Iceland realistically can't host Eurovision. That part of the movie was unfortunately true, although they did exaggerate how small the stadium is it still is pretty small.

I think Husavik is a very strong symbol for all our hometowns, I've been living abroad for over 20 years (and I'm not from Iceland), and I cry like a baby every time I hear this song.

While I, personally, am not fond of this practice I also don’t think I have any right to tell the native people of this land what is right. I’d also add that there’s a pretty huge difference between a native tribe hunting a few whales per year and commercial whaling. I’d also also add that the overwhelming majority of Alaskans do not hunt or eat whale.

I don't think actually winning is so much important. Becoming part of Eurovision lore is more important. Lots of songs which did not win but everyone will remember forever, like Sound of Silence, We Are the Winners, Buranovskiye Babushki etc. And having no winner in 2020, this song is what peoplewill associate with the contest for this year. And of course she will get to sing the song on the grand stage of the next Eurovision, no doubt about it.
She is a fantastic singer - but still needs someone to teach her the correct pronunciation for the Icelandic parts. I.e. there is no R sound on Skjálfanda (no R in the name 😉)

The world needs to hear this version. The movie version is great, but this version brings chills and tears. One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I listen to it over and over all day at work. Such a beautiful and dynamic voice.

Agree.....it's not just a comedy....I loved it ....& I usually avoid Will Ferrell movies......But if you watch 'Kicking and screaming '......it is a similar comedy with an underlying serious story.

Molly, I went to Iceland and made it to Husavik in 23'... I only listened to this song like a million times while I was there.. True Icelands beautiful, but this song made it so special!

this song triggers me in an incredible way. I get goosebumps everywhere and start to cry when she changes to icelandic. I made an experiment and heard it on my headphones at least 50 times in a row and my reaction is every single time the same! unbelieveable singer, unbelieveable song!
