Netflix and the writer/producer of the Husavik issued a statement on the matter.
“According to Netflix, Sandén’s vocals were mixed with McAdams’s own voice for the tracks. In a separate phone call with Vanity Fair, Eurovision’s music producer Kotecha said that Sandén and McAdams’s “tones worked so well together” that, in playing back certain tracks, he had a hard time differentiating between the vocals.”

This song has been the most popular in Iceland since the release of the film. There are several Icelandic covers out there with Icelandic lyrics (not literal translations but the words Húsavík and the Icelandic words used in the original song.
There is a T-shirt store next to my house with Ja-Ja-Ding-Dong written on it. And if I heard it right there is a bar with that name in Húsavík. When the qurantine eases up in the world Eurovision fans will flock to there I would think. It is a whale watching town but you hardly see two whales jumping in the harbour in sync :)
Look Dadi Freyr up who won the Icelandic competition With Think About Things. A very talentful musician. I recommend; Think About Thing (official video and the live one). Because the cancelation he held 1 hour long Eurovision Home Concert.
He did covers of Volcano Man and Ja-Ja-Ding-Dong. Also absolutely amazing covers of Sting, Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X :)

I’ll absolutely give it a watch for the channel! I’ve always wanted to visit Iceland but after the movie I want to go a lot more. I’ve always thought if I had enough money I’d buy a small house in Europe. I grew up in a small town and now I’m thinking Iceland is a much more quiet place that’d I’d one day like to retire. I’m thinking I’ll devote every bit of my future RUclips success to that goal!

@@LegionGames2076 If you have a good and an honest business.model out there it will happen. Before and during Covid Iceland has been proven to be on top as the safest places anywhere. You come screened to the country, they do a swap at the airport and you have to stay in touch with them for 4 days.
We have few cases a day, all related to young people partying. But the island is enormous in comparison with the population so it is easy for you to stay in very affordable hotels around the country or hire a campervan where you can park almost anywhere ay a good distance from others. And you have the whole places for you just like in travel brochures/websites.
Best place to travel to Iceland is now. The Covid-measures are very simple but the country marches 99% in sync. The cases we have got are not tourists but home made. Good services and prices. If you or anyone reading this comes I shall sit down with you in Reykjavík and help to plan your stay. Just lost my job as a tiur guide. We can go to the pub talk U2, ABBA, Eurovison, the icelandic economy or just the weather. Stay safe but don't hesitate to come.

Facts, Spotify and Wikipedia only names Molly Sandén and Will Farrell as singers. Why is Rachels name not there? You are understanding the producers and directors words wrong I think. They want to promote Rachel as much as possible and bring less attention to the fact that someone else is the voice in the songs. How many % of the singing can be credited to Rachel, 1-99%. How many can sing like Molly sings, in the world? No one else on youtube (RUclipsr) has got the strange idea that its Rachel Macadams you hear in ”Husavik”. Finaly I have heard Molly sing for years now, she has a way of singing that I at first did not like so much. But now I realy like and I can only hear her voice on Husavik. I am only writing this because I think i is upsetting the take the credits from someone it belongs to and give to someone else!

    • @LegionGames2076
      @LegionGames2076  4 года назад

I’m not taking anything from Molly, she’s a phenomenal singer. But when the musical producer who wrote and produced the song Húsavík says their voices work together so well he had a hard time differentiating the two, you need to believe him. I’m truly sorry if I spoiled this for you, I can understand your disappointment. I have another video for one of Molly’s performances on Friday, I’d like for you to watch it, and to be apart of this community.

Legion Games 2076 ”Spoiled it for me”, ”you need to believe him” HAHAHAHAHAHA, you are cracking me up. If all you have is a musicproducer saying something, you need to learn somthing about fact reseach. What the producer talkes about, I think, is some of the other song, not Husavik. Have you any idea how much work it would take to blend their voices? Why would you do it but for the beginnings of songs. NO thanks 😂😂😂 I don´t want be apart of your 121 strong community🤣🤣🤣

Claiming anyone else than Molly Sandén is singing in Hometown in the movie is close to defamation. Don’t do that to Molly Sandén.
I respect deeply people that can admit they might be wrong.
The actress Rachel McAdams is doing an absolutely excellent acting job (not singing) in this song in the movie!

I greatly appreciate how good Molly is, and this isn’t the only video I’ve done for her. However Netflix and musical producer that wrote and produced Húsavík put out a statement on this very topic. “According to Netflix, Sandén’s vocals were mixed with McAdams’s own voice for the tracks. In a separate phone call with Vanity Fair, Eurovision’s music producer Kotecha said that Sandén and McAdams’s “tones worked so well together” that, in playing back certain tracks, he had a hard time differentiating between the vocals.” Stating the truth, doesn’t take anything away from how talented Molly is, her talent is stronger than that.

I'm really pleased you enjoyed it. She has the most stunning voice, bordering on husky but not. If you're going to discover Eurovision, I suggest you work your way backward from 2020 :P The main competition rules - no more than 6 on stage, the songs can't be more than 3 minutes long and the 'Big 5' don't need to pre-qualify because they fund the contest. The Big 5 are Germany, Spain, France, United Kingdom, and Italy. The country who wins the previous year also has a pass directly to the final the following year. It started in 1956 so tons of songs to get through lol. I've subscribed to watch your journey :P

NO WHERE is RM mentioned in the credits for this song, so PLEASE stop taking pride in a North-American actress singing the song, when it is a European/SWEDISH singer singing!
