The funny thing is that the feds tried to infiltrate and agitate a local Russian church in my area and the whole congregation found it obvious. So, almost the whole congregation ended up trolling the fed agents.

I know a Priest, who knows a priest who received a call from a female parishnor at 3am in the morning, telling him she was going to commit suicide unless he met her. The priest had the sense to call the parish council president to come with him and thank God he did. The woman was staying in a hotel, and when the priest went to the door the woman opened it naked and jumped on him. A man with a camera was standing nearby. Blackmail can happen. and this was in the USA.

It happens all the time as people in the USA have lost their moral compass. I am an American, and I say that. Our founders were dead set against any government interference with religion. This is why our smart founders kept the government out of religion for all the reasons outlined in this video. Honey Traps are godless and anyone doing it should be prosecuted and kept in a labor camp forever. Another reason I can't stand communist and any of the three letter agencies in the West that imitate them.

That is why keeping government out of religion is imperative. In the USA, we have a majority of people who are still Christian despite the modern world. Many people do not answer polls, so I know the number of 60% is low. There are many Christians who avoid polls and society in general for these reasons.

Anyway after liturgy everytime i asked him about were he lived, what he did, etc, he pulled out flashcards in russian that roughly said things like football, apple pie,or my favorite "California is the best city in Florida ". He was really convincing too until he shooked the hand of my greek priest and said "you must be from northen cyprus". My priest and everyone looked at him and collectivly beat the shiz out of him and feed him to baal, that really made me go WOW.

I would wish russian agents (or any other agents for that matter) good luck in many small parishes in the UK, they might have some luck in a few parishes, but in the other parishes esspecaly where the Presbyter is an atentive shepherd they will get little. In many parishes I know politics is not discussed beyound the injuction to pray for all involved and conversations revole around liturgical theology, catichisam or how to help young people be involed in parish life, or possibly mission.
It is a real risk we who have had it easy in the west must be aware of though, not just agents of goverments but also of our spiritual enemy since the times of persicution will arise again. That is why the Church had door keepers (helpers for the deacon who had the job of making shore they knew who was in the church and who the faithful were) to keep the little flock of Christ safe.

In the case of the Russian Orthodox Church -- I understand each country has its own Orthodox hierarchy (except Ukraine which was under the ROC until recently when it is establishing its own hierarchy) so one cannot make statements about the Orthodox Church as a whole but only about the hierarchy.
In any case, it's understood that when Stalin reestablished the Russian Orthodox Church, it was as a direct part of the government and most/all of the priests were KGB agents. Then, as the USSR dissolved and became the Russian Federation, that arrangement stayed in place.
Therefore one has to question whether ROCOR-affiliated churches outside Russia are outposts of Russian secret services.
Further, in April/May 2022 there was an open letter signed by over 1500 Orthodox theologians using theological phrases to say that the Russian Orthodox Church is -- I think the correct words are anathema and/or heretical -- due to how it is used in support of Russia's genocidal war upon Ukraine.

Aren't orthodox just going to be more sympathetic to Russia, especially given American cultural and religious influence and what it means. The Orthodox Church has been subordinated to the state since the time of the Christian emperors of Rome, the Anglican church has been this way since the reformation, the Catholic church only remained independent due to fabricating legitimacy with the donations of Constantine, and even then it has been a mixed history. The main difference I see now is that the state is not lead by a consecrated Christian monarchy but by the rich, powerful and evil.
In my experience most serious Christians are very to the right and thus support Russia merely out of the recognition of America as their enemy, interesting this view seems to be spreading among many American Christians as well. Obviously intelligence work will be going on, but it always is and is probably more rife from the Americans as they have a much greater focus on shaping culture, the Russians seem to not be very subtle. If it is anything like the Anglican church the whole hierarchy of bishops are somewhere between apostasy and Satanism, however I have the impression that things are much worse than among the Orthodox or Catholics as the rot is not so all encompassing. Certainly the fact that you can push against schism means that you are not already in the situation where it is either that or schism with God. For example how is anything I do as a Christian in the Church valid when my priest is a woman, my bishop a gay activist, my archbishop a heretic and my King a divorcee lover of spiritualist nonsense.

One of the real issues that makes American Orthodoxy very different to Orthodoxy elsewhere is the separation of people into conservative and liberal. This brings about two tribes and you only really associate with or believe in your tribe. It exists over religious denomination and in fact seems more important that religion (repentance and praise of God). So you talk about 'right thinking, conservative Christians = true' and 'liberal, woke, leftist Christians = controlled by Satan''. It is extremely unhelpful and divisive. Left and right are no-longer applicable, both are manipulated by the ruling powers to smugly believe in their own righteousness. And whilst people are manipulated and fighting amongst themselves, the ruling class are perfectly happy!
Anyone who cares to get out of this trap and thinks for themselves soon sees a very different picture. Support for Russia across the world is disproportionately from countries with socialist/communist sympathies, including within Russia itself where they are the second largest party and supportive of the SMO. Now the conservative , right-thinking American has to get his head round this and ask himself, why? Just perhaps, the smug classifications that define their identities may in fact be manufactured, non-nonsensical and imaginary.
We are sinners, that is our identity.
