...with lots of confusion in the end, which is somehow understandable. That happenend past 7pm and normally there is a strict 6pm curfew in Hockenheim.

It's stupid fun I used to race motorcycles when I was younger nothing in the world like flying down the quarter at 200 mph better than any drug you can do that's for sure

I don't understand how they can hang to the bike going over 300..... One dude hit like 360. Like the pressure from the wind at that speed is like driving through pudding.

what's that track length?
standard 1,320 feet / 402,33 meters
why does the big tire bikes take off in a manner that they are pulling to wall or centter of track ? is it because rear tire not straight in chassis ? or is there so much flex in frame and bearings in the rear tire that it twists in frame , ? i bet ceramic bearings would help and set rear tire slightly to the non pull side that would be rt side if chain drives the left I'm thinking looks like a bitch to get back pon track can't lean at all!
Since im late and no one answered you, my guess is the center of gravity such as if it tilts even slightly on launch its very hard to recorrect so its best to let off to completely correct it and you know also wont die

Two speed
they drive with a two speed gearbox.
to show you a difference, a top fuel dragster drives with only one gear.

5:19 - I guess the one on the blue drag bike red-lighted by the way the biker jumped the gun at the gate light, and even though the bike blasted through at a speed of 335 mph, it doesn't count because of the red-light and the racer was disqualified.
The one on the white and black bike was ruled the winner by disqualification, even though the speed was much less than the disqualifier - 205 mph.

Nice to see the Germans stepping up with a safe and modern drag strip. To many places around the world say they can handle the big guns at their strips but most are far from handling Top Fuel Dragsters or Funny cars which need well over another 1/4 mile to stop, 3/8's to a 1/2 mile just incase they don't get the chutes out in time or they lose the chutes because the lines broke during release. Stopping a TFD or a FC going over 335mph just after 1000 feet takes a lot of runoff road. That's why a few years back they shortened the nitro cars run s from 1350feet to 1000feet. All the other classes still run 1350feet.

1320ft is a quarter and 660 is an eighth, just sayin. The thousand ft mark was set to reduce top end speeds which in turn is for safety, slowing down included.Do these hot rods run 1000 also? It takes some serious skillz and huge heart to hang on at them speeds and Gs.
Top Fuel bikes run either 1/8 or 1/4, no 1000 ft.

In Europe we only have Funny Bike and Top Fuel Bike for the big 4-cylinder Drag Bikes. Moreover the bike in the near lane is a nitrous Pro Mod Bike to be exact.
If they're able to run consistently below 7secs they're allowed to compete in the European Top Fuel Bike Championship.
