Sonny, I know you won't read this, but I've subscribed because my late wife always watched your channel and she loved it. I would watch on occasion, and I always enjoyed it too. You gave her a lot of good content to watch while she was sick. Thank you for what you do, as you never know how it affects people out in the world. Ami loved watching, so I will continue the tradition.
Omfg its amazing to see Yia have a stale in a state fair and get that recognition, I've grown so fond of him after watching him in all the Laos series videos ❤❤❤❤
Hey Sonny just wanted to say you're show has given my sister something to look forward too she suffers from severe depression and we haven't been able to get her to smile until she started watching your show a year ago..she's watched every episode and is now inspired to create content around our local food in the free State..South Africa THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU🎉❤
I know its stupid but me and my wife were in this video. I was the guy at the Hmong place. I was the guy with the blue shirt and leather hat. My wife was the cutie with the purple shirt and jeans. I'm sorry but I'm kinda a star now...jj
You have found your niche in life. You not only narrate but you present your food videos with humor and presentation. You are very fun to watch. Keep up the great work that you do.
As a fellow Minnesotan, I loved watching this and representing our state and it's food at the state fair. But, I hit hurt me just a little to see that the photo of the fish you had for a walleye, wasn't even a walleye lol. Just poking fun! loved this video!
6:05 indian flag in background. Is it a marketing strategy for your new channel Best ever food review India. If yes, your team is genius. If no, what is that Indian store, curious 😅
They have a restaurant on Grand Avenue in St. Paul. Same giant egg roll and garlic wantons! I’ve had a variety of their entrees and everything has been superb. It’s on the expensive side but worth the splurge. If you’re from the area I HIGHLY recommend 🍻
You should do a Malaysian food channel, use to work in Manhattan and one of the deli workers was from Malaysia - she would always talking about how great the food and Malaysia was.
The Norwegian Lutefisk is actually Klippfisk. Lutefisk is made using caustic soda which gives it a jelly like texture remotely from the Klippfisk texture.
I've already gotten my three tickets for 2024. It's just since the pandemic that prices jumped so high, maybe around $3 per item. The Farmer's Union has a very good pork cutlet sandwich. The roast corn is always good. (The corn I had at the Texas fair was terrible. Feed corn?) Danielson's & Daughters Onion Rings are great, but they too have gotten expensive. It is possible for one person to eat well for under $100. Either way, it is the best and largest state fair in the country and is well worth the trip. Just plan on attending at least two days.
That was not Lutefisk. Lutefisk is made using caustic soda (Lye). The word Lut is Swedish for Lye and the word Lute is norwegian for Lye. It literally translates to Lyefish and gets that name from being made using lye. The exact process I'm not 100% on, but it's soaked in water/lye mixture for days and then you get Lutefisk at the end, I'm sure there are videos on youtube on how it's made if anyone wants to see it.
Wasn’t soaking in lye a form of preservation? My mom would serve it on Christmas Eve, as part of a larger smorgasbord. It was discontinued because only two diehards would partake and it stunk up the whole house while reconstituting…lol..
Vietnamese food is my favorite food and I've been eating Vietnamese "egg rolls" for decades. I've never been to a restaurant that didn't have them as a side or with the Bee Boong. Granted they are abut half the size of the ones in this video. Weird that Sonny has never seen them in Vietnam. Maybe they are regional?
