I agree 100% I started watching this channel because Donna was so real. I prefer it to acting out a little skit and pretending like they don't know what the quilts and or patterns even look like. I like it when they keep it real.
Love 💕 that you showed how to use lots of different fabrics! I have bunches of “go-together” fat quarters that I wasn’t sure how to use in a quilt. Now I know!!! Yay!!🎉
I just made this using a fat quarter bundle of Christmas fabric I "found" in my stash. It did great. I just wish in had cut a diagonal and inserted contrasting fabric for a ribbon effect
Hannah you are not a "newbie" anymore! Fabulous fabric choices, arrangement of cute blocks, and you chose the perfect quilting design. A long arm quilter you can work with is a treasure.
I'd like to see scrapping in other patterns. I can think of some of the other patterns this could work, but I'd love to see more. What I learned from quilting: I haven't just learned to quilt, I hung a large print wallpaper based on the theory of it's just like matching plaids in fabrics. I figured out how to install a doorknob on an exterior door based on measuring, connecting pieces, and difficulty level. For actual quilt making, quilting has taught me that I have a lot more creativity and skill than I give myself credit.
Hannah is very professional, yet very personable. She is a fun and great addition to Fabric Cafe! She is also very good with details, and has great suggestions.
👍Great video Hanna! Your quilt is beautiful. Last year I made one of the 3-yard quilts using a Layer Cake for my #1 Focus Fabric and it turned out great. It's nice to be able to use up all the precuts I've bought over the years. I have five 3-yard quilt books and I wrote the size of the focus fabric block on each page that could be used for that purpose so I can see them at a glance.
Sadly I can't because it was a charity quilt and I didn't take a picture. I'll make sure to do that for the next one though. The one I made was with an "I Spy" layer cake for Children's Hospital - thought it would be fun for children.
Hi this is Brenda Bertrand and I would like to make a couple of comments on Hannah's video. Hannah, you were awesome. It was so great not to hear "Keep Watching" I have watched every video for the last year. I'm going to keep watching! Hanna was awesome. she didn't tell me to keep watching. Having said that you have made quilting availabe for anyone who wants to learn. The two quilt stores that I frequent in Calgary have many 3 yard quilts displayed in their stores and have many of your books. Anyone who has never quilted before can watch your show, go to a quilt store and can make any 3 Yard Quilt. You have changed my life, and it's for the better. And finally what is a king/queen quilt. Thanks for all you do. Brenda from Calgary, Canada
Hi Brenda! Thank you so much for your inspired comment. 😊 A king/queen quilt is usually a quilt that has a finished size that falls around a queen/king comforter or bed topper. Every pattern will have a different finished queen/king size, but all will roughly be around 90" x 100"
Thank you for showing one design using scraps, and the thought processes that went into the decision making. It opens up a bunch of new designs possible.
Oh My Gosh.... Hanna you are just delightful. My teenage granddaughter is now inspired by you to try sewing a Christmas theme Quilt ......We adore your Halloween quilt !!Thank you SO much !
This was wonderful! I am grateful to Dee for sending in the photo of her quilt made with a layer cake, as I had already decided to try it myself! Since the layer cake squares are 1/2¨ smaller than the pattern calls for, I just cut the corner squares 1/2¨ smaller as well. It turned out great! Plus, the quilt was larger than the normal 3-yard quilt sizes. I love to know if any of the 3-yard quilt patterns can be adapted for jelly rolls (I have quite a stash of those!). Thanks, Hannah; this was a terrific video, and I look forward to seeing more of this series.
Liked that you also shared how you picked the quilt design for your quiilt. I enjoy piecing the quilt tops, but fnding the right quilting design for the quilts is what I struggle with the most,. I can't afford to send them out & I'm not very good at free motion quilting, so I usually only do stitch in the ditch. Looking forward to seeing more videos like this.
Great video Hanna, love that you are showing everyone that they can use their 3-yard quilt patterns to use up scraps and/or stash. This is something I am looking for more now that I have a mountain of scraps and a smaller stash that I need to use up before purchasing more.
Hannah is adorable and I love how enthusiastic she is about quilting. It's a joy to make 3 yard quilts and its even more fun to see young quilters put their spin on a quilt to change it up and make it their own.
What a great video. Hannah, you are a delight and a natural on camera. I loved your quilt and I appreciated showing the quilt made from a layer cake. I need creative ideas like that. Thank you and don't stop sharing your ideas and creativity with all of us.
Another great video and so clearly explained. It's good to get a different perspective that adds to the richness of Fabric Cafe. Again, I've learnt a lot! It is good to see patterns that previously didn't really grab me but showing them used like this gives me ideas! 😁😊💞
This is a fun idea Hannah! I love the Halloween fabrics you blended together to make a one-of-a-kind special quilt! Thanks for the good idea and I'm looking forward to more!! 💖
Wonderful video! I watched it several times. Hannah explained all thought processes, fabric selection, quilting design so excellently. Let's get real. Many of us have tons of fabric in our stash. I'm like Hannah. I will use my leftover fabric scraps, but I have to run to the fabric store to complete the quilt, ending up with, you guessed it, more fabric scraps. Hannah please continue these wonderful videos. You are so charming, practical, realistic, and full of common sense.
Hannah, you knocked this video out of the park!!! Love the take on using scraps since any real quilter I know has a fabric stash they'll never get through in their lifetime, lol. Looking forward to this viewing this new feature 🥰. Quilting has taught me soooo much, one of the greatest being making me right at home with math & algebra when designing & cutting !!! rather than a Nervous Nellie 😁. Thanks again!!!!
I love watching Hannah! I have made several 3 yard quilts using scraps and/or fat quarters. The patterns with larger blocks work great for focus fabrics that you don't want to cut up.
Love this video!! I enjoy the way that Hannah is always so cheerful. Also, absolutely love that I now feel that I have the freedom experimenting with scraps. As you know, every quilter is overrun with so many scraps :) Thanks Hannah and Fabric Cafe!
Thank You Hannah, great display of the quilt you made. I like it It's individualized by the fabrics you chose, thread color and design and pattern. You've come a long way in a short amount of time. And your presentation of this video is just so delightful. Looking forward to see more of the things you've done in the upcoming videos.
Hannah, you have inspired me! I took this idea with the Snowball pattern. I used a Fabric Cafe kit with additional fabric. Once I find the perfect backing and have it back from the long arm I will send you a picture.
This was great, Hannah! I thoroughly enjoyed seeing your quilt and learning how you maneuvered through the obstacles! You are thinking more like me! Now you can use your leftovers to make table runners or toppers, mug rugs, bowl cozies, etc! Your options are limitless! I have several runners for every season, holiday, and occasion! I like to give them as gifts, too. People seem to appreciate them. They are nice, quick projects between quilts! I just love to make things that are different than what I can buy at a store!
Love the feature of using up scrap fabric! Would like to see more scrap patterns quilts. Your explanation of how you chose the pattern for quilt stitching was very helpful. I would like to see alternative ways to machine quilting as the cost of professional quilting costs defeats my purpose of utilizing scrap fabric when I'm on a budget. Thank you, Judy
On my, what a breath of fresh air !!! Wonderful job....you have a natural talent plus the help of two great quilters.!!!! Continue to grow !!!! Halloween is my favorite quilts to make ..
Excellent video, Hannah! I really enjoyed listening to your thought process when making all your decisions. Well done & look forward to your next video!
I loved this video. I am inspired to use up some scraps and I discovered a great use for layer cakes I have been wondering what to do with. I appreciate these videos and especially the 3-yard patterns that allow for quick and easy, yet beautiful and practical quilts.
Hannah is just an invaluable addition to the Fabric Café family...do not let her get away! She's fabulous 🤩.

