During the recent series finale, Jessica Sanchez proved that she is the real winner of this season. Joshua Ledet proved that Phillip Phillips shouldn't have made the top 2 in the first place.
If Joshua Ledet or Jessica Sanchez were to run for President of the United States, I'd vote for either of them. The same can't be said for Phillip Phillips. Phillip would be eligible in 2025. Joshua would be eligible in 2027, and for Jessica, 2030.
American Idol XI should've come down to Joshua Ledet and Jessica Sanchez. If that were to happen, it would've been an epic finale and the vote would've been too close to call. I would've accepted either outcome, but in my opinion, this season would've been perfect if Jessica was the winner and Joshua was the runner-up. The tour would've also been epic and be a sellout nationwide. If Jessica won, her set would've come last with Joshua's set as the lead-in. The duet of "I Knew You Were Waiting" would've occurred on Jessica's set instead of Joshua's set. Phillip would've appeared on the first half of the tour concert and be involved in the performance "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars in Jessica's place. It didn't make sense for her set to occur at the start of the second half (after the intermission).

The results announcing him as safe and not in the bottom 2 or 3 week after week were rigged. The judges and many viewers held him to a ridiculously low standard. Although he was announced as the winner, it was actually Jessica Sanchez who got more votes. White guys who play guitars are a dime a dozen. Soul singers like Joshua Ledet are a rather rare commodity. Fil-Am divas like Jessica Sanchez are a really rare commodity.
