My father is already 62, & besides being the IT guy in a food company, he's also the one who does the data reports of the daily monthly sales etc. Do you have any suggestions of remote jobs for my father, thank you & good day.
this video just broke my heart. I am studying to become a data analyst but with the only intention of working remotly, since there are not many data analyst jobs in my country (Ecuador), but now Im starting to think that wont be possible and I just wasting my time 💔
I was hoping that there were an abundance of remote work from anywhere data analyst roles. I was thinking this didn’t make sense, and you basically proved my worst nightmare.
I start my masters program for HCDA in a few weeks! Thank you for you videos. Any videos to prepare? 🙏🏻. I’ve been a labor and delivery nurse for 20 years. Needed a change...
Everyone should get about close to the same salary regardless of where they live. Because when you're using more resources at home, it does cost a little bit more than going to the office every day just matters your situation sometimes, going to the office is cheaper than they should be your home. So it's lots of debate area.
It's definitely going to be interesting to see where things go. I think the more there's a shift for remote work, the more things will balance out. But it's hard to tell if they'll balance out a little lower. tech will be the most interesting to track since they already tend to have much higher salaries.
Hi Gabrielle! Similar to a software developer... the only true way to gain data analytics skills is by doing projects of your own, making mistakes as you build these and learning from those... once your project is ready you may need to post it on Github or Jupyter Notebook (meaning that you need to know some Python), afterwards you'll have to embed the URL link (of the project) in your resume or anywhere where potential employers can see it, there's no right or wrong way to do a project as long as it's unique or original... an example of an original project could be launching a survey, manually compiling the data, doing data visualizations and create a "report or something like that... if you want to go the extra mile you can create a SQL database model or something to store your projects data and if you know some data science techniques you may apply for instance linear regressions, etc to create predicting models (for data science the downside is that you need a bunch of data but it's dueable! - depending on what you are doing since not all techniques work for every situation) ... I hope this helps good luck!
@@juanmoctezuma9225 pls for God's sake.. Can i have your twitter or IG handle.. You're good enough to be my mentor . No doubt.. Pls, I would be very grateful. I have lots of question to ask concerning creating project
I was searching for work as a Data Analyst. I stopped looking for those roles and reverted back to Network Technician work. One thing I wish they taught me in college was Tableau, PowerBI, and about Agile programming. I feel my BS degree is completely worthless if I get this Networking job. If my degree didn't prepare me for a Data Analyst role how do I try to rekindle that possible job position in the future?
I think you forgot to mention being of that country. Say a US citizen but working remotely say in Mexico. That way you can get the remote job in the US then jet set to Mexico or Panama to work for a few months then onto the next country. Im from Australia and you often see Australians working remotely in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand
That helps but can be country or company-specific. Many companies are a little wary of this depending on how much of the time is spent working remotely. If you're out of the country for a certain number of days it can change how taxes work and whether companies need to report money being paid to someone in a foreign country. This is certainly going to differ by country. I'd imagine in the EU it's not so much of a problem. For the US, definitely can be a problem.
Hi Jan, thanks for your content. I'm wondering about something. How should i present my results when performing an analysis with python ? Using the notebook and just formatting it ? Taking screenshot of visualizations created ? To add it to another document to create a pdf for example ? Or do it througt a dedicated software like tableau (so export findings from to notebook and process it again in tableau).
Thank you so much for this video, Jen. It's just what I needed! However, I just wanted to ask...if I have experience working as a data analyst in my native country, would it be easier to convince a company from another country to get a data analyst role 100% remotely?
I'm from Brazil, and a remote job as data analyst for any company in the world paying in american dollar or euro would be profitable once our real (brazilian money) is very devalued.
I had a Brazilian expat working for me as an analyst at one point and the bump up in salary was shocking. He was on site in the US so it's a little bit different but no doubt it was very favorable financially.
Jen, do Data Analysts have assistants and if so what training & experience do they need? I'm retired with a business degree & a varied work background ( mgt, distribution, biz owner) and Really good working with numbers and analytical work. I'm in a very rural area now, need to work remotely as I have no vehicle and am physically disabled. I need more finances due to the insidious, insane inflation rates everyone is experiencing Worldwide. Thanks, David.
An answer I’ve seen for this question is if you have no experience is to start off by offering your services for free for one or two projects and then use those for your portfolio so that you can market yourself for paid freelance work.
Thanks for the clean insightful video. I have an accounting degree with a background in public accounting and some private experience, as well as a CPA certification. I didn't get a single response from the 15 or so applications I submitted. How many of these positions are actually real?
Hi. Thanks a lot for the very informative video. I am from Romania and inspecting data analyst as my future career. What is the probability of getting a remote job as a data analyst in US, while working from Romania (as employee or LLC)?
So im taking a bootcamp that literally promsises you a remote job in the USA or Canada. They say you dont pay until you get one. I get you can compete with salaries. but what percentage lower. A data analyst wins an average of 130,000 dls a year. How much cheaper? Anybody got an idea?
Liked and subscribed It would be great if u talk more about data analysis entry level demand in freelance websited and which ate better and more easy going for new people in the industry. I personally am a lawyer. I have a masters in international law and it would be great if you talk about this niche too. Like what law firms expect from their data analysts? Would the hire freelancers? Does my background in law help the purpose? How to gain their trust etc.. Ofcourse from what you said I assume they might be a little sceptical about hiring freelance data people specially from other countries since law field is a serious area and many people in charge of companies (head of the law firm) might not be so young therefore not so open to this whole idea..it is very very niche I know and it is a big thing if u do. But if you would make a video for this it would be great. Thx again
Good evening! I know 2 persons that work remote country as junior first job data analysts. I see job openings for junior remote all the time. On the other hand, in web dev I always hear that better in the beginning on-site and after remote. Is it easier to find beginner remote job as a data analyst than a web developer or my perception is wrong??
Hi i am interested in data analytics and want to learn all technologies associated with it but im scared i wont get hired for lacking job experience. please help if you can ..what steps should i take to get hired or at least bump my chances thanks.
