THE FRESHMEN showband 'SOOLIMON' 1974 (a Neil Diamond song)

The fabulous Freshmen were one of Ireland's premier acts during the great showband years of the 1960's and 1970's. They specialised in complex vocal harmonies and indeed while supporting The Beach Boys on their Irish tour of 1967 were the more popular act. They had many chart hits and in September 2010 they were among four Irish showbands who were featured on a special set of commemorative stamps issued by the Irish postal service. This is their cover of Neil Diamond's 'Soolimon' released on his 'Tap Root Manuscript' album of 1970.
