  • Field hunting North Dakota waterfowl during the late season in a picked corn field just west of Devils Lake. Mixed bag of ross geese, snow geese, mallards and Canada geese over field decoys. Hunting with longtime friend and waterfowl guide Rick Darling. Used a large spread of full body decoys, spinning wing and motion decoys and an A frame blind for concealment.
Tremendous area for waterfowl hunting. Birds roost on numerous small lakes and ponds but field feed on waste agriculture including corn, peas, wheat and barley. Region is epicenter for duck production in the Central Flyway but also a major staging area for birds migrating out of Canada.
Rick Darling shares some great tips for decoy placement, how to use A Frame Blinds and how to use motion and spinning wing decoys.
