Acolite episode 5 is the best star wars thing I have ever seen.
These fights and choreography surpassed both the Phantom Menace movie and the clone wars episode.

I don't have a lot of non-movie & non-show canon knowledge, but my prediction is that this is another story about the Jedi's careless approach to countering the Sith threat over time. They'd prefer to cover up and deny the existence of the Sith than deal with them openly and inform the Republic of the danger. If people knew how many ex-Jedi go dark & turn Sith, the Jedi would lose their political clout and power. I'm assuming that the incident on Mae's & Osha's home planet was another cover up in that same vane. Maybe Torbin lost himself to the dark side temporarily after being possessed and killed everyone.

And Sol then would have killed Mae’s and Osha’s mother to free him.

Mae is just a gaslighting psychopath...from childhood. They'd better not give her a redemption arc without a hell of a lot of personal pain.

I find it interesting that Qimir sounds a lot like that mythical monster, The Chimera

Helmet and gauntlet are cortosis, it's one of the rare metals in SW and it temporarily disrupts a saber from working, it breaks the solid beam.

This is the first major usage in live action canon, only previously being apart of the EU and later canonized in the Plagueis books

“Why is she [Mae] running again?” You mean from the Sith Lord who’s being trying to kill her all episode? And do you think she’s still trying to kill Sol? She abandoned seeking revenge when she discovered that Osha is alive.

Thanks, Mikey! Thanks, Joe! 🌑 It's great to see the energy absorption metal *cortosis* brought into live-action. 🔸 Did you notice a bit of the 'Kylo Ren' theme played as 'Qimir' knelt and covered 'Osha' with his cloak, near the end?

@@732ReviewCrew It was canonized in STAR WARS: UPRISING video game... but, indeed, it has had numerous mentions in the comics, since.

@@732ReviewCrew Cortosis was originally introduced in the book I, Jedi in 1998 being used for body armor by followers of a different Force tradition. It causes a feedback loop in lightsabers, temporarily disabling them but is brittle, which is probably why it broke so easily in response to physical impacts.

Finally a great episode with awesome fight scenes!! Now I don't even feel bad that we didn't get the entire fight last episode. 😮
I don't care about Yord's death, but Jecki's one is sad, I liked her character! 😢A bit of a mix of Anakin and Ahsoka. Triple stab... evil.
No idea why she was so much stronger than the other canon fodder Jedi (her being a Padawan and the others being probably knights?) but it for sure was cool and entertaining! 🤷‍♂
We all saw Qimir being the bad guy, very expected, but the reveal was nice. His cortosis(?) plating is damn cool and he fights really badass and seems very powerful!
Now I am actually looking forward to see more of him! Also the twins having swapped places is interesting.
    Great reaction and discussion! 😊

I agree the helmet is probably beskar. How else is he using it to block light sabers?
Padawan Jacki, may she rest in the Force did a nod to future Asoka in not only the two lightsabers but also the striking of the helmet!
Qimir can’t be the master. He may be a Sith Lord, but I suspect he has a master. I still want to believe hopefully that there is some canon into believing Darth Tenebrous or his master is still around (analogous to Sidious:Tyrannus:Ventress, with Qimir similar to Tyrannus), and that Qimir is a short lived Sith Lord that eventually was killed and replaced by Plageius.
I predict Sol will be killed, and both twins will be killed as well, or at least their blood will be harvested to learn how to use midiclorians to create life.
This would make sense in light of the fact the council not knowing the Sith are around 100 years later.

it's cortosis, a metal that can short out lightsabers
it appeared in legends a lot, like in the thrawn books and in some of the comics

He knows the code, but that doesn't make him a sith. He said, "A jedi might call me a sith". The Jedi havent seen a sith in a very long time so anyone using the darkside might be considered a sith. But that is a mistake
The rule of two means 1 master and 1 apprentice You have to remember a sith gets his name from his master and him saying i have no name can also have significance.
I think hes just a strong dark side force user just like Savage and Ventress but not a TRUE sith.
Cortosis being introduced in live action was cool. Since it can temporarily short out a lightsaber.
I'm going to say Jekki was out of balance and was lightly tapping the darkside because she was being very aggressive (SHE GAVE UP THE HIGH GROUND LOL). Which gave her a little more power and helped her keep up just a little.
    Just my opinion

This show depends on its audience having a 15 min attention span. Mae was going to turn herself in, but as soon as a Jedi tries to arrest her, she’s fighting for her life. Mae tells Osha that the Jedi have poisoned her mind as if we didn’t all hear Mae say “I can kill you” and try to burn Osha alive when they were kids. There’s no internal consistency and it’s exhausting.

    • @EM-fl5od
      @EM-fl5od 3 месяца назад +4

It’s because she changes her mind.. like a person does.
She wants to turn herself in, not because she wants to or because she’s “good,” but because she wanted to get close to her sister and escape her master. She also thought she could negotiate herself out of being imprisoned.
Then, she found out her master was there and killed Kelnaaca, who she was going to turn herself into. Then, all the Jedi start getting killed off, so there’s more reason for Mae to just run and find Osha and try to run off with her.
This isn’t at all hard to follow, she’s changing her mind based on the situation presented in front of her.
Star Wars fans will complain when things are explained to them but then lack the comprehension to understand scenes without explicit explanations.

That flashback episode was from Osha's perspective. You might deal with an unreliable narrator there, especially when we do consider brainwashing.
