Mine came Bangood with the brand name W-NEW. I fell into the same trap I've fallen foul of a couple of times before ordering Chinesium goods. I didn't read the description properly and initially received just the fence - which is not a lot of use by itself. It was excellent quality though, so I immediately ordered the mitre gauge part (with brass handle, because it looks so beautiful, and low and behold it arrived barely two weeks later. The first part must have taken several months to turn up, and they take your money up front. Anyway, I put it together and was pleased with my purchase, and it still cost me a fraction of what an Incra mitre gauge would cost. I was not sure what the wee fingers were for on the fence, so I turned to RUclips and discovered a massive bonus discovering they turned the part into a box cutting jig. I have a shop made box cutting jig, but it does not produce super tight joints and I've never got round to fixing it, but it looks a piece of cake with this tool. Mine came with an invisibility cloak - it just took me a good ten minutes to find it, and my shop is relatively tidy at the moment. I wish it folded up a wee bit tighter for storage. You can get a bit straighter by removing the big brass knob, but then it will take even longer to find both parts. It's surprisingly heavy, and really solid, and even though I had to buy mine twice, it is still excellent value for money.
That's a very sharp looking miter gauge! I've always like ones that are indexed like that with the detents. Never had one, but always liked them. Shop is looking better with each video and really coming together nicely!
Hi I just purchased this product about a week ago for my 7491. It will be about a month before I get it. Have you made any use of the box joint jig yet? Would love to see a video.
So you made two straight cuts (at 7:15-7:25 in the video timeline) on the piece of timber that was mitered on both ends and then you checked miterred corner fit? What did you demonstrate there really? Also work on your camera positioning, there is no need to block the camera with your body half of the time.
Hey man.. I bought the bare Mitre Gauge myself a couple months ago but my table saw's slots are too Narrow atm. I'm going to upgrade to a Dewalt next bcos somebody told me u can get very accurate cuts if u set it up right?? I really want to get me one of those Cast Iron table saws but the AUK Axminster ones are 1100W or a little bigger but this Dewalt is 1850W's and more powerful imo. Can I ask u how the table top is bro?? Is it fairly flat/level or do these saws come a bit hit and miss where the tops and mitre tracks are concerned?? I really want to get one but here in Ireland they're 700 Euros or more atm. They'rte much more expensive than in the US.. I think I might get the Dewalt this month anyways and take a punt on it bcos the saw I have the mitre tracks mean I cannot use the mitre bars I bought for sleds and all of that good stuff.. Thanks for this great video my bro. Keep up the great content. I have gotten some nice tools off that Banggood site. When ur channel grows a little more u should ask them for some tools to review.. They can only ever say no so it wouldn't hurt to ask pal.. Take care mate.. Salute from Dublin, IRE!
Thanks Slim, my table top was perfectly flat out of the box. No problems whatsoever, but I have heard a few people complain about it not be perfectly flat. I think for the most part they are, but YMMV. Good to get a comment from Dublin.
Nice one. I was wondering if it scratches your table at all? I have same saw and don't like the one that came with it. Just wonder if it scratches the table. Thanks man
One comment and a few questions for you....1. The DrillPro mitre gauge you reviewed looks quite impressive, and I am leaning toward purchasing one also for my table based on your and others comments/reviews. You were very helpful. One comment I'd make is that I noticed that you show your 45 deg. mitered cuts to be spot on; however, your video only shows you cutting 90 degree cross cuts with the DrillPro which doesn't prove the accuracy of the 45 miter cuts. Did you happen to edit that out? Secondly, I have a Dewalt Model DWE 7480 table saw which varies slightly from yours in that the surface area between the front of the blade and the front edge of the table appears less than your model. Do you have any problems with the bottom of the miter head catching on the edge of your table as it approaches and slides toward the front of the table if it starts its approach from the outside of the table? Lastly, is there anything you do to prevent or minimize tear out? For example, with the metal fence, can you install a sacrificial wood fence in front or behind it for a zero clearance cutout? I'm not sure if I'm making any sense here :) but I thought I'd ask. Thanks!
