    If anyone is interested in a more affordable exfoliating powder, I highly recommend the Good Molecules Pineapple Exfoliating Powder. (Spoiler alert: it does not smell like pineapple. It smells like Gerber baby rice cereal.) It is INSANELY good. It sounds very similar to the Tatcha in that it is a rice base that includes fruit enzymes and you use it exactly the same way. It is my holy grail and I will not be without it. I'm in my mid-40s with dry uber sensitive skin (rosacea, eczema, etc.) and it does not irritate and it just leaves my skin glowing and soft and smooth and it is amazing.

      Where did you get this product from?? I, too, have extremely angry, fussy skin, and need an awesome exfoliator!

    Would love to see a holy grail on a budget video for those of us who can't afford high end skincare. Also a holy grail kitchen products on your RachhLovesLife channel!

    I never purposely did any gatekeeping, I just didn't think of mentioning makeup I loved to anyone. Then when five of my holy grails got discontinued through the years, I decided I should at least try to help my new products I love from going away. That's when I started writing reviews, comments, hyping them up to friends and family. If they still get discontinued one day, I know I tried.

    Don't worry Rachel your products are safe from me! I don't I have the coin for majority of these favorites. I will live vicariously through you😅🤣😂On my 4th bottle of Essence turmeric milky moisturizer got to have it!

    • @mommashawna707

      I was a little disappointed in all of her favorites also because they were so unbelievably pricey. There are many dupes for the things that she liked like verb ghost oil it’s like $16 for a 2 ounce bottle and it will last you at least a year. It doesn’t leave your hair greasy so it’s not one of those oils that you have to be careful how much you put in. Things like that the Inkey list is another one that has prices like the ordinary and they have hair care and skin care. But I guess these are her favorites. I do have really expensive favorites also like I love Kate Somerville but that’s why I buy boxy charm because they have their pop-up shops that you can buy the products at such a fraction of the price.

      Lol me too! In the process of buying a house and redoing some paint and flooring has made me broke. Its always a good time to shop my own stash though. I also like Beauty Pie for luxury like hair/skin/makeup/body stuff at a way lower price. 2 months free trial period on Beauty Pie too!

    I've been into minimalist makeup, whatever is the quickest/easiest yet still looks like I tried. Elf shadow sticks!!!! Just pat out with your finger and boom, easy eye look!

    • @vbristow
      @vbristow 2 года назад

      2 questions:
      a) how many colours do the ELF shadow sticks come in?
      b) are there any other shadow sticks from other brands that you have tried that are also good/great/amazing?

    • @mackenzietyler2723
      @mackenzietyler2723 2 года назад

      @@vbristow I think there around 5 colors, I have been so happy with the elf I haven't tried others. I used to use lorel cream shadows but they were in a pot. Lorel was more pigmented comparatively.

    Not really gatekeeping but the wet n wild glass correct primer (the green one) I have been using for the past 2-3 years and it's not easy to find but it gives such a glow and evens out any redness, does great under makeup or without makeup. It's my favorite primer, and I will continue to buy it forever. I just never hear people talk about it!

    I have a habit of picking the skin off my lips when I’m anxious, so I often have really dry and cracked lips. So I have tried COUNTLESS lip balms and lip masks, and while the Laneige lip mask is one of my favorites, my all time favorite lip balm is Malin+Goetz Mojito Lip Balm. I feel like it heals my lips in a matter of hours. It also works great as a gloss and doesn’t have to be reapplied very often.

    I no longer can find the original Clarins UV Plus here in Germany. I loved it too. It’s now in a tube and they reformulated it. It’s greasier now, more like a cream and leaves me shiny. Better stock up on the original as long as it is still available!

    I never hear anyone talk about the Revlon Colorstay Satin Ink liquid lipsticks, but they really should. They're pigmented, comfortable, don't budge, don't transfer, and look good ALL day. They're not matte, but they're not super glossy either. A true satin. I tend to despise liquid lipsticks because my lips are so dry that by lunch time it's either cracking off in flakes, or just looks dry and crusty and hurts. This one doesn't do that at all--and it DOESN'T BUDGE. This is the one and only lipstick in my collection that I trust enough to not even bring with me for touch ups when I'm gone all day, because I know it won't be necessary. AND my lips still feel like they have life left in them when I remove my make up at the end of the day.

