About loose bark. I have seen some videos where other logging companies soak their logs in water for a specific time, and then use a buffer - similar to the ones in car washes - to knock off loose bark. In some cases, these same companies would leave the logs outside for a specific time after soaking and buffing to see if additional loose bark can be knocked off before going to the mill. Just a thought.

Great vid on the large pine log. I wish I was there to smell that wonderful aroma. Fires are actually good for the lumber market. In the 90s in CA I was a dozer operator for a timber co. when I wasn't working as a fire dozer operator for our county fire department. After the forest fires land that couldn't be logged before the fire was opened up for logging while prepping for reforestation. The company that I worked for pulled tens of thousands of board feet of logs out of the burned out areas. Have a great day.

    Dear Mr. Galicic
👍👌👏 Nice video showing very well done teamwork. 2) I like to watch and hear the edging process (minus the annoying and way too loud music of course). 👅😜😇😘
    3) Please kindly allow me to suggest that you debark at least some of your logs. There are a lot of debarking attachments for chainsaws available. I would put one on an electric cord chainsaw because also strong but much lighter, way quieter and easier to work with. You could even sell the bark mulch.
Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing.
Best regards, luck and health in particular. To all of you of course.

Hi Mark. I just pulled a few stats out of Wikipedia for the 2019 fire season. I hope you find them interesting and no way meant to diminish the disaster occurring in Canada. We know their pain.
The 2019-20 Australian bushfire season or Black Summer was a period of bushfires in many parts of Australia.
As of 28 October 2020, the fires burnt an estimated 24.3 million hectares (60 million acres; 243,000 square kilometres; 94,000 square miles), destroyed over 3,000 buildings (including 2,779 homes) and killed at least 34 people. It was claimed that three billion terrestrial vertebrates - the vast majority being reptiles - were affected and some endangered species were believed to be driven to extinction
