It's the cost! Not many people are going to pay $20k to sparay foam a $2.5k fiberglass area!

But it's not at true at all. Because of thermal bridging neither are very efficient. and it's not really an R20... The wall is full of 2 x 4 that transfer cold into the house... Outsulation is the best way to create a thermally tight home... Let's tell it like it is...

Love building science incorporated into high end building designs. Slab edge effects can have a number of unforseen problems. The way this was addressed was well thought out. Also, addressing thermal bridging with SPF makes for both air tight thermal envelope and extremely high efficiency assemblies. Very cool project.

Find another use for the foam insulation to keep it out of a landfill, such as insulating an outside building -- a barn, shed or doghouse, for example, or don't take it down in the first place. Does it still contain petroleum and benzene, cancer-causing properties?

Hi Sabbi. In Canada, all sprayers must be trained and certified by the company you buy your product from or by the third part engineering firm who manages their quality assurance program. This is part of a requirement called CAN/ULC S705.2. After that initial training the sprayer must be tested by the engineering firm within 3 months for their license to be valid. At that point, the new sprayer enters our training program (in-house through our company). We have a documented training manual that details every skill that our helpers and sprayers need and we segment those skills into levels. If somebody starts with no construction background, they can go from a level 1 Helper to a level 3 sprayer in about 2 years if they apply themselves. But could take much longer.