    I've been on a 'hair journey ' for a year now and my hair is a lot like yours. I quit using clarifying shampoos and started using a regular moisturizing shampoo/conditioner combo. I also only use shampoo every other day. I still rinse with water and condition my hair but I don't get greasy as quickly. You could do clarifying shampoos once a week to remove buildup of hair products but it can be really hard on hair and cause it to be oily faster if using everyday. I've also been trying to let it air dry because I was getting heat damage.

    • @mouse2390
      @mouse2390 2 года назад +1

      Yup. If your hair is oily on top with crunchy ends you're washing it too much. Too-frequent washing irritates your scalp into producing more oil--vicious circle. I'm down to shampoo twice a week--just wetting it down/conditioning in-between days and clarifying once a month and I don't have greasy hair anymore.

    It's not super exciting, but I have fallen in love with The Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm. I'm often too tired to do a double cleanse on my face if I wear a full face of makeup, and this Cleansing balm gets all my eye makeup off without stinging or leaving residue (something I've struggled to find). And it works with my sfx makeup too, so bonus! 🙃

    Well, I've got a few things that I love. First, I'm a huge fan of the Inkey List Tranexamic Acid Night Treatment. I suffer with cystic acne which can leave some pretty dark scars on my face and this really helps to clear them up. I usually use it and the Inkey List 15% Vitamin C and EGF, which I put on first. Then, after letting them set in, I put a nice amount of First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. It's unscented, can basically be used anywhere on the body, and helps my eczema so much. I have also had great luck with Uriage Hyseac New Skin Serum in the past and am likely going to repurchase that since I haven't had it for a bit and I miss it.
    This is a weird one, but also cannot live without burgundy eye liner. I once read an article about Kate Beckinsale's makeup in the movie Underworld and I guess they used burgundy eye liner for her look because it looks really natural and almost invisible and yet creates a full lash line and definition. It's kinda hard to find but man is it worth it. For mascara, I'm a tubing mascara fan through and through as everything else seems to raccoon on me so I love Amaterasu Beauty (all of their mascaras) and have also now tried Caliray Come Hell Or High Water mascara and also love that one too.
    Last but not least, Comfy Earrings! They have so many cute styles and are actually comfortable to wear all the time. I thought I hated stud earrings until I tried these but now I can wear them all the time without accidentally stabbing myself in the head by resting my head on something or holding a phone to my ear.
    Edited to add: Vichy Masque Peel Double Eclat. One of my fave little splurges cause it leaves my face so soft after I use it. Either that or Bye Bye Blemish Skin Resurfacing Peel Serum. Also works well but admittedly does not smell as nice. Lol

    When it comes to skincare I absolutely love the Biotherm Aquasource Deep Serum and the Clinique Superdefense Gel SPF40. They both totally improved my skin, plus I'm finally able to wear sunscreen on my face without breaking out. These and the Peptide Moisturizer from The Inkey List changed my life.
    When it comes to make-up I enjoy using the triangular powder puff from LH cosmetics to apply powder. Makes everything so much smoother and blurred.
    My lesser know favorite for lips are the Maybelline Super Stay Ink Crayons. I feel like not many people are talking about them but they stay a long time, are easy to use, and aren't too expensive.
    For my brows, I love the Rival de Loop Super Slim Eyebrow Pencils. Their colors are ashier than most brands while being very cheap. I think they're not available in the US or Canada though (I'm from Germany).

    I’ve been gatekeeping wet n wild big poppa mascara. I’ve used everything under the sun. From high end to cheap drug store and this blows them all out of the water. Yes I was surprised at how good it is. I did not expect it as I was used to using higher end mascaras, but this, not even a 7 dollar one outperformed dior, it cosmetics and my favorite tarte mascaras. Another good one to try that will surprise you is La colors tubing mascara sold at dollar general in a light purple tube. It does not perform like a tubing mascara on me but it is good at everything else. I’ve been using that one a ton while others 5-6-7 times the price just laying in my drawer.

    One is a hack for hydrating water mist that are just water. My choice is Evian. The beauty mister will set you back about $20. I bought a couple of extra fine continuous spray bottles on Amazon and a giant bottle of Evian and it is so great and cheap. The other is a group of products by dove. The started a kind of higher end hair care line that I love! They have bond building shampoo/conditioner, an amazing hyaluronic serum, and scalp spray. I stopped using olaplex and my hair has gotten stupid long!

