In Michigan you can’t get an inspection unless you’re doing something wrong. It’s against the law , in Michigan, to get pulled over or into a scale unless the Dot officer see’s a violation. I personally drove my truck into a scale house and asked. Officer advised that I wasn’t the first to do this.
The idea that I’m more of a risk than any other carrier simply because I don’t have inspections is preposterous at best. I follow the law and I take care of my equipment.
I agree with you 100% but brokers still penalize carriers for not having them. In California you have to make an appointment with the officer. Other trucks have told me they were threatened with a ticket for asking. It's getting pretty ridiculous out there.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and your insight…I’m still interested in buy a truck and trailer and starting a business in trucking….in my area ….i have been talking to some potential, clients…they are telling me they will use me…just see what you think?
So now we should expect lower freight rates and this news to the broker advantage so they keep ripping off truckers with their cheap pay
I would expect freight rates to continue to increase with bigger changes after February. As capacity declines slowly, rates increase but if volume drops, then it won't help truckers.
The Federal Reserve is not the Federal Government
