    It's the cost! Not many people are going to pay $20k to sparay foam a $2.5k fiberglass area!

      We understand that it's not for everyone. We have many clients who see both the immediate and long-term benefits of spray foam and have the budget to accommodate a full spray foam project or combine both systems to suit their needs.

    But it's not at true at all. Because of thermal bridging neither are very efficient. and it's not really an R20... The wall is full of 2 x 4 that transfer cold into the house... Outsulation is the best way to create a thermally tight home... Let's tell it like it is...

      Correct, a system involving some exterior insulation to help prevent thermal transfer through the studs is the best way. You also have to consider how buildings are constructed - most of which are not designed to handle the r-value required on the outside of the structure. Adding an inch or two of foam board can work very well, but more than that affects window depths and potentially the finishing material outside. Taking advantage of the space between the studs saves space and allows for the maximum r-value the way homes are currently being designed, especially in a colder climate like ours.