    If you have fine thin hair, I would recommend R+CO hair oil "Neon lights". It's only oils, no silicon (dimethicone et cetera) which I feel are the reason other hair oils doesn't work for me because it weighs my hair down and makes it look string-y and stripey. R+co hair oil just moisturize and makes it shiney and healthy without the weight. It's pricey, but you don't need a lot. I have had one can for 10 months now and I have waist long hair and I use the oil everytime I've showered (which is everyday in the summer and after I get home from work). 10/10!

    Because of you I'm in love with the bite beauty Changemaker foundation and had to buy 2 of them because I haven't found another foundation that I like since I started wearing it 😂 but the one thing that I can't live without and I have to use daily is the elf lip scrub that comes in the lipstick tube in the flavor brown sugar. I use it every night before I put on my laneige lip sleeping mask in vanilla. The other thing I have to use daily and I'm on my second bottle and I have a back up of just in case the world catches on that it's really nice is the cosrx propolis light ampoule. I mix my vitamin c powder into it in the morning and I use it alone before my retinol at night. I absolutely love the way it just sinks into the skin.

    I got a lipstick in my Birchbox once and this thing stays in my purse, like not even in my makeup box because I know I am going to wear it and I will need it if I need to do touch ups. It is the PBJ Smoothie Lip Stick Crayon. The shade that I have is PERFECT for me. It a combination of neutral and hint of red that is great for office to night out. It is creamy and moisturizing. There are times when I reach into my putto get a chapstick and will grab it by accident and still put it on because it feels that great.

    I may have missed when your hair damage started or why, but I know you have a pool. I have a saltwater pool and colored hair. I wasn’t rinsing my hair often enough after swimming. I also thought leaving a protein treatment on sitting in the sun was a great idea, as well as putting my hair in a pony tail while swimming and after. My first clueless pool season destroyed my hair. So much breakage. It has taken a year to bring it back. Make sure you rinse the salt and chlorine out if not often while swimming, at least before bed. Use a spray in conditioner in between getting in and out. Protein treatments can make your hair very brittle and only added to my breakage. I’ve found the brand evolvh’s moisturizing spray leave in a big help when I’m not ready to go inside or hose my head off. Actually, all of their hair care is amazing and light weight. Another product recommendation as a blonde is the Color Wow Dream Filter every few shampoos followed by a heavier, richer conditioner, which I’m convinced helped so much. With patience, my hair stylist, and the right habits and products, my hair is getting healthy again. A year!! I was looking up syndromes and diseases and using rogaine unsuccessfully before my stylist and I both face-palmed … it’s the pool water!

    I love the Fenty Skin Butta Drop, leaves such a beautiful sheen and has a nice light scent. Also IGK Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm. Hempz Yuzu & Starfruit body moisturizer, I originally got this because living in Florida I wanted a daily moisturizer that had an SPF in it plus it smells amazing. Kosas Cloud Set powder. I have very dry skin but get oily in my t-zone and this is my holy grail setting powder.

    The L’Oréal pure retinol serum. So affordable, and it makes my skin flawless. Didn’t use it for a week and boom, hi breakout. Used it again, and pimples be gone! On my third bottle, and use it 6 nights a week. Also the simple hydrating gel cream. Feels so good, makes my skin hydrated without greasiness and sits well under makeup. And the price is fantastic! Good simple face cream

    I have loved watching your videos for a long time. Thank you for making such relaxing and comforting content.. I wouldn't say I've been gatekeeping this product but it is something I bought two of because it was seasonal. It's gone now til next spring but it's the "what's up doc?" body wash from lush. It smells citrus-y. It reinvigorates, and just makes me happy when I use it. It also makes my skin so soft. I only have one bottle left and I'm sad about it. My sister got multiples of the temptation body wash from lush from valentine's day. So I would say lush body washes in general are just really good.

    I use makeup mostly on occasion, but my favorite makeup palette is Rose edition by Essence. I use lot of products from Essence 😎 For hair I've been using Schwarzkopf's Gliss ultimate oil Elixir Balsamspray, going through second or third bottle and one other is Schwarzkopf's splitends miracle sealing serum. Although my splitends are already so dead and I need to get them trimmed, but i do like the product. I've been using Nivea Sun SPF 50+ sunscreen this summer, loving it