Thank you Sonny and the team at the Best Ever Food Review Show for posting this video today! I was just told that I have a non cancerous brain tumor. This video has really brightened my day!
❤❤❤❤ SONNY,LOVE YOUR CONTENT ITS VERY WELL PUT TOGETHER AND YOU ARE THE PERFECT PERSON FOR THE JOB,YOU JUST HAVE THAT PERFECT TV FACE AND PERSONALITY. I ENJOY YOUR VIDEOS VERY MUCH AS DO MANY MANY OTHER PEOPLE. IN MY OPINION YOU SHOULD HAVE A TV SHOW,THATS HOW GOOD QUALITY YOUR CONTENT IS. ❤❤❤ FROM UPSTATE NY.
LOVE your show, you are awesome. One thing I would say for this episode is the picture you showed and called a walleye is actually a bass and not a walleye. Keep putting out the amazing content!
The portion sizes at the MN State Fair are very large and worth the prices. They do focus on high quality food, and not just deep frying anything that you can think of. I think it’s the best fair food in the country.
I was always told lutefisk was "re-hydrated" in lye. Because the name means "lye-fish". My grandma serves it the traditional way every Christmas. Baking it with salt and pepper in foil, and then dipping/drizzling it in melted butter. It has a gelatinous texture and not much flavor. So that bao sounded amazing lol. I've always wanted to try it with a spicy sauce. Because truthfully, it's like tofu. Not much taste (can be very fishy smelling though), odd texture, and it absorbs the sauce you put it in like a sponge.
Come too the UK I'm interested in what we can find here for you too film. Surely we have some traditional recipes that could wow the audience and pallette.
Hi Sonny, I may be 5 yr to late but it Good to see you guys teem up again. I love ❤️ his hiar style. Lol... he has to be a cool guy being bold like me.😅
Sonny instead of making befrs India you should have make a new channel with the existing video dubbed in Hindi man, My parents would love it and maximum population of India speaks Hindi, kindly consider this .love your show
Hey Sonny, have you ever been to the Kentucky Derby? Lots of great food unique to the Bluegrass state with many different cultural influences. Consider this an invitation to Kentucky, "Land of Beautiful Horses and Fast Women". LOL. You and your team are always welcome at my home. Great video as always.
The Derby isn’t truly Kentuckian IMO. Most average Kentuckians are either too poor to go or just don’t care. I’d much more recommend he attend the state fair OR one of the local fairs/festival like the Daniel Boone Festival in Barbourville, Kentucky.
It's funny you posted this cause just recently. I've been asking guga to make a dish. Call it a surfing cowdog. So Maine lobster tail on a stick then wrapped with thin wagyu strips. Then put smoked Gouda between the two meats and then dip that into a nice batter and deep fry it in butter or beef talo. I'd go with the kinda batter they use for Chinese chicken fingers. Then make sure melted compound butter dipping sauce. Mm mmm mm surfing cow dog
Sonny I've been watching your show for over couple years now. One thing I've been wondering. What happens to all those uneaten food that you order. During your broadcast ???
"Lutfisk" is actually stored in lye or "lut" in Swedish and Norwegian and made of the fish "Ling". What they had in the stall was just salted and dried cod, nothing special about that and NOT Lutfisk!
The Nordeast? NY State Fair 108, 390. They must hold it in someone's garage. MN State Fair 1,835,826 or 305,971 average day. Largest attendance-wise in the country. LOL
I lived in the Midwest, South Dakota and Minnesota for a while. One thing I will say in the middle of the country. It’s very hard to get a fresh seafood at a fair price or a decent price and the trucks to drive around selling them or not fresh because you’re thousands of miles from the ocean Unless you’re getting it from the Great Lakes or something I just feel like lobster is way too far away from Minnesota, South Dakota, and that whole middle area regional ( unless you wanna pay an arm and a leg to get it there you know fresh or expeditiously )

