  • The trucking industry is finally showing signs of recovery after a long and challenging freight recession. The Logistics Managers' Index (LMI), a key indicator of economic activity in the transportation and logistics sector, has reported that every metric it tracks is now positive for the first time since September 2019. This indicates that the industry is expanding across the board, with particularly strong growth in transportation, inventory, and warehousing.
    The LMI is a valuable tool for identifying emerging trends and performance benchmarking in the trucking industry. Its findings suggest that the industry is on the upswing, with businesses reporting increased activity and optimism. This is good news for the trucking industry and the broader economy, as it signals increased demand for goods and services and a more efficient flow of products throughout the supply chain.
    In this video, we will analyze the LMI's findings in more detail and discuss what this means for the trucking industry and the economy as a whole. We will also explore the factors driving this resurgence and provide insights into how businesses can capitalize on this positive momentum.

      Come on now you know things ain't going to flip overnight it's a slow progression... the rates did not drop in one day... it was months of micro adjustments and slow price drops, so it's going to be the same going up....

    The only way to come out of this low pay freight is…. Not hauling cheap freight
    Brokers will still try to pay you low cheap freight regardless
    So please start asking for more money
    Do not haul cheap freight

    The world is not what it seems like a man who works off the books for 100k and only report he makes 20k per year will look a different way on paper than in real life. I think the industry will be terrible maybe until june or when truckers are tired and realize the power they hold and know their worth like how a engineer does.

    In Houston. Trucks are not running like before. Customers are paying at their lowest rates ever. While local companies are offering these rates just to get work. Causing driver pay to plummet. Parts for repairs on trucks are extremely expensive. I don't see the industry recovering as of yet. Drivers are fed up as well as logistic companies.

    • @AFTDispatch
      @AFTDispatch  3 месяца назад +1

      It's definitely tough and quite prolonged unfortunately. Yes, rates are down, carriers are closing their doors, and company drivers are seeing pay cuts. If things don't change for the better soon, we'll only see established companies with paid off equipment, low operating costs, and large companies which are self-insured and have fuel storage allowing them to dollar cost average with diesel prices. It's pretty rough right now.

I cringe to imagine the overhead destroying your boasted weekly figures. For the sake of argument, let's just say a 3 year final net net figure. You're better off in a cargo van.
