I agree with G.S. that being on a fixed income makes being frugal a must in anything we do. As we age (like fine wines) we develop health issues that restrict what we can do. I cannot stand or bend for long. So, for me, while the precuts are more expensive, they make quilting more accessible for me. I now make sure that what I do is more for my enjoyment rather than volume. I deeply love the Dean family for their kindnesses and their love of the craft, their community and their customers. Blessings to all of our quilting family.
It is said we should think of the things for which we are grateful daily - I am so grateful for Missouri Star and these videos. In these dark days, you are such a ray of sunshine and hope. Jenny, it is awesome to see you keep your family together. Please tell Jake hello, too! Don’t want him to feel left out!
Love it.....Natalie, Love the haircut....it really becomes you! I can't say one or the other was my FAVORITE....but TBH, I loved Natalie's fabric choices!! I like watermelon fabric too and Jenny's quilt was amazing too. I look forward to the Triple Plays....I really do!
I really love the description of how Jenny reacts to seeing a written pattern..."Waa wawaa, wa waawaa!" Exactly. We want to get started, not labour over words, and then have to reread those instructions multiple times. I love these videos. Thanks
I watch Fabric Cafe with Donna and just love the idea of three three 1 yard quilts. She doesn't show how you put them together and I'm a visual learner. This tutorial is just what I needed.
Shut it down!!! This was killing it today! My 10 yr old and I wait all week for your Friday "toots" (10 yr old for tutorial). This book was a hit and we ordered it.
These quilt sizes are great for charity give always, nursing homes, hospitals, veterans hospitals, & so many more, great for anyone using a wheelchair etc. thank you ♥️
Jenny you are so on the Mark! I can't read a pattern, I have tried.. I struggle so much with this process, I found you on RUclips and my quilting world came alive. I have been watching for years and I have been able to bring so much joy to others with quilting.. Thank You! I am truly a visual learner😃 These patterns look approachable.
Natalie!!! Your hair is super cute and sassy/chic! I love it!! And Donna Robertson’s books are so easy to follow and quick. This whole video put a big smile on my face!
You three are such great ladies. I enjoy seeing all of you. I think this Friday each month will never come because each of you are wonderful with different go to style. Please stay well and keep sharing.
Jenny has been doing these tutorials for some time but Natalie & Misty are both looking so natural doing them too. You ladies look like you have fun doing these.
Thanks for finally using a pattern that takes yardage. I know you have pre-cuts readily available in your store, so they are easy for you to pickup and make something. But most of the rest of us buy yardage that we like, from quilt shops to the chains like Joann's. And some, like me, prefer 2-4 fabric coordinated quilts and not scrappy ones. Please do more yardage quilts. These were really nice. I can see several baby quilts in my future.
Hi girls. Thanks for showing what these 3 yard quilts are about. I have never been interested in them before. Being a scrappy quilter who cant get enough patterns in one quilt, lol, now I'm intrigued. Great job. Love all your tutorials. Stay healthy and keep up all the good work.
I’m relieved I’m not the only one who has an issue reading quilt patterns. This is probably the reason I’ve modified every pattern I’ve ever followed. Lol Also, I love that first fishing collection- that mustard pops!
Jenny! Wah, wah, wah!!! I love it! That happens to me whenever I look at a pattern! Usually, I try to figure out what the author is trying to do and then do it my way. Most of my quilting happens without a pattern or with a very good idea of what needs to happen with the fabric. A lot of my oops moments turn into something really great! I love it that Natalie is getting screen time. I always look forward to the triple play to see what she has to offer. And the hair!!! It's so cute! Keep rockin' it! Then when Misty comes on you think everything has been said, then I get surprised and she offers something different! Triple.Play.Has.To.Stay.
This is why I can't follow a crochet pattern to save my soul! I know most stitches, but when I see sc3,dc7,sc10 etc. all I see is &$#$#)*@&$ translated to wah, wah, wah.
I met Donna Robertson at a quilt show several years ago and fell in love with her quilts. I usually buy 4 yards of one of the fabrics: 1 for the top of the quilt and 3 for the backing. Thank you for showing this method, I can’t decide on a favorite quilt the three of you made. What fun.
All three quilts are gorgeous! I love the bright and fresh fabrics! Look so forward to Fridays for a new video to come out! And enjoy the Tuesday videos and the extras you share with us!
Absolutely love all your triple play tutorials! Three fabulously talented women, love all three of you and really appreciate all your tutorials since I am like Jenny, when I read a pattern it is often too confusing!
Got the outdoor/fish fabric today. Looking at the video again today and I did get the Modern Views 3-Yard book. The book is awesome, well worth it. Fun weekend. Thanks ladies...I am a visual person so the tutorials are a must🙏
I love that you did a video with yardage! I know precuts are the basis of your business, but seeing yardage used is a great way for us to use our stash. Thanks so much.
Natalie!!! Your hair’s ADORABLE! Great Choice! You ladies have made this lockdown so much more bearable. I love your sweet faces & your sunny dispositions. Another Great video!
Sew Fun! Triple Play with the 3 girls is always a monthly favorite for me!! Thank you for helping me to stay busy and happy during this time of stay at home orders. Where I live in Maryland, we won't reach the beginning of Phase 1 opening until June 1st. SEW happy to have quilting as my creative play and distraction! Stay safe! A fan from Maryland!!
Oh my gosh, I just saw these books online. Glad you sell them. I too am visual. I too read constantly, but I understand completely about wawawawa. That is what I love about the BLOCK. Your real life pictures! Fabulous. Well be ordering theses books from you. Bobbie here in New Jersey.
The best thing about these books is she gives you the layouts for bigger quilts too. I bought one of her books and will be collecting the rest. Great way to use up fabric that you’ve been hanging on to for too long
I love to watch the triple play to see each ones style and fabric choices! My favorite this week was Natalie's, I love any sewing notion fabric, but the blues/greens are definitely my go to color way. Loved the quilt design too, it looks like flowers where the dark blues come together. Misty's was my second favorite, the fabrics scream summer picnics for sure! I just thought the white fabric had black dots, but should have known they were ants with the watermelon theme! So cute! Jenny's quilt was a great example of a boy/man quilt; a lot of times it is difficult to find fabrics that work well for our male friends. Have a great weekend everyone!
Awesome job!! This is great. They are easier than they look which is always nice and I loved all three versions. I love that they have more than one size for each pattern because I don’t really want to do a bunch of wall hangings. Thanks for sharing...great job all of you!!👍😀
Love love love the 3-yard quilts!! To use the 1 1/4" binding - sew it to a 1 1/2" inch strip (for flange part) - and that gives you a 2 1/4" strip to fold in half for a flange binding to machine hem. Even faster!
I have almost all of the 3 yard quilt books because they are that good and that much fun! A note for double fold binding it only takes and extra 1/2 yard to do it. LOVE this video
Hooray for Triple Play! I love seeing your trio of quilt ideas. Baby quilts would be fun using these patterns and would be a quick project. Natalie’s hair cut is darling!
Natalie, love the way your brain works. True art. Very inspiring and motivating. Missouri Quilts is a great site: helpful information and fun to watch.
Misty, your quilt makes me think of a picnic. Actually, I remembered family get togethers at Uncle Aut's house. Don't Paul and I would go to the watermelon patch to get melons in the summertime. He always made sure there were plenty for us to have melons to eat for several days. His children were grown but he still planted at least an acer of melons so the local boys had a patch to raid. As long as they didn't mess the vines up he would laugh and say he didn't believe he was missing any melons. Thanks for the fun patterns and for the trip down memory lane.
I have EVERY one of Donna Robertson's pattern Books. Love them all. Also purchase a lot of her kits. Especially love her Patriotic fabric choices. To be sure the quilts are up to the National Quilt of Valor organization - I add a 4th yard and add a couple of borders on to the origional quilt and it is perfect. Can cut, sew and finish a quilt in one day's worth of sewing. They are amazing. Really fun when you use your own fabric and they come together. Recommend everything. Have made about 20 of her different quilts. All are completely amazing.
Great triple play! I want to get the book and make all three!! Thank you for always keeping me busy, and inspired! Especially now during this tough time while I’m staying at home alone. ❤️🥰❤️
Although I do love precuts, like many others I have a lot of yardage too. These patterns look like the perfect way to use up some of that stash! I'm always excited to see what Jenny, Natalie and Misty bring with each Triple Play!

