. i already like royal kludge RK84 ?
I've lubed Razer optical switches with the paintbrush as done here as well as the spray-in-place method found in other videos. To me, there's no perceptible difference in feel between the two, and the boards continue to operate flawlessly many months after the fact. I'll stick with the latter since it's faster and more convenient.
Do you think you could get a guide to gmmk pro out before March? I’m treating myself to a gmmk pro for my bday and I would love to see how you would mod it. Thank you so much 🥰
Hi! I just bought a Razer Huntsman V2 TKL. Do you think I could follow this method (lubing primarily) to get the same end result? I love the way it sounds in this video! The only difference is that I plan to use Hyper X's Pudding PBT keycaps for a better RGB flow. Great video, and Thank you!
Can you separate the plate from the PCB without removing all the switches? I dont want to lube all the switches but I do want to fully lube the stabilizers
I agree and disagree. I think for a keyboard enthusiast absolutely they are. But for gamers they are pretty dang good, quick actuation, really nice bottom out feel for holding keys for long periods of time. However, yea for switch sound and typing feel they are definitely holding it back.
this might be a silly question but I don't feel overly comfortable pulling apart a perfectly good keyboard to do this are there places that can do this for you?
please @Consumer Tech Review i want your honest opinion! i am confused between MK61 AND RK61 please please help me decide it and tell me which one should I buy!
I have a favour to ask you but u would probably say no but can you mod my razer huntsman mini as well? Because they sound way to shaky and the stabiliser sound so bad
just "re-lubed" my purple switches. removed the tape mod and removed some foam. retightened all the screws and it feels much more responsive with the same keycaps re-installed. maybe the new application of new lube made the difference. only time will tell. good luck modding. i love modding this inexpensive keeb
Are there any stickers on the screws that are designed to tear when unscrewed? Razer says if you disassemble your product then this voids the warranty.
hey bro, I've seen people saying that you can't change the switches on the Huntsman mini, I was thinking about buying the yellow switches from Gateron because I hate the sound of my purple switch, do you think it would work/is it worth it?
I broke my kb doing this lmao. I dont think its the fault of the guide. But I messed up somehow and my lights dont light up anymore and theres a lot of issues with key presses registering.
@@umpus tf? how are they scratchy 💀 my dad has cherry mx reds that are unmodded and they feel like asspiss i have the huntsman te and they are 10x smoother
@@foobrazy that's cuz they are STOCK mx reds. Mx reds are scratchy because they aren't modded OR more modern. It's not a fair comparison because 1. Normal cherry switches suck cuz they have a scratchy nylon housing. Oh cherry switches suck imo
This board is only worth it when modded I swear I have a cheap drevo with some outemu reds, and the stabilizers on my keyboard are way better than what Razer did here, and it costs like less than half! Don't get me wrong, they are still not that great, but decent for a 40 bucks board, these on the huntsman are just crap

thats for hotswappable

Kinda sounds like sandpaper
It sounds pretty trash idk what u on
@@mahtummy7583 ur keybaord prolly sounds worse 😂
Your guides always give me hope I won’t mess my first build up. Thank you so much for all your work for these videos. Much love
You deserve more subscribers. The amount of work you put into this is phenomenal and the quality of your videos is on par with the others. Keep it up!

yeah i would like to see an Anne Pro 2 vid!

Wow man just wow you blew me away. If you blindfolded me I would believe they were totally different keyboards 😂
Where was this guide when i needed it, those stabs sound decent
Can't wait to see how this one turned out🤯

the stabs on razer's are kinda proprietary

This is hella cool! Here’s hoping you are going to do one for the Corsair keyboard
I would love to see a mod guide of the keychron k8 next! As i am currently saving up for it!
What’s ur favourite gaming keyboard under 150
DAAAAAAMN THAT BOARD SOUNDS SEXY AF!
I'm doing this mod ASAP!
Great video man!
7:52 when he did the shift i got a deep impression of that roblox drinking water sound
Just food for thought. But non drying modeling clay does way better at serving the purpose of the deadening foam and the coins to add more density.
That makes a lot of sense I may try that myself
I modded it and posted a before & after sound test with it on my channel. So good

i think its because the switches work mostly of lasers
Wow that sound from before and after is Night and Day 🔥🔥. Also board looks amazing as well. Razer were? 😜

