07:30 onwards.. great shot passing the guys showing how frigging big that planter was compared to them. Great video... I expect 8 more stucks this season.
There may well be some stucks up north, we have been stuck twice already here and are about 45 minutes south of that ground. Have heard no one has even started half an hour north of us.
@@davidlogel2350 is it because of late snow/frost melting? Or something else. And is it a good thing that it's so damp, because it means run off will help fill the water sources for later in the summer? Obviously not if your getting stuck all time.
@@SBEARD12345 had more snow this winter than normal, April’s weather was poor and had more snow and rain. Slow melting conditions and now we are getting rain every day it seems.
@@davidlogel2350 so, next question from this train driver in the UK... When is it too late to plant? Or could you store this grain and use another later cropping grain seed.. which can be cut later
@@SBEARD12345 in our area we like to be done around the third week of May, this year we will still be seeding into June. You can plant crops that have a shorter time to maturity if seeding runs late but this may not always be feasible if you’ve pre bought inputs for this crop year. Still getting the crop in early June is a gamble, producers just need the weather in the fall to help them out with good heat unit days and frost to stay away.

It just occurred to me that your wife probably loves watching your videos even more now that she isn’t in a tractor. I remember when I first saw her I could tell she loved farming.
I remember the first time that I saw Ashton. It was during one of the first videos I ever watched of Mikes. This was before they were married. She was all bundled up and it took me a few minutes to realize that there was a woman under there! I assumed that she was just an employee,so I was surprised by how friendly and even flirtatious Mike was towards her. But I got it figured out!
I think this is the first time I've ever gotten a good look at Brian he looks a lot like you I know you guys are brothers but it's like he could be your twin
Fast ag one inch tips is a lot less than three inch makes a tremendous amount of difference in pulling. We had vs 60 ft set up for deep banding while seeding. It pulled extremely hard. We went to a regular applicator set up ahead of seeding because of it
If you had soil instead of dirt you could configure your equipment so nothing gets stuck. Regenerative Agriculture works to make farming easier in many ways; e.g. Gabe Brown's paddocks would allow trucks on them within 24 hours of a big storm. Bear this in mind: _Tradition is being peer pressured by dead people._
I did a quick calculation on the weight involved in all of that stuck and I worked it out at about, including the friction of mud the weight came to about 208 metric tonnes now thats some pulling power
Mike along with the stuck pot you should get a cap with stuck king wrote on it and whoever gets stuck has to wear it until the next person gets stuck then they pass the cap on .Great video again 👍
Sometimes when I move from a semi to my car, it feels amazingly fast and agile for a few minutes, but other than that, not much. I guess a tractor is entirely different though as you aren't accelerating/decelerating nearly as much.
Oh yea Sometimes after a 12hr shift I jump back in my pickup and its all jumpy and funny to drive Just cause it's more responsive and feels smaller bumps than a tractor But your driving home all like what's wrong with my pickup

Oh yes. Biggest thing is speed. Been many times I get in my truck after sitting in a tractor 12+ hrs and thinking I’m flying yet I’m getting passed constantly. Look down and only doin 50mph.
Yes, because they are not as good at digging down through the mushy stuff to something a bit firmer, as the tracks quickly get slick from the mud stuck to it. The low ground pressure of tracks make it so they can't squeeze the mud out from between the lugs like it happens on wheeled units.
@@whjerts Tony Fast [ Fast AG Montana ] has a Case 580 ( tuned 685hp) + Bourgault 4320 - 100ft + 91300 cart, total length in transport mode = 150 ft. Tractor 25ft + drill 69ft + seeder cart 56ft = 150ft / 46 metres 😄
Certainly Brian would have to throw additional funds into the pot if two tractors are required to pull out the original stuck unit. Their history with a MAJOR STUCK didn't go well when one sling broke and took out both the back and front windows of the center tractor with luckily no one getting seriously injured.
Mike i would have left your drill winged down, so all the weight of the drill would have been supported by all the wheels in soft ground instead of just the main section. Secondly may i suggest a Yankim recovery rope that will stretch and use kinetic energy to assist in the recovery. They make them up to 160000 lbs I think.
Those rams must be huge on that seeder or the fendt has quite slow oil flow for how those wings come up, although I'm not used to seeing things that wide fold being from the UK 👍 hope you get the rain you need this year even if it means more stucks 😂
Mike: Why is Bryan not winging up? at least the first section? Would that make it easier to pull out of a situation like this? And also, i'm surprised the Fendt did not derate itself!!
I'm guessing you mean switch off? Stopping engines while hot is not very kind to the oil, especially if they've been operating under load, which the tractors are most of the time. When shut of the oil stops flowing and this will heat up to the temperature of the area around it. This is especially bad for the oil that stops in the turbo as it would get very hot. There are other factors as well, but this is the main reason I can think of (besides it just being annoying to wait for everything to boot back up when restarting) Oh, an at night those lights would drain the batteries pretty fast when the tractor is not running.
It can also take a couple minutes before all the screens are booted up and running well, so it could save some money, but not as practical as shutting something down like a car
@@tjakko4659 yeah, the money saved on fuel will probably be spent on replacing the batteries or starter motor sooner as it will wear out faster, so it's likely not even worth it for the savings