Thank you so much, Teresa! We're delighted to have you as part of the Missouri Star family! (And we'll let Jake know, too)
Love it.....Natalie, Love the haircut....it really becomes you!

I love these videos. Thanks
It gave me a chuckle which is a great way to start my morning.
Me too! That’s exactly what I’m thinking!
Natalie I love your new haircut, looks so light and fresh, not to mention easy to style and go.
Omgosh. I have patterns and have never used one because...wah wah wah wah wah. Solidarity, Jenny!
Where can I get the book?
Debra Yakel probably at Missouri Star Quilt Company. I think I heard Jenny mention them having the books in their shop.
These quilt sizes are great for charity give always, nursing homes, hospitals, veterans hospitals, & so many more, great for anyone using a wheelchair etc. thank you ♥️
You are NOT alone Jenny!
Many of us are challenged in this way!
YOU are an advocate...... saying "We CAN do this" !
I just love that you had 3 how to videos in one and that you are keeping it a family business. Love you girls.
I love your show, and I’m also glad to see you using Donna Robert’s pattern book. It makes it easier for me to understand. Thank you!
❤Thank you for showing a tutorial using yardage!

Love you guys! Natalie love your colors!
Jenny, I find so many patterns confusing! I just can’t visualize. I’m so glad I’m not alone in this.

These are so cute.. thank you ladies.
Those are all great quilts. I like Misty's watermelon fabric the best though. Thanks for the triple play!
I'm the same way about patterns Jenny. That's why I love your tutorials.
I’m so glad you’re working with the Donna Robertson quilts! These are the greatest and easiest quilts to make. I think I’ve made at least 10!
I love Triple play.
Although I do love precuts, like many others I have a lot of yardage too. These patterns look like the perfect way to use up some of that stash! I'm always excited to see what Jenny, Natalie and Misty bring with each Triple Play!
Great job everyone.
Bought these books already. It was so much fun watching you do them. Triple fun actually!
