Thanks for the video Kenya. Girl if you ever want a side hustle, you should consider being an audible book reader or do ASMR you have a very nice voice. 😅 Hope that didn't come off creepy, all the best intentions in that comment ❤
"Avere le serpi / i ricci in tasca" "To have snakes / hedgehogs in one's pockets" When someone is so miserly that he avoids putting his hands in his pockets (to pay) like if he had dangerous beasts in them...
The pidgeon one refers, actually, to the real act of hunting it. Bean were used as bait strapped with string, so yeah, hunting 2 pidgeons with a single bean would be considered overperforming. Nowadays you hardly find pidgeons in any restaurant, yet in Veneto you can still find in some places "Sopa Coada" (originally in the Treviso area) which is a soup made out of pidgeon's broth. As in most cases in Italian cuisine, is a very poor dish that comes from the country tradition.
Ok then… I won’t keep holding you up but would love to hear you do a video about how people opt for the more expensive, Marigold like international experience as opposed to the better tasting conservative Roman gourmet experience. I don’t get it either… 18€ for Pancakes?! GTFOHWTBS! 😛
It’s just more of how they advertise on Instagram and other social media platforms. You can get a much cheaper local breakfast, but you know about that already. 😉 I’ve been there twice in 7.5 years, but I did enjoy the time when I was there
There is also the opposite of "mani bucate" which is "braccio corto". When you re cheap basically your arm is so short that you can t give money to anybody with your hands making you "braccio corto".

Interesting! We just say “kill two birds with one stone”, which would be a bit of a similar equivalent. 😅
