In an ideal world, I would have literally lived in a temple where I would have served as a priestess and studied, and I would have gone out in the community between religious services to serve as a social worker/ teacher. I will forever grieve what I could not do. In my youth I wanted to study theology but I was the ‘wrong’ gender. I no longer belong to that religion, but that fiery longing will consume me till the day I die after an unfulfilled (hence, miserable) life.
