I think reformed theology has been in an upswing recently. As a Baptist, my church very much was a General/Free Will Baptist church. My pastor was of the mold of Billy Graham and Adrian Rogers. We even did the whole sinner's prayer and alter calls like them. Then my pastor retired, and the current pastor we've had in the past decade is what I'd call sort of the New Calvinist that you mentioned in this video which makes us a Particular/Reformed Baptist church now. We now have elders and the teaching is much more Calvinistic now.
I really appreciate that the piety was mentioned at the end there. I have never heard anything of piety being reflected on towards proof of salvation, all the while struggling with it myself. Now that I am aware of it, I can give it up to our Lord in prayer. A broader understanding of total depravity also helps too. Thank you for your content!
Awesome video. Calvinism forms the bases of our Dutch Reformed Churchs theology in South Africa. Upon trying to return to the church I mainly listened to basically all the names you mentioned here and rejected Calvinism bcs of them. Going to give it a second shot thanks to you. Going straight to Calvin's writings after this.
Thank you so much RZ! I watched this thinking it'll be just amusing to hear you bash some random guys I know nothing about because I'm not American xD, but you have no idea how much the passage at 18:59 helped me. Ever since my conversion I struggled with doubts if my faith is really true, or just calculated, self-interested fake. The P in tulip you've explained recently, but still I would never tell if I'm really elect, or just outwardly appearing in the visible church for some time. Now you made me realise that because of my sin, selfish apparent faith is *not exclusive* with the true faith I've been given undeservingly by Holy Spirit. And I should to look to Christ instead of inspecting my thoughts. Have a blessed day ♥
Hey Zoomer, can you do a video specifically about the rapture? I know you did the one on Heaven coming here and not going there, but what of the time between now and judgement? I grew up being taught the Rapture, but have heard a lot of people say it isn’t sound, but never heard a justification for why it isn’t theologically sound.
Me: “Mom, can we get reformed theology?” Mom: ”We have reformed theology at home!” Reformed theology at home: *just baptist theology with predestination*
I feel like the second most common talking point on this channel after retaking the mainline churches is dunking on john macarthur lol

Have you tried talking to James White? I’d be interested in seeing how he responds to you haha
