- PNSO returns! And what an interesting choice! This is Lufengosaurus, a basal sauropodomorph and one of China's best known dinosaurs. It's a delight for any sauropod lover, but the vibrant colours makes it a delight for anybody!
I'm fortunate enough to have visited the Lufeng Dinosaur Museum and have been longing for a good Lufengosaurus ever since. I found the first PNSO model just too skinny to buy. Very pleasing to see an interesting colour scheme from PNSO. Let's hope they keep it up! A good Plateosaurus from one of the companies is near the top of my list too.
We dinosaur collectors are spoiled by good models like this these days!
@elizabethpendleton2401
Absolutely agree with you. Even in PNSO's early days, I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger because it was just too spindly. It would have been nice to have it for comparison here though, just as a show for how far PNSO has come. If Plateosaurus comes along, I would be over the moon. This would really be the second year of the sauropod!
Awesome! Great model and yes a fantastic way to return. I also hope this is a sign that PNSO will explore other groups and other color schemes.
Yes... but PNSO does seem to be really quiet compared to HLG. I hope they are ok. If you look at Zhao Chuang's work you will see why I'm puzzled as to why PNSO doesn't give us much nicer paint jobs on their models. Zhao Chuang certainly has no lack of ideas!
At last a proto sauropod! Exactly what's been missing from the collection!
Yes! Now if someone would just throw in a Plateosaurus...
I ordered one! I love early sauropodomorphs so much so I'm beyond happy that PNSO decided to do one.
I'm sure you would have received yours by now, and realised that my video didn't do it justice! Nothing like having it in hand seen under natural light!
You're right , I don't want to see another theropod anytime soon, either.😂 something not done before like a Scelidosaurus . I've not collected any of the sea dwelling dinosaurs as of yet and hoping something will catch my eye and go get myself one to start. The classic plesiosaur might just be the one to start with! 😊
I think it would be really sweet if they really gave us a 1:35 Scelidosaurus, or even a Scutellosaurus. We need more basal representations of more popular clades!
It's sad really. A couple of years ago, I predicted PNSO would give us a plesiosaur since they already gave us the Kronosaurus, and they also started a run of Instagram posts on sea reptiles. Too bad it has never happened. I wouldn't be surprised if HLG gave us one!
@DinosDragons absolutely right , it would be sweeter than honey if they gave us other species other than the usual. I notice that most brands try to stay away from the sea dwelling dinosaurs except for PNSO who came out with a few but then it died off. I don't have any in my collection to date. HLG has stayed away from sea reptiles for some reason. Their 2024 list has none as of yet. Seems PNSO is going to release a Maiasaur instead with a baby which is a first for them .
This looks great. I, too, would love to see a well produced Plateosaurus as well as other pro sauropods.
I would be over the moon with a Plateosaurus! One of the more consistent representative dinosaurs in all the old dinosaur books!
Astonishing details for a mass-produced figure of such a small size! Dinosaur toys have come a long way in the last couple of years.
They definitely have! It's really amazing how spoilt we are today. 10 years or so ago you could only get something like what PNSO or HLG offer now in specialty offerings, such as a built kit or Sideshow.
PNSO seriously never fails to disappoint, this looks absolutely beautiful. I’d love to see more sauropodomorphs like Plateosaurus or Massospondylus in the future
For sure! Sauropodomorphs are any serious sauropod fan's dream. But I can see that some of them will be hard to stick to 1:35.
In terms of sauropodomorph models I think a Sauroposeidon, Massospondylus, Omeisaurus and Paralititan would be cool. Heck maybe even an Eoraptor.
I absolutely agree! I would want Massospondylus and Paralititan, two extreme opposite in sizes! Eoraptor would definitely be a very interesting choice as well, but I think as HLG increases its fandom, it can afford to take these risks like PNSO used to.
PNSO is back with a banger. And who would have thought it would be this gorgeous? Wow, I'm shocked. This Lufengosaurus is by far the best Lufengosaurus figure I've ever seen. And after their theropod run, I think they've decided to grace us with more beautiful and perfect figures. I loved this amazing review as always, my dear sir. But I miss the science part. Keep up the fantastic work. I wish you nothing but the absolute best, my dear sir. You are the best. 🖤
Thank you Rajitha! Unfortunately, an empty room creates an unpleasant hollow sound and so much of it was too horrid to listen to, that I ended up deciding to just save that commentary for when a Plateosaurus really comes up!
The paint apps on this are beautiful, and really remind me of that Tsintaosaurus. I hope they can do more! Even something 'simpler' like their Meraxes was splendid!
Great review as always! HLG Edmontosaurus next plz!!
I'm afraid I have also lost this one in transit. It's like ten days overdue now! 😪
Adding this one to my wishlist!
Love the colours and it's very cute!
The pigmented scleras are certainly a choice :P Though not above the realm of possibility. Some animals with pigmented scleras can have them be a reddish brown like that.
Or, alternatively, you could say that the pigment is actually the iris, just that it's too big to allow you to see the limbal ring or sclera in the animal's current eye position.
I know I can always count on you so say something intelligent and illuminating, especialy about eyes! 😁😁
It was a refreshing and updated change from their old PNSO Lufengo, which I thought was the weirdest thing I ever saw 😅 they've grown and improved since with all their models. Truly wonder what their next release would be 🤔 badajasaurus , Concavenator (Papo's version was terrible), or the plateosaurus, as you mentioned 😊
I'm really so happy to see PNSO offering more diverse releases that at this point, anything except another theropod, or at least, tyrannosauroid, I would be very happy! I am also hoping for a long overdue plesiosaur!
The paint is soo lovely
It is incredible! Reminds me of the Tsintaosaurus.
Finally! A ‘Prosauropod’ from PNSO! And she’s a beauty! Also, do you know anything about those extant animals that PNSO are teasing? Like the Komodo Dragon, Wolf etc?
I don't know. I usually get news when my supplier sends out a Wechat mesage! But if they're as good as their past extant animals, I might get the komodo... I don't even have one!
Would have loved to see it compared to the lingwulong, nevertheless great review and it came so fast ! Looking forward to getting this one, but I will say is this figure accurate??? Missed the science part a bit
I was surprised by the lack of a science section too.
Thank you for your support! Unfortunately, because of how echoey my place is now, the recording for the science part was extremely painful to listen to. So I'll have to save part of it for when we actually have a Plateosaurus. In fact I have to go somewhere else for the next review I am in the middle of doing. 😪
@@DinosDragons understandable, in short would you say this figure is accurate ? Good luck with everything going on in the room
Because PNSO hasn't released any dromaeosaurids yet.
Too small for 1:30 I guess
That is sure a glaringly missing and obvious clade!
I'm so gonna put that on my shelve just falsely claiming it is a plateisaurus ^^
Haha well you could do that but there are quite obvious differences. If ever they come up with a Plateosaurus, I think that would be something interesting to talk about!
@@DinosDragons Which are the biggest differences (other than the geological time in which they were living)...?
Pesanan Lufengosaurus ku masih menunggu. Rasanya tidak sabar 😆
Haha I hope you have received it already by now! I suppose you had to order it online? Last time I visited Indonesia (if that's where you're from) I didn't see any dinosaur models on sale.
Unfortunately, my HLG Edmontosaurus got lost in the mail 😭😭
