I was literally just thinking that and went to see if anyone commented on it lol... plus I dunno how you could go for a plain cold wrap regardless of toppings when those delicious fresh baguettes are up there, that's just me.. at least get it toasted!
its because in europe, we have such high quality foods, we dont need sauce on and over everything. if you have ham from well hold pigs and you have real cheese from one of the european cheeseries and a bit of this and a bit of that, you simply dont need sauce. the ham alone is so juicy, that it makes your sandwich everything but dry. im just assuming you are american. correct me if im wrong.
As someone who owns a breakfast/lunch deli in the States. Some of the lite options are common with butter and get it a few times a day. Someone orders off-the-wall combos from movies and shows once a week. The oddest sandwich is from a John Candy movie "Delirious" and is lox, cream cheese, and capers on cinnamon raisin swirl bread. If I have the ingredients to make it they're not going to waste food and pay. I'm ok with doing odd requests for customers. But the people getting dry sandwiches is what gets me, how can you eat it dry? We have people who request sandwiches they see on TikTok from a place in Italy. Bread, burrata with mortadella, and nothing else. So people are aware that no one in Italy eats a sandwich with 85% dry bread on it. They're making fun of the sandwiches in Italian and it's funny to read. Mr. T would have a beyond-popular deli/cafe on his own. He is accommodating gives great portions and runs a grill with ease and it's kept amazing. Someone complained that you're not supposed to clean it that much daily. It's not cast iron and that's how its supposed to be kept.
Something about lox, cream cheese, and capers on cinnamon raisin swirl bread... sounds oddly appealing, need to try making it! Much more appetizing than dry bread sandwiches
Have you ever done a video on the premade items that go on the deli bar like the cheese mixture or the cole slaw or the different styles of chichen? I love deli and prep videos!
😂 I feel you on the gloves, lol I volunteer at a non-profit agency when I'm not working and help with cooking the food. The gloves they use are always medium, because it's mostly females in the kitchen. When I try to put them on, they always rip 😂 Me and the security guard that helps serve started bringing our own gloves lol
Hello Chef, I’ve been watching your videos for some time now, and I love them. I do however have one question, what’s in the “cheese mix “ that is often very popular on deli day?
I think he mentioned previously that it was a mix of shredded cheeses (cheddar, mozzarella etc) with mayonnaise as a binder and tomato, red pepper and sometimes onion or chilli
I believe I’ve seen before that it’s one of those dissolving logo stickers from the company that provides the inventory for this canteen. It dissolves / is edible. Consider it the company’s corporate version of cake decorating.
@@supertwillson Nope -- unless they don't think it shows up and thus won't waste it? I don't recall flavor choices being mentioned by Chef T when he described it as a dissolving logo.
It seems like nobody orders the salami/pepperoni type things at the front in these videos ;( Pickles and Mushrooms being a tiny bit more popular and the old Beetroot thriving the most out of the dark house selections x)
@freedomfan4272 it seems to be used on multiple things straight from the tin as they say. Watched someone put beans on a potato with coleslaw and cheese. Jellied eels are by far the grossest food people from the UK eat. They bash grilled cheese sandwiches when an American brings up the gross food in the UK.
Having worked in several NYC delis, your sandwich wrapping "technique" makes me shudder! LOL. Other than that, great job! Side note: You might consider wrapping the sandwich (and wraps, too) with a thinner wax paper and then cutting it down the middle. It helps to keep everything intact. Then wrap it in the nicer, thicker wrapper. It also makes eating cleaner as diners can gradually peel off the inner paper as they consume. Another nice technique is to tuck the flaps inside the bottom opening. It will make the end product look kempt. Applying both of these techniques will result in a neater and a more efficient method of eating.

Man at least put some sort of salad I am shocked to see how people are eating just chicken without any salad That is just so plain, bland and boring. How do they even manage to digest their food in the first place And lastly, if I am going to pay to eat outside then I prefer my food to be a lot warmer
Please let us know where we may send a get well card because you are obviously unwell ! Bread baguettes have been freshly heated and have a crunchy crust with a soft interior. You can even see the divots left by his fingertips in the soft interior. If anything it should be toasted a wee bit more brown.
the cross contamination is crazy, imagine a Muslim or Jewish person wanted the cheese mix but he's using the same spoon that touched the ham? surely its not hard to use 2 different spoons
Mr T serves bacon at the breakfast bar - so moot point :). Depending on the necessity and numbers the Muslim/Jewish staff might bring their own food or frequent another establishment or there might a seperate serving area with their own fryers and cutlery.
i dont usually judge peoples choices but the person who got a wrap with JUST cajun chicken and absolutely nothing else is definitely a serial killer
😆

Don't you know, thats gourmet cuisine in the UK!
But what about boiled egg and tomato wrap?
😅😅
Mr. T has never messed up a sandwich, but his customers sure have😂
He has. On one occasion he put the wrong chicken in for the customer.
@@asgharmohammad7375😂😂
Nice Chef - some decent portion sizing on the bread - at my canteen the filling runs across the bread like Usain Bolt.
👌😂👍
Awesome job chef you and your kitchen staff you all work together as a team to make the customers happy
Every dish is prepared as though you were his favourite customer ❤
Fabulous looking baguettes. Not too soft, not too hard.
as always a great Video ❤❤❤ happy weekend, ma man!
Haha it’s funny seeing what some people order. Some mental combos!
I love your videos so much! So relaxing. What I cannot understand is how/why so many people don’t say “please” and/or “thank you” 🤯
I'm going out on a limb and saying that this is much better than Subway.
I never get how so many customers have Zero sauce in their wraps/sandwiches lol

The video is from the uk.. they dump burger sauce and mayo in everything. @@Infbat97
That fresh bread looks so good , nice and crunchy
That isn't fresh dude. From frozen I believe.
@@asgharmohammad7375 It's still pretty good for something that was frozen

@hdo4ever I'm not a raisins fan but did it with cinnamon swirl bread and it wasn't bad. Capers broke the sweetness up just enough.
I was so happy to see a new video! But my favorite is your home videos.. but both are great❤!! Have a great day!

Here in the states people want sandwiches a half inch thick with meat.
I like thin single layer fillings because I don’t want my sandwiches to have a “meat brick” to gnaw through or open my jaw like a python.

How else would you cut a sub?
Best looking = ham and egg mayo. Strangest = cheese + hot peppers on baguette.
It’s the raw cucumber on a sandwich/wrap or sub that’s different for me. Lol
For me, it was strange to see a wrap with a sour cream base, two sliced hard-boiled eggs with tomato and a side order of salsa!
please, leave this to the professionals for once I beg of you, even
