Sewing my first project...chose medium instead of large pattern. This should give more room for my wide hips. Thank you nice person, for giving me the courage to give this split a try.
I personally prefer the 'long winded' tutorials because I learn more from them if they are being spoken and filmed at the same time. Thank you! I am going to bust out some hepburn hems tonight.
thank you so much!!! I'm working on a shirt with a split at the cuff, and the directions just said, "finish the edges" and I couldn't figure out how to do it neatly for the life of me. this explained it so clearly :D
@@cdugan88 Rather than pronouncing it as "arms-eye" it should be more like Arm-sigh with the emphasis on arm rather than sigh. (The "sc" in armscye is pronounced more like a snake's "Ssss" rather than a sleepy dwarf's "Zzzz".) :-) You probably already know that by now but perhaps some people reading the comments were not sure either so this might help them.
This is the BEST video I have ever seen on these seams and it finally makes sense to me after so many attempts! Thank you!
I'm so glad that you found it helpful! Happy sewing!

Good job Christina. Armscye = Arms-Eye! Have a great day!
Haha, thank you for the proper pronunciation! I should actually remember it if I think of it that way.

Thank you thank you thank you- been trying to do this on my own for my tops that fall too long and tight on my hips and could not get it :)
Did you use a cover stitch machine for the bottom hem?
I did! I have a Janome Coverpro 1000cpx
Accidentally burned my brand new shirt at the hem line. Hope this works😅
Oh noo haha, fingers crossed the split hem gives it a second chance!