Hey David, yeah I made 45 degree cuts. I'm not the best video editor. I cut stuff out like that often and don't realize it. This mitre gauge has a built-in sacrificial layer of plastic for zero clearance cuts. I haven't noticed any catches as the fence approaches the outside of the table. I think the trick is to make sure you have a nice snug fit in the track.
Thank you, I just got this Saw and newly subscribed. I'll look to see if you have any recommendations for diy infeed and outfeed tables for this saw. This is my first video from your channel.
Like that miter gauge... Are you still like the DeWalt Saw? Looking at replacing my 18 year old Ryobi Bt3100. It still is working but parts are hard to find and as I redo my shop I want to build a saw into a work station. Looked at the hybrid but not sure if I want to use that much space up. I build mainly small items and cut my plywood outside before I take it into my shop. My main concern is the fence. I have used a t-fence for years so I looked at the Ridgid contractors pro saw but have heard the fence is an issue. Your thoughts? Thanks
Hey Reginald, I absolutely love this saw. It's the best one I've ever owned (of course that's not saying much). Once you get the fence on this saw dialed in, you never have to make sure it's square again. The cuts are perfect everytime just going off the guage. On my old Ridgid contractors saw with a T fence, I had to square it with one of those triangle squares everytime I moved it. None of that with this saw. Keep in mind this is still a contractor's saw, but it's a pretty nice one.
@@TheWoodHaven Thank you for responding. My Ryobi was more like a contractors saw with a permanent stand. Only has a rip of 24 inches. I had taken the stand off to incorporate it into a table. I build jewelry boxes, crosses and small items for rural Churches for their children's camps. My main need is something that cut straight. Love to have a hybrid but my shop is only 16x20 and I like to have space to work... don't like having to move stuff around. Going to order the DrillPro to... it will help with my boxes... great vid by the way.
Hello, I am going to buy the same miter gauge for the same saw, but only without Box joint jig = with common fence. Just thinking about length of the fence 600mm or 800mm. Do you have any suggestion or any advice what is better length? Thanks
As a new 7491 owner, I've enjoyed all of your videos on this topic! Regarding this mitre gauge ... you mentioned something about using the fence for box joints. Did you ever have a chance to create that video, or if not, do you have any recommendations for videos on making box joints w/a table saw? Thanks!
Hey Mike, I haven't had a chance to try that feature out yet, but here is a good video that takes you through that: ruclips.net/video/CuxkGwwC3Ic/видео.html Thanks for watching.
Hi, was just looking at your video and went searching on the net for where I can purchase this device from here in Australia. No luck!!! Can you send me a link to the supplier please? Many Thanks
Hi. I just bought this but there's a lot of play in my Dewalt 4791 even when I tighten the screws to expand the plastic rings. What is the width of the slot on your dewalt 7491? I measured mine and it's 19.6mm. The miter gauge only expands to about 19.3mm. Can you confirm with what you have? Thank you so much!
I bought a similar Chinese one from Amazon. It is very low quality, I rated it 1 star and tried to return it. This one may be an exception, but I doubt.
Just got mine, and was watching the other video where he was doing the box joint jig, but I noticed me must have cut out the black part of the fence to allow the blade to go completely thru that fence.
When starting a cut with the gauge off the table, do you have to lift the gauge slightly to get it onto the table? The track on my DWE7491RS is deeper than 3/8" (it's about 0.400"). When trying an Incra27 gauge I had to lift it slightly to get it onto the table. Is that the case with this miter gauge too?
Lifting would work, but I've found if I just hold it level, it slides past the edge ok. If I let it tilt to one side or the other, it does need to be lifted.
@@TheWoodHaven thanks it is a shame dewalt has such a nice saw and such a poor miter gauge. The short extension cord was frustrating but that was an easy fix.
Brilliant -good to hear from you. I've been toying with the idea of getting one. I shall look forward to that video and whether you use both the sliders or treat them as one slider which I've seen others do
Me too :). I didn't make any 45 degree cuts. I get in the middle of these videos and forget to do things like that until after it's published. Sorry about that.
I'm happy with this folding work bench. I keep it in the garage and have used it several times. It's sturdy and I like the clamp rails.

yes

Wouldn't really know since I already have a ton of scratches.

For me personally, I like the longer length for more stability, but I can see where the shorter length would be better for some.
I might get one now. I was having doubts, cause it's from banggood, but this reassures me that it's legit.
