    For this video, the recipe has egg and it is more fragrant compared to the version without egg. I have been testing this version of Gula Melaka Agar-agar for quite some time without success. Recently, my subscriber asked me for it, so I tried again. Thank goodness, this time I finally got it right! So I can’t wait to share it with you!

    Ingredients 材料:
    1 egg, room temperature 1 个鸡蛋,室温
    200 ml coconut milk, room temperature 200 毫升 椰奶,室温
    100 ml water, room temperature (for egg and coconut mixture) 100 毫升水,室温(用于鸡蛋和椰子混合物)
    900 ml water, room temperature 900 毫升水,室温
    50 grams brown sugar 50克红糖
    150 grams gula melaka or palm sugar 150 克 马六甲糖或棕榈糖
    10-12 grams agar-agar powder (packet instruction is 10 grams for 1000 ml liquid) 10-12克燕菜粉(包装说明为10克/1000毫升液体比例)
    3 pandan leaves 3片香兰叶
    pinch of salt 盐少许

    Looks delish! Did you intend for the coconut custard layer to be that much thicker than the clear jelly layer?

    Hi Ruyi, thank you very much for this recipe. Tried and followed the instructions exactly. Got agar looking like yours but with an even thinner transparent layer. Taste is very yummy 😋
    How can l make the transparent layer thicker, say about 1/3 of the total height? Thanks !

      hello!!! I'm so glad you liked it! Took me awhile to get it right..hehe 🥰. You can add 100ml water, 15-20 grams brown sugar and 1 grams agar-agar powder.
