Thanks for uploading a video and taking extra time to help others understand the steps.
U welcome
Using the tube in the box that looks like a toilet paper roll is the best and fastest way to compress the thermostat.
Its more then one way to skin a car
Thanks for your time in uploading this video. I have a Chevy Cruze that has a similar housing.
U welcome
For compressing the thermostat spring to get in the slots on the housing you can use a socket and extension to compress it then turn the ears in the slots with pliers or flathead.
That work as well more then 1 way to skin a cat. Thank u for the feedback
@samedayautodetroit So when putting the thermostat insto the housing there ahould have been a tube (its called an insert tool).that you use to push down on the spring and then turn to get the thermostat tabs under the housing tabs 13:48
I used 2 screwdrivers and pliers to set it
It should come with the thermostat looks like a toilet paper tube but thicker. I still liked the video for showing the close ups and posible was to make things work without spending more money.
Appreciate the video
U welcome
Thanks for making the video. It was good camera work knowing how tight everything is down there. I'm just going to bite the bullet as it looks like more than I'm willing to put in time wise. Thanks brother
You welcome its tight for sure.

You welcome
How did you get that bottom bolt out? Its too long theres no room for it to come out

W video! what gave you the idea to replace it. we got the same car engine temp seems to go up and seeing smoke intermittently. this seems simple as a first step to try and replace
Her temp was going up and down
@@samedayautodetroit thanks! once you got a new one installed do you need to add coolant and bleed the system?
@@kalebcantrell7468 add coolant for sure. It was good
Should I replace the housing at the same time?
yes why u got it apart.
Good video but it's a lil too dark
I swear Chevy intentionally makes everything hard to get to. This will be the first and last Chevy I buy.
It’s not Chevy. It’s the kind of SUV. Almost every crossover SUV you look at will have the motor installed sideways with the pulley system facing the passenger side.
Lol that job was a nitemare
That's some funny shit
Where is the part when you take it out you skipped that
Which part
