- Here we go again, more and more Street Fighter 6 Season 2 Balance Patch Previews! This time put out by Capcom directly, we got a hint of some changes for every single character so lets explain everything and go through every change for you!

Ok I know we are talking a lot about the SF6 patch lol, but this is the news and Capcom loves drip feeding it so until we get the full patch notes I guess this is how its gonna be! Capcom put out an official preview of the patch, showcasing 1-2 changes for every character, so lets go into detail and break down every single change shown in this patch preview trailer! Give the vid a watch, like for those handy timestamps that let you skip to the character you wanna see, and let me know what you think!
Bruh, the only reason I'd do that combo into Lvl3/CA for Dhalsim is if I'm at full OD bars, my opponents health is less than 35%, and I did a punsh counter with St. HK. Other than that, why would any smart Dhalsim player do that and immediately go right into burn out, plus his damage scales a ton off of 2 DR cancels!!! 🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤬🤬🤬🤬

You're the first person I thought of when they released this trailer, would prefer full notes rather than the drip feed but it's better than leaving us in the dark

God the patch is like the 22nd, yet at this rate i feel like im gonna make like 4 more vids before we get the actual patch notes lol. The teases are nice, i get the marketing behind it, but let us finally eat our supper and release the full patch notes!
Honestly I skipped all the other stuff, since it wasn't "official" sources for the changes and all mostly speculative, and once the update drops they're gonna go over it all again anyway.

Happy to see the Kim and Ryu changes. The fact they couldn't do what was shown out the gate always baffled me
Wake up reversals are a godsend for me. If they want to keep throw loops, its nice to have a good counter to them.
Be aware of jumps,and depending watch out for them block it

I'm loving the slow reveal. I'm just so excited. I'm glad even Ken and Luke are getting buffs... I don't want anyone to be miserable on patch day, and I also am hopeful they haven't listened to a single word of discourse tbh. I think the game started great and I trust them to improve it on their own.
The rashid change is actually dope. It was annoying when level 1 wouldn’t connect even with a punish counter confirm. Now that it can cancel into level 3, run slide is worth doing
I’m a big rashid fan but not that good and struggle to beat good and bad players with him at times. I’d like to maybe see a couple more buffs to help him with neutral, his throw range, and his air special.
@@YMan-zo5kg seeing his air special get changed would be dope. Making it less easy to stuff out would make me so happy. I think he’s really strong where he’s at though. He might not have the biggest buttons but his neutral is super strong when you get used to all his tools. Of course I’ll never say no to buffs
Fellow rashid main, make his hk not be minus for a million years, nerf level 2, make anti airs more consistent. Besides that, he's solid. (Huge buff that level 3)
Big fan of Target Combos being useful for stuff now. It was starting to feel like target combos were just some ancient thing they kept in the game that has no real purpose.
Us Jamie players have been eating GOOD with his target combo. I feel like Luke players as well

The Ed couch LP change is MASSIVE. It's far more impactful and practical than those expensive+situational combos shown earlier.

@@rawrebel3883tbh hes not wrong... getting that crouch jab from -5 to -3 allows ed to use one of his fastest buttons and not eat a potential punish afterwards. its not exciting, but it is cool that he's safer on a move like that
For Dhalsim, it looks like his level 3 post patch freezes the screen for the combo ender; you can see very briefly that Honda doesn't move before he gets hit by the level 3, but Kimberly is moving away immediately after the super flash.
Loved how the "He... llo... and... welcome" intro kinda synced with the Ryu combo in the beginning lmao. Love your videos man, thank you for always bringing 10/10 stuff
As a Honda main (obligatory as a Honda main sentence intro) I am looking forward to his changes. Though I feel it will not make him a legitimate threat to the top 5, I don't think the nerfs are enough to reduce his status as "most winningest character in the game" while also adding a lot of depth in neutral where he is supposed to be strong. Remember, the perfect parry anti-Honda strat is still viable.
My takeaway from guile is not that he got another meter dump combo but that he gets another way to put you fullscreen away. Probably a boost to chip gaming the enemy drive gauge.
Yea if you know like I know !that combo is too expensive to do for the little range you get from it .4 bars and a super .Theres no real zoning in this game ,so sending the opponent full screen 🤷🏽♂️ when drive rush exist is a waste of.

