Congratulations on putting me off ever attempting this route :) I'd never manage that start climb without having a cardiac. Great vid though. Informative and interesting.
@@WussyCatMTB It will be a very cold day in hell when I allow myself to be seen in public on an eBike :) I'm off to Dalby again next week so I might just bite the bullet and do it..............Or just be a Wuss and do the green route, again
I'd do the blue first, right at the end you'll be getting a taste of the red as the last few corners before the skills area where you come out are shared Red/ Blue. If you keep your eyes peeled there is a great flow trail part just off the fire roads that you don't want to miss. Also the red is really long if you try to do it all. There is one part that is dull and takes ages. Most of the Red route is fine, but there are some parts that catch even experienced riders out as they come up a bit unexpectedly.
@@boomjunkie The Blue and Red trails all start at the main car park / visitor centre / bike shop. Time taken obviously varies for everybody, but a fairly leisurely pace gets you around between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 mins. The loop is about 6 or 7 miles.
Don’t feel bad - it took me absolutely ages to get comfortable enough to to ride down those. It doesn’t help when they are all blown out with massive holes and stones lying about in them 😂
@@WussyCatMTB thanks. My very first time on the blue trail coming up to that section, no joke I saw a lady on a very old style push bike, no helmet, just casually riding down it all 😲 I was like you've gotta be kidding me.
I know, right? Here I am, padded up to the eyeballs looking like Robocop, and somehow I’m terrified of riding something that somebody is calmly riding down on some clapped out folding bike with no lid on 🙄😂😂😂😭 Unfortunately, at some point, they’ll get it wrong and seriously hurt themselves 😞
Yeah ,looking at getting a e mountain bike, guess iam a bit lazy, but been looking at some vids at Dolby Forrest ,couldn’t see if yours was an ebike or normal, but looked great fun which ever😀
@@JohnJohnson-xm2mu Honestly - eBikes are great for just bombing up fire-roads to get to the good stuff as long as the riders aren't being a-holes on shared climbs, I say go for it!
This video has convinced me that this is where I'm going this weekend! I just got an E-Bike so this should be a good test
It will be a breeze on an ebike
Im going this weekend to do a blue, to show routes suitable for newer riders. Good video wuss.!
That's great! There are still so many people finding the sport - great for them to be able to have a look at what to expect 👍
Great vid & commentary, funny.looks great fun
It is a good little trail :)

Nooooo! Don't be put off! Worst case: try an eBike - then the cardio piece isn't much of a worry :)

@@stevemccauley3996 Give it a try - no shame in taking a break if you need one! ;)
@@stevemccauley3996 Whats wrong with ebikes? I ride 200 miles a month now, where as I used to ride 40 on a normal bike. Try one you will be suprised.
@@stevemccauley3996 yes that climb 🥵 it really does put me off doing it again.
Awsome video and great commentary
Glad you enjoyed
Would you recommend trying the blue route as a first taster in Dalby or could a relative novice go straight to the red route?

WussyCat MTB where does Blue start from and how long does it take first time around?

Me ride the world cup trails
I do like the black XC World Cup trail. I actually rode it a few weeks back, but the footage was completely unusable, unfortunately 😞
Are you on ebikes?
Haha, no. Depending on who you ask: 'proper'(or normal) bikes, though eBikes are huge fun to ride. They reall can make light work of climbs!
