I Recreated Homelander’s Horrifying Plane Laser Scene from The Boys | VFX Breakdown
In this video, I recreated Homelander’s horrifying plane laser scene from The Boys season 1 episode 4 using VFX. The Boys is a popular superhero series that features Homelander, the leader of The Seven, a group of corrupt and powerful Supes. Homelander has the ability to fly and shoot lasers from his eyes, among other powers. In this scene, he lasered the cockpit of a hijacked plane and left all the passengers to die.
I used Blender and After Effects to create this VFX remake. You can watch the timelapse of how I added the plane, the flying body model, creating the thunderstorm atmosphere, added the laser effects,, and composited the final shot.
I hope you enjoy this VFX project and appreciate the work that goes into creating realistic and shocking scenes like this.