Oy Roofle, a "returning player" guide for SF6 seasons 2 would be awesome, a quick recap for changes to each characters for folks that dropped the game few months after release. keep on grinding!
I know Ed's new but I'm praying there's actual changes in this patch, I don't wanna potentially wait a whole year for buffs
thats the thing, he was made with season 2 in mind surely, so hes assuredly gonna be the least changed char. Hes making a fine accounting for himself so hes certainly not bad

I was really hoping they'd give Ed more than the CLP buff, but I guess he's too new for them to consider.
I was hoping they'd have Kill Rush duck under fireballs like Dudley's did in 4, or give him an overhead, which he sorely needs if he's gonna fit the boxer mold. Just a bit disappointed.
I play Juri and I forget the target combo exists as well... I have never used it so I don't really know how useful the super cancel its gonma be. Hope it gives the move some use.
If I can special cancel the Ryu target combo, it will now become my favorite combo

Well, I'm glad that wake up drive reversal's gonna be a thing, especially for those who lack a frame 1 reversal of their own. It's nice that Zangief can finally get something off his 2HP punish counter, but I do hope there's more to it than that.
Lily buff is useless in 90% of situations. They showed it on a character that lunges half screen on the blocked normal. How is this going to help me on character safe poking from midrange or basically every other character in the game with an unsafe lunge normal? Lily's st.short is one of the shortest reaching normals in the game, and even still with that combo, OD spire is probably going to be better in almost every situation aside from maybe if this works with counter hit and not punish, and you can confirm after they block an OD empowered spire into OD charge > juggle into OD empowered Spire > Level 1 or 2 Super?
They just really want to push the charge mechanic with her, when that's the reason she's so hit or miss (more often miss) in winning out games/situations. Thawk always had a wakeup reversal option, it didn't make him OP, he was still average in the best situation. Sure, in ST Thawk had no whiff animation on command grab if you used negative edge, but he still struggled. I'll take not having a true reversal option, but extend the hitbox of light DP like they did for Thawk in SF4 that let him get more combo options that didn't require meter. Lily has to burn more meter than most characters just to get a confirm into an ender. That's not a confirm into a drive rush cancel, just to end the combo. If they nerfed her cr.fierce to add this, she's in a worse spot overall.

I feel the tier list will condense a bit, but the current top tiers will not be going anywhere
The thing to remember is that they haven't released the nerfs yet.
They've only shown off buffs because that makes everyone happy. Nerfs are also on the way for overpowered or annoying characters

I really hope so, otherwise it just changes his 2HP into a slightly less damage punish option than his 5HK. I don’t need the world on gief but it would feel bad if his “big change” is essentially a sidegrade.

Excellent video as always!!!! I hope you are right about Gief bacause what we see in the trailer can be actually done in the current patch by any classic player. Just use heavy kick instead it lunch on punish counter and level 2 etc.... This is just for modern player because they don't have acces to geavy kick or wheel kick.
Hey roofle, in the ED part, the other major thing they want to show in this part is that the punish counter back throw in the corner now leave the characters much more far away, preventing a throw loop situation after a back throw in the corner

Really dropped the ball if they thought that was the "coolest" Gief change. Worried Japan continues to hate grapplers. Tons of people have had better ideas for Gief
that marisa change feels weirdly inconsequential. her lvl2 is not really a combo super, and if you really wanted to go into lvl from F.hk, you could just cancel the first hit into heavy quadriga and combo into level 2 after that, but that would only be relevant when burned out in midscreen, because there's better combos you could do when you're in burnout in corner, or when you have meter in midscreen

Oh being able to DR after cammys target combo without the OD spike finish is amazing!
I can see some nice potential with Giefs DHP. It Looks like you can also DR into some Juggling stuff. But just the Fact we got another way to go into LVL 2 actually makes the move useful now.
Notable Gief thing that wasn't mentioned about crouch heavy punch change. It allows you a "meterless" way into Level1 from drive impact and similar situations which prior you'd just have to SPD and/or burn a lot more meter.
I don't think it would work after DI, I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure this ground bounce is only on Punish Counter.
Now I still see this as an awesome buff, as I think a lot of people are seemingly forgetting the possibilities of it being used as an anti-air, and as a faster, big-damage Punish Counter option in the corner compared to F.HK.

