So she can win the fight. It is no different than when teens use guns to settle a score. Only to spend their younger years locked up in cages when given some time extra help problems can be resolved better.
Upon reflection, could it all have been handled better? Yes! She needed to move. She recognized her need for isolation and a lack of noise. Understood but she had no right to move in to an area full of children and insist they confirm to her ideal.
Had neighborhood parents addressed her as a group explaining to her reasonably that she was living in the wrong space? At least she might have listened.
I understand she was not being open minded or realistic about her situation. She now had to be moved by force. It still falls upon her that she put herself into a no win situation and chose to act out in the worst possible way.
I am really mad at people calling children playing organized games, interacting positively in their neighborhood which is a beautiful sight reckless or undisciplined.
I hope these dear children do not lose connections with other children who will soon be their community.
She met a challenge in a hostile, unattainable manner. That she chose to focus her anger, say terrible things about a family that upon appearances looked quite nice and the children looked cared for insulting names rather than try to negotiate time with them is incredibly immature.
To call them wild, undisciplined is an insult they did not deserve. To say children must be kept under lock and key always is ridiculous. Children need to run around in safe environments and build good relationships with others. This requires social interaction. They hadn't reached the point of egging or toilet papering her house. Noise ordinaces are usually only in effect after dark for protection. The place you live in is your space. Open space is open space to be used and shared.
It was because of her insistance to not be friendly, not interact with people in a community that functioned that way that brought her to this.
To say everyone, even relatives must conform to your personal rules is not how our society works. It isn't being insensitive it is being realistic to the make-up of this neighborhood full of children. Instead of using humor, talking and making positive connections to motivate the children to take better care of their belongings. She met them with hostility, threats, which only antagonized them more and brought a negative focus on herself. Any sympathy the children might have had for her was erased by her hostile approach whenever she confronted the children.
I know I am right that this woman, based on how she addressed children did insite this mother's anger. Though I do not believe a black mother would risk her freedom or her life to assault an old white woman. They have been going back and forth with the police making no progress.
I just wish mom picked up on how many old white people own guns and how too many of them want to shoot people to gain privileges that are not realistic.
Well, sadly, we had to build jails hoping to educate those headstrong so wrong individuals. It isn't their country it is our country. Please catch up.

That’s right so ridiculous that it happened. There are two things that led to this tragedy that could’ve been avoided completely number one the fact that the children continuously played over by her house and you know how kids can be especially if it’s okayed by their parents they should’ve been told not to go over there just to avoid any of the BS that was going on and number two in these cases where the police are called on numerous occasions for neighborhood spats they really need to put a stricter law into place to avoid this happening, it happens all the time.

There was no evidence that Susan was cruel to the CHILDREN. The CHILDREN mostly likely started to mouth off when the old lady asked them to keep the noise down or to move away from her house, which was well within her rights. I don't know what stories the CHILDREN told the mother, but the mother should have remained calm and waited to hear the old lady's side of the story. CHILDREN call each other names all the time, and adults call CHILDREN names when the CHILDREN are misbehaving or talking smack. It happens, there's no need to fly off the handle and start threatening people with violence.

She used to call the cops for every little single foolishness she felt she was a victim of, and when she really needed to call the cops "because she felt scared for her life", she decided they were good for nothing and relied on a firearm. No congruence there between the chronological facts and her alleged defense. Quite apparent she premeditated an escalation like the one in question. Understandably, the prosecution were afraid they would not be able to prove that premeditation, so they went for manslaughter; but, it was evident she ruminated and had thought about doing what she did beforehand.

That alone, was not enough to convict her. It's a totality of circumstances. Considering their past history of antagonizing each other. Mostly the defendant. But what really got her is that she shot through a closed door and there was no opportunity for the dead lady to put her in fear of grave bodily harmer death. That's why it's manslaughter. Because her use of deadly force was not justified.

    • @HighPower762

@@Psalm-Singing-Old-Biddybecause, as I just explained, the dead woman had no ability or opportunity to commit grave bodily harm against the defendant. If this AJ woman had kicked down the door or it was starting to give way, that would be a different story. Then Florida's castle doctrine law comes into force. But none of that happened. I'm not sure what's relevant about the Trayvon Martin case here. They're completely different cases. In George Zimmerman was rightfully acquitted. Unlike this woman, he did have a valid self-defense case. The biggest difference being, that at the time Zimmerman shot Martin, according to one witness, "he had him on the ground and was grounding impounding him, MMA style." So therefore Zimmerman had a reasonable fear that his life was an imminent otherwise unavoidable danger of grave bodily armor death. That is literally the letter of the law. In this case, the victim was never in a position to threaten this woman with grave bodily harm her death because he was behind a locked door.

@@christianvalle4188exactly! Her problem wasn't that she got a gun. The problem was that she shot through a heavy and locked the door. That's not justifiable use of deadly force. It might be under different circumstances, but there was no way this woman was going to break the door down. Whenever I get a door knock late at night, I always come to the door with a gun. And this woman did dial 911. She'd have been better off if she waited for the cops to show up. But unfortunately, sometimes by the time the cops get there, they're only there to chalk the dead bodies. That's also why I go to the door armed. But I know enough not to shoot through a locked door coincidentally, if she had opened the door, and AJ stepped into her house, she would have been justified in shooting her under Florida's castle doctrine law.