The shift keys have nice stabilisers, I feel like the shift keys were as soft the the redragon k599, oh and great work!
i dont know if its me or if the keys sound kind of mushy but very silent
How long does that last tho? will it eventually go back to sounding clickity clackity?
Did you use an electric screwdriver to remove the screws?
Try modding the Kemove Snowfox
the results pretty good but it think the switches are still holding the board back
I agree and disagree. I think for a keyboard enthusiast absolutely they are. But for gamers they are pretty dang good, quick actuation, really nice bottom out feel for holding keys for long periods of time. However, yea for switch sound and typing feel they are definitely holding it back.
Is the clicking sound so different because of the lube or did you change the switch too?
Try modding the Kemove Snowfox idk if it’s Snowfox idk
This keyboard is so dope
What switches should I use if I want it to sound good?
I wonder how smooth those switches feel lubed
this might be a silly question but I don't feel overly comfortable pulling apart a perfectly good keyboard to do this are there places that can do this for you?
Quick question, is the lube what makes the keyboard quieter or is it the keycaps?
please @Consumer Tech Review i want your honest opinion! i am confused between MK61 AND RK61 please please help me decide it and tell me which one should I buy!
I really wish I knew how to do it I would probably still mess it up even with your helpful guide because of how impatient I am😂
Do you have to use those switches or can you use other switches?
Are you using a small light bar on the front of the keyboard in the sound test or is it a keyboard lighting preset you made
How do the switches feel before vs after lubed? Thanks
There are no problems lubbing semi optical switches??
CTR! Please make a modding guide for the TKL HyperX Alloy origins core!!!
hi CTR, please tell me where do you get the wrist rests from your modding thumbnails
Some are redragon, I have another from keychron, and glorious makes a wooden one. Hope this helps!
I have a favour to ask you but u would probably say no but can you mod my razer huntsman mini as well? Because they sound way to shaky and the stabiliser sound so bad
Wow this is insane! Really nice work!
Can You please mod the rk71? love the videos!!

Do this sounds really nice do u think i could mod mine but with the clicky switches thank you!
One of my screws was already stripped and is stripped more from me attempting to take it out. Any ideas?
Wait cheery caps work on the huntsman’s ?
I wanted to ask at step 9 can you hydro dipp it too?
hey bro, I've seen people saying that you can't change the switches on the Huntsman mini, I was thinking about buying the yellow switches from Gateron because I hate the sound of my purple switch, do you think it would work/is it worth it?
I think it would only work if you swapped the purple ones for the red ones, because they are Razer's proprietary and optical switches
Hello, I love the mod, the led light that appears at the end of the video, behind the keyboard, which one is it?
How many pins is the ribbon cable cause im gonna buy a replacement
What is glowing behind every keyboard in your videos? :D I like it a lot
I just put a little RGB strip back there. I think it looks cool as well!
this shit took so long and NOW i find your vid thank you so much
Can you please do a link for all lube
Great video!
Hello I have a question what is the thockiest keycaps profile?
How soon after living switches can you plug the board in?
Yo bro love the vids keep it up
Can I also use other switches
Why no bandaid modding? Does it effect the sound or can you just not do it with these stabilizers?
no need for that just lube it with krytox and dialetric grease
I broke my kb doing this lmao. I dont think its the fault of the guide. But I messed up somehow and my lights dont light up anymore and theres a lot of issues with key presses registering.
can you do the razer huntsman te
what are those keycaps?
Can you do a Video on how to mod the rog flachion?
It sounds awfully scratchy before and after but it looks sick. Love that grey/black/red colourway.
Yeah its probably the switches, Theyre SUPER rattly and scratchy imo