I was waiting for this video after the universal mechanic, it looks great and I am glad that some characters has new target combos. Is super crazy but the outfit 3 is even more crazier lol
As for lily, this is nice because Normally, her lights convert into spire or dp and both burn windstocks. Now you have a light combo you can do that generates windstocks. She had a problem when fighting back she would burn her stocks, which are often best used to go in for the coinflip, or to combo in the corner.
Also... Down mk special cancels now ig? Not that its as useful as other mk into dr character since its stubby, but the option is there.
Play dhalsim. That level 3 range does look unusually far. Would be great to get a buff to it!

Those Ken changes make me very happy. They just made my combo into level 3 even better
I don’t remember using Cammy’s target combo once I learned better punishes off of Standing Fierce so that DR after the dive is most welcome.
Regarding Ed… I see it this way: since Manon will make most people regret their -4 moves, Ed can use his jab to get out even if using his crouch version with maybe just enough pushback and making the timing far more strict.
I still think Manon Lv3 should grant a medal, but glad to see she gets some buffs.
I had no idea if those drive reversal animations are new or not because I've literally never done one or had an opponent do one to me lol

Awwwww! I was hoping to see Chun's Serenity stance get some love.
As appreciative as I am for the breakdown of this crumb we really don’t know jack until the patch notes drop. It boggles my mind even further when I see people already claiming this patch to be good/bad at all. Often It could be the slightest change to the right move to change a tier list on its head or make a character a lot more fun. Also the RDR will be big. There are no top tiers with limited wake up options, Actually I believe all have some some sort of invincible reversal also. I liken this to the add of v-shift in sfv which coincided with Sim becoming a terror. As a sim main I ain’t complaining. Im glad that capcom isn’t swaying so easily on the whims of many fickle fans. This game will be around for a long time so making massive sweeping changes too early especially to a solid product is foolhardy. Although they could pump up the pace on costume development and 2 decent patches a year isn’t asking for too much.
My biggest question is regarding the Avatar in world tour, did they fixed the issue where most of your moves for said avatar's moveset is limited due to the modern controls?

As a master rank chun, seeing her able to do fw/b.mp to DR into b.hp is nice. still sucks that she's lost the ability to super cancel from fw/b.mp, but hopefully she has more buffs that's waiting to be shown.

regarding super cancel from fw/b. mp, you can still do that, you just cant hit confirm it because according to rumors, they removed the delayed cancel window on it (and so far rumors only, no confirmation). I think this 6MP DR leading into 4HP bnb launcher "buff" is just making it easier for her to corner carry with one interaction, something that ken could already do, for example. she is already good at corner carrying, though (many alternate routes in her combos that favor corner carry instead of damage you can opt-in mid combo, you dont even need to plan ahead), so I think this buff is mostly redundant, plenty other characters who need that more than her. I feel like the changes are mainly to help everybody corner carry better, somehow capcom wants people in the corner as fast as possible so the real game aka Guess In The Corner For Your Life Fighter 6 can take place. I dont think drive reversal changes will help too much with that tbh. Not keeping my hopes up for this game to become actually good anytime soon.
I hope Ed gets something really useful because, if every character get buffs and he doesn't, he is gonna sink to low tier status real quick.
Ed is already good as he is, he has loads of options, combos and damage, and he is the most recent character, he doesnt need changes already, its not just because the others that are here since launch get some changes, which by the way, some of them really needed them, that its going to make him low tier

@@butteredtoast3032i play every character at a decent level and ed is wayy too high risk medium high reward. The top 10-15 have low to medium risk (except dj with high risk) and high to very high rewards (dj, luke, marisa, rashid). If the only buff he gets is frame reduction on his super 1 or ex dp then that'd be fine, if lp dp is also frame reduced. Oherwise eh nah he's bottom 10

I very much hope they fixed Marisa’s level 2 hitbox so it actually hits opponents that’s atraight either just jump at her or jump in her face like with geif’s level 1, because it whiffs so much and legitimately can lose you a match because it doesn’t hit

Doesn't matter because it only bounces on counter hit or punish counter. It'll be an actually useful anti air though
