      It's not without color grading, it's just graded using different more natural colors, you can see by how strong the redish and purple tint are in the new grade.

    There's a problem with heavy color grading. Looks fine on stills but when it's a moving picture of REAL LIFE it becomes too much, too grating. You can use it on intense segments, it's good for that too. But when it's the entire thing, it makes me want to turn off the stupid thing, because color takes me out of experience! Like my TV got broken and shows colors funny... I physically can't get over that. It's been now how many years, I remember first noticing this when watching Inglorious Basterds. It was too blue, too contrasty. Part of me was resentful, and it still is. And I loved the movie! Still do. I bet that people who can't watch movies in black and white feel the same way. I much prefer Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs which were LIT FUNNY instead of image being edited for color and contrast.

    The choice of the greenish color grading in this movie cinematography helps to portrait a world of discomfort and madness , a world that is crazy enough to turn a straight man to the Joker.. basically colors can't be normal because it's a world from the Joker's point of view

    Would love to see you add red halation in it. I don’t like the cinematography of joker that much it’s too on the nose,but it think they really nailed it to replicate the film stock look. Especially color and grain texture in the shot. The pinkish skin tone is definitely fascinating.

    I would prefer the 70's - 80's look of the edited version if there were scenes in daylight or other moments where the lighting looked more colorful. I think the contrast of seeing bright moments along with the sad or tragic ones, makes the whole thing more powerful. But looking at the edited version, it is clear that they were going for a hopeless tone from the beginning, the bluish color grading just was like the cherry on top.

  • @DethronerX
    @DethronerX 9 месяцев назад +1

    Crazy, the "uncolored" version looks more like film than the original one. I know they shot digital and then converted it to film, but original still looks nothing like film and your version has that film look with the magenta and no stupid digital teal and orange lol

  • @nitroxylictv

    It feels way less emotional and more sterile instead of over emotional and dirty. That is the opposite of joker. He went from a sociopath to having psychosis. If it leaned even more into the analogous color grading and was less saturated and darker I think it would add a terrifying element to the movie.

  • @JaggedMercenary

    Just my opinion, but I find it a MILLION times better WITHOUT color grading.
    God I wish directors gave us the possibility to switch it off on blurays or something.
