Also the second I plugged the resistor in with the truck off the blower motor turned on for a split second and shut off. So I’m assuming I popped the resistor again. But that also means that that plug is getting constant power somehow

Hey. I my having a serious issue with mine. Just bought this truck and it’s doing funky stuff. Was told I needed a new blower motor and resistor. The second I connect the black to black and red to red the wires get scolding hot. There’s a short somewhere I have no idea. When I ground the black to the chassis instead of back to the black wire again, the frayed wire at the end starts glowing. I can’t for the life of me find out why. Can I run power and ground directly to those wires and put it on a switch?

Add a ground wire to the blower motor, check out my other video I did with the manual hvac controls. I’ve had the same issue as you and running a ground wire to blower motor fixed that for me. But honestly, ask in the Facebook groups. They’ve been so helpful for me

The blower on my 2004 Envoy XUV does not turn off, even when the car is turned off. Is the resistor the likely problem?

Could be the switch it self
