    Man, props to that guide for putting his hand on that guys back when he sensed he was gonna retreat. In a lot of situations when an animal sees you in flight response they instinctively attack you.

      @@playstationarusu it can escalate the situation. Most of the time as long as you treat them in a calm submissive manner they won't have any problems with you. It was likely just trying to show not to mess with the pack. If he ran it could have chased after him in its confusion.

    I saw the name Steve and got all excited it was Steve Irwin :'( I have to say though, this guy is really amazing and has really done an incredible job making up for the loss of the late great Irwin. They picked the right guy for this nature show.

    for everyone who thinks hes steve irwin, he obviously isn't. But he's got the exact same passion, love and determination to show what animals are like in a fair way, not selling them as cuddly pets but also not selling them as psychopathic creatures. He's the only other person i've ever seen with the passion of Steve Irwin. I like to think hes the British version of him, but in a super respectful way.

      ***** Yes, all animals in nature constantly scream to themselves for no reason whatsoever. Wolves sitting around at rest will bark, howl and growl, elephants trumpet at least 4 times a minute and don't even get me started on horses.
      Insects probably get away with it though because they're always like "HEY, BUDDY, I'M AND INSECT AND I'M RIGHT HERE!!!!"
      The entire point of documentaries is to try and document the real experience which means not adding in SFX.

      I don't know if you're british or not but this show, deadly 60, comes on CBBC. It does come on main BBC channels sometimes due to it being so educational but it's primarily a CBBC show which is a kids channel. So they have to make sound effects like that to please their main audience of 6-11 year olds

      There is the old trick of running more than the guide, not the Beast.

      F4lloutBoy96's Channel You're not outrunning the one gorilla, as you wont be able to run at all through the thick underbrush. That is not smooth ground, as you can see by how difficult it is for Steve to move around in it. You're likely to catch a root and trip, then to escape.

      He looks like he's somewhere around 200-225 lbs. Male gorillas weigh anywhere between 300 and 430 lbs. Double Steve's weight would make a large male gorilla.

      This is the correct response to a gorilla charge. If you run they see it as opportunity, your back is exposed. If you stare them down and beat your chest you'll get your head knocked off. If you stand your ground and avert your gaze, preferably getting low to the ground, they will leave you be. It's all about dominance, they have no interest in fighting you if they don't have to prove anything.

    The silverback is something majestic to behold but even more impressive then that is the awesome power of the human spirit black, white, brown, red, yellow curiosity of understanding the world around us and the mastering his domain over all other species. The guy became scared when that silverback approached n rightfully so but the men around him reassured him to hold his ground n not show fear. Huge balls😆😮💯🙏❤

    It's a very good thing that gorillas almost never attack humans.

      Be sure to leave their carcasses out where they were gunned down and let the word spread among the other poachers as a deterrent.

      GymChess I think it would be more like you tearing apart a chicken leg from a thigh. Not easy, but doable. They most certainly could kill you in a short period of time if they desired.

      BriantheRight It is estimated that it has 15-20 strong men's strength. That does mean it can separate your arms, legs and head from your body just "like that" if it knew how. World's strongest man for instance could break your neck and back like a twig. So it doesn't surprise that this animal being 15 times stronger could easily do likewise.

    That very brave guide, Steve, was quite the gentleman, through the whole thing, but I think that he naturally got spooked at the end, when the gorilla was drawing the boundary lines, with his display of throwing his weight around.
    I felt like asking the man Steve, right at that point, "Did you just mess yourself, due to the instant panic, that the sudden violent warning move, of the gorilla just did??".
