Yes indeed, that's what the Lombard evolved into over the years, our drop bar urban offering. But put some knobbies on it and it will still tackle gravel just fine.
You wait, in a couple of years the "Gravel Bike" will have Morphed into a 26" Hardtail MTB - Then the cycle starts again, you have to keep the Sheeple buying with interest on things they may be missing out on!
A number of us here have been in the bike biz for 30+ years, so we have certainly seen how trends and tech evolved, and can confidently say that gravel bikes are super fun and multifunctional (and that it is highly unlikely that 26" will be a thing again - other than with bikes suited to smaller riders).
We know we can do it, but that doesn't mean you should. It's like running a marathon wearing Crocs. Of sure, you can do it, but it makes no sense. Knowing that there is a better option, any hardtail will outperform your gravel bike.
Nikki has a tire sponsorship, so he was not on stock rubber. But they're probably 40-42mm wide. The current Headlands 2 is spec'd with Vee Tire Rocket Man 700x44 tires.
Just the sound of nature and a bike rolling…no music, no effects…so good! Thank you for this reminder that we experience the best time in the woods. 💚
Glad you enjoyed it!
90% rider 10% bike
Fair point!
Yes, especially with the skilled rider 😉
Agreed
Bro got the new rockshox arms and legs
lol
Seatpost dropper very useful in this stage
fair point
Can a marin lombard 1 handle the harsh urban terrains?
I kinda like that bike

I wish I could find a trail with so few roots to ride my gravel bike on.
We often find that the "easy" or beginner trails in any given park are a hoot on gravel bikes. Hope you can discover some near you.
Hey, Whats the size of tire?
Nikki has a tire sponsorship, so he was not on stock rubber. But they're probably 40-42mm wide. The current Headlands 2 is spec'd with Vee Tire Rocket Man 700x44 tires.
with 47mm wide tyre limit we can do alot but mountain bike wide tyres give more grip so id buy a MB as well as having my GB
Trust us, we here at Marin are squarely in the "n+1" camp. One can never have enough bikes - one to cover every niche.
@@marin_bikes I’d be happy with my current gravel and an electric mountain bike.
Yes with category 1
Yes! Whit my 4 corners ❤
Cant lie, im jealous espacially cause i cant do that as a mountain biker
No suspension is a serious limitation
Everything? I’m not sure it would reach the bottom of red bull hardline 😂
Hmm..... fair point

👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️
They are terrible for urban city. Theft magnet
What bike is he riding?
Headlands 2 with the previous paint scheme.
Just because you can take a Chevy Impala off road, doesn’t mean you should.
But have you seen how a Ford Crown Vic can handle Moab? ruclips.net/video/KFwPXEeJ3aI/видео.html
@@marin_bikes 😂 touché
I'm far more confident on my hardtail MTB. My beefy wheels with thick tread, I'll do things I shouldn't on those bad boys.
🤘
Oh look, I can do the same thing on my MTN bike while holding a can of beer.
Can a butter knife cut steak? Sure why not.
This looks fun to people? Going back to the 1980s? 😂
The world would be boring if we all liked the same things
I bet this mf can also do that with a road bike. Not me tho lol
100%
But why?
Why not?

Sorry to hear, back issues suuuuuuck.
Jajaja esa mierda solo es moda no sirve ni para uno ni para otro 😂
That kind of ride use MTB 😂😂😂
What if you don't have one?
Its not a point riding gravel bike where MTB should be ridden.
Yet it is a lot of fun riding gravel bikes most everywhere.
@@marin_bikes Its fun, I do agree, but gravel bikes are meant to be ridden like 60-70% asphalt 30-40% offroad.
@@milosgrujic9118 Yep, and rider Nikki here is leaning into your prescribed 30-40%.
No
Haha potentially correct ;)
牛逼
Why didn’t he just get a mountain bike…!?!
Oh, Nikki here has plenty of mountain bikes too.