RIP to that one fish ball. Gone but not forgotten.
The floor ate well today boys.
Going to state fairs might be the easiest way to complete the $100 challenge ever.
You must have missed the Disney world ones.
Exactly, $1,000 sounds like a real challenge.
Did anybody else notice that Sonny keeps on saying: "seeeaaasonings"😅
definitely a nod to Uncle Roger 😅
He also says nooooodles!

"This food costs this much money." Just an absolute master at work.
Thank you for highlighting Hmong food. As a Hmong person I appreciate it

the giant egg roll and Vietnamese iced coffe were my favorite when I went. Definitely can’t wait to go again next year!

Nothing like staying up late and regretting the decision to watch food from a food fair 🤤
Still love seeing the glorious food from fair tho ❤
You should do a Malaysian food channel, use to work in Manhattan and one of the deli workers was from Malaysia - she would always talking about how great the food and Malaysia was.
I believe that's what he's doing. He has been uploading on his Indian food review channel. He is going to expand in the future.
Have you seen the Malaysian videos?
@@lainet3379this is the main channel. The he has other channel as well.
Every time I hear slipper lobster, it makes me chuckle because I picture someone shuffling around with a pair of fluffy lobsters on their feet🦞🩰😂
10:29 Vietnamese egg rolls are my favorite!
The Norwegian Lutefisk is actually Klippfisk. Lutefisk is made using caustic soda which gives it a jelly like texture remotely from the Klippfisk texture.
Thanks for saying it! Lol I was just shaking my head like “that ain’t friggin lutefisk my guy”. North Dakota Norwegians represent
I grew up in co where there is walleye but you gotta look for a small few lakes. It is hands down my favorite freshwater fish.
11:09 hearing, you need to wash it down? Made me laugh 😂
You make my life better with these videos!
It's always a highlight of my day watching your content Sonny.
You always make it fun and entertaining, thanks dude.

'This is an incredible fusion between what Americans like and Asians make', on those 'Vietnamese wontons' was a lowkey genius comment.
Love your videos. But the way y9u kept saying " seasonings " lol❤❤😂😂

Lol Australian Chicko Roll at a state fair when its an every day thing at all service stations in Oz.
The portion sizes at the MN State Fair are very large and worth the prices. They do focus on high quality food, and not just deep frying anything that you can think of. I think it’s the best fair food in the country.
I don't believe that is actually lutefisk, I think it's just salt cod.
Minnesota people must be in line with the Scottish. Everything in batter!! Everything deep fried!! 😂❤
Actually, it's not all fried or with cheese. The choices have gotten so much better over the last fifteen years.
I was always told lutefisk was "re-hydrated" in lye. Because the name means "lye-fish". My grandma serves it the traditional way every Christmas. Now I'm wondering if we were at the fair on the same day! Hopefully these vendors will be back next year, I wouldn't mind trying some of these 🤤

Noticed the way Sonny pronounced 'seasoning'. Kinda sing song way, seaaaaaasoning....😂😂😂

Loved the Indian flag in the background ❤ 6:04
Love to see Yia again.
Why does he keep saying "Special Seeeasonings" like that !😂😂😂
Lutefisk eh....and waffles in another episode...holy carp - NORWAY IS ON THE MAP people !!!
You should visit this tribe in the Philippines visayas region
They eat regular flies collected on a sack that is brushed by coconut oil
Goodluck.
Sonny I've been watching your show for over couple years now. One thing I've been wondering. What happens to all those uneaten food that you order. During your broadcast ???

Didn't ask don't care
That's what I noticed too
Damn... those buns Yias family made looks AMAZING!! Love the egg in there
C’mon guys you went to the NY state fair over the Big E!!!! You have to do a segment there next year please it’s the largest fair in the North East.
The Nordeast? NY State Fair 108, 390. They must hold it in someone's garage. MN State Fair 1,835,826 or 305,971 average day. Largest attendance-wise in the country. LOL
the way sunny says seeeeeasoning is great
Minnesota needs a papas Los barriles Baja style pop up block party/restaurant.
LOVE THE $100 FAIR SERIES
Fellow chunky Minnesota boy here you gotta try the fried green olives there!
I lived in the Midwest, South Dakota and Minnesota for a while. One thing I will say in the middle of the country. This looks so much better than the typical fair food of something fried in batter and butter
This is quality content as always, Sonny and team!!
Pretty sure real lutefisk is not just dehydrated (that's just salt curing), but straight up rotted and it's kept in a hole.