Hanna you are a natural at being in front of the camera. You are so real!! I love it when you get to do a video for the channel.
I agree 100% I started watching this channel because Donna was so real. I prefer it to acting out a little skit and pretending like they don't know what the quilts and or patterns even look like. I like it when they keep it real.
It has been such fun to watch Hannah develop into a confident quilter. Love your Halloween quilt - what a great idea to use scraps for a 3-yard quilt.
I have been wanting to use my sewing theme fabrics in a quilt. This will be a great pattern.
Love 💕 that you showed how to use lots of different fabrics! I have bunches of “go-together” fat quarters that I wasn’t sure how to use in a quilt. Now I know!!! Yay!!🎉

Great job Hannah! You are a natural at these videos! Nice quilt too!
Hannah you are not a "newbie" anymore! Fabulous fabric choices, arrangement of cute blocks, and you chose the perfect quilting design. A long arm quilter you can work with is a treasure.
Love seeing Hannah creating!
I am very excited about other suggestions for being a rebel with three yard quilts- using pre-cuts is what I’m hoping for next!
I'd like to see scrapping in other patterns. I can think of some of the other patterns this could work, but I'd love to see more.

Great addition to your regular videos. I know you want to sell fabric, but most have scraps that need to be used up. Waste not want not. Thanks

Love hearing ways to use scraps and precuts in the 3 yard patterns.
Hannah is a pleasure to watch. She's very confident in her new quilting jouney.
Hannah you did a fabulous job. You have come a long wayp
You are a natural in front of the camera! I've wondered about using a layer cake for this pattern. Now, its on my to-do list. Thanks, Dee!
So happy to see more fabric options in the quilt. I find it so hard to just want to use 3, but find it difficult to figure out how to use the others 😊
Hanna, thanks so much! I live the blue version of the quilt. Quilting has taught me patience and to trust my artistic ability!
Hannah you are a gem! Keep teaching us new things.
I love watching Hannah! I have made several 3 yard quilts using scraps and/or fat quarters. The patterns with larger blocks work great for focus fabrics that you don't want to cut up.

I quilted on machine recently for the first time … it is actually fun very intimidating but you will love it …
Thank you. Excellent ideas. I appreciate your out of the box thinking. There is no wrong way to make a quilt.
