New update adds auto slice, loop auto repitch/time stretch and sequence editing all for an extra $3. One of the best super simple beatmaking apps just got even better
the koala sampler is the only thing i use to make beats with, but than again my only other beat machine is a beat up boss dr202 lol i was stoked when i first heard about this sampler and for the price. if you don't know, you could also re sample the effects on the perform page like the compresser, reverb etc.
Honestly what you did with your voice to make a bass is one of the most powerful things about this app. The effects + piano roll can make pretty much any noise your voice makes into a full blown synth. Hands down the best piece of music software you can get for the price even if it only did that
Never tried a pad-based workflow before Koala Sampler and I didn't actually know what an SP-404 was. I got it for android right after I saw this video and it's definitely my favorite music-making app. I feel like I can make decent beats much faster in Koala than I can in a full DAW, and the fact that it's extremely mobile is a huge plus. The tutorials on this channel are also really helpful for getting started with the app and working with pad-based hardware/software in general. I'm hoping I can get to the point where I can DJ a full live set in this app like an SP404. Just wanted to say thanks for showcasing this app.
just wanna thank u for everything. your channel really inspires me on a daily basis to keep learning about this art that we hold dearly into our hearts. i wanted to suggest u to make a series about the koala sampler. i live in a place thats actually pretty rare to find sp's and mpcs so this sampler for 4 bucks can make the learning process a lot easier. nothing fancy, maybe some more knowledge on the app, beatmaking technics on its interface you know? sometimes i can find the learning process way harder so having somebody like you bringing this positive energy is really appreciated. again, thank u and shoutout from brazil!
Amazing! Just bought the app and was looking for some tutorials before I start and I came across your video. Liked, subscribed and following you on Spotify. Your beats sound amazing. 🎶🎵🎹
I just downloaded this app about 2- 3 hours ago and immediately started cookin’! The developers of this app are the best. They should be winning awards- 😃 Thanks for the tutorial. You just quickly taught me a few more new things about the app-- ESPECIALLY the Resampling feature. 🔥💯
Guys............I'm in shock. I've been desperately wanting to get a new sampler to mess with . and I FINALLY downloaded this . I've never had anything close to this many options and I'm kinda in shock
You really helped me to the MAX with this!! Now i build the ideas in koala. Then send them to GarageBand ios (all on the same devices) by the way, to finish.
I’m glad jfilt reviewed this. Been using it for 7months its a good an alternative to my sp404 when I’m away. Good for ideas, prepping chops for other equipment and linking to a Ableton 🙏🏿
Both app and the Dev are the best I have experienced so far. Even if all you use it for is chopping samples and creating great soundpacks it's more than worth the price. Add in all the other performance friendly features and you have an absolute steal here
Bro, salute to you for this one. A lot of heads are sleeping on this one and it's been around for a year lol!( I was one of those "heads"🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️) But seriously, if you make anything hip hop, especially sample based, this 4 dollar app is a must. I mean,to pit it into perspective, most people have spent more on weed.👀🤔(Those that partake) Thanks again for giving us another gift to the YT producer community. 🤙🏾✌🏾💯
Yh, sampling chopped vocals SOOOO HARD!!! I’ve been searching for dayyyys tryna find some good tips, a tutorial but NOTHING. Please @howtomakeverysickbeats help ME!!!!
I never understood why someone would take the time to review a product and not get paid for it! BUT I was told you'll get a commission. And that's why at the end of the video no matter how wack the product is.. your gonna push it! Because you know and the company knows that you have some influence on your followers ..This not an attack on you at all! RESPECT BROTHER!
for me it's mainly about sharing info and if i can get a small kickback thats fine but i would hope that no one would push a product they consider to be wack because that's something i'm against
No, I agree with you bro! Time is money. And your contribution to BEAT MAKERS/PRODUCER is unmatched. When I come to your page it really feels like you care...When It comes down to MPC tutorials/Tricks and tips. You are #1 you blow MPC tutorial. com away.. Your site feels more at home. It doesn't feel forced.
Thank you thank this video! I bought this app like 3 weeks ago and haver used it yet but I'm hyped to get rocking with it! Question though: can you do another video on exporting your sequences and compiling like, I guess, a song mode? Thanks and keeping pushing!!
BRUH... Honestly, I hadn't paid this app any attention prior to right now. Being the type of creative I am, this is BONKERS. Gonna have to put this on an iPad for sure. Thanks for the inspiration, and enough detail to warrant my future efforts. Peace...Netm8kr
JFilt you are the mfing man!!! Best $4 I’ve ever spent, the beatboxing capabilities on this are beyond comprehension. Insanely easy workflow too. Paired w the Model D app from Moog and iKaossilator I feel like I’ve transcended lmao
the sp 404 its also a digital version, because it also has a software integrated, basically the sp 404 hardware its just a midi controller build around its software hub or the program host, so now days an iphone can be 100 times more powerful then any sampler in the market, because an iphone almost has the full power of a computer, when the sp 404 for example, its just limited to its personal program…. any how great video 👍🏼 but any
Ehy, did it replace the sp404 at the end? I'm trying to understand whether to buy that roland gear or just stick with this little and powerful software. Consider I'm totally new to sequencers or samplers apart from a couple of POs I bought little time ago
Nice review. Today I was looking for an app that I could make beats with and this popped up! Two questions. Is it possible to timestretch the samples? Or can you adjust the tempo of them to make them fit to the tempo of the project? Can you use a Midi Keyboard or a MPD with it?
1 .At the time of response there's no time strectch but hopefully very soon. You can adjust tempo by adjusting pitch to make the sample fit the tempo of beat 2. Yes
im screen recording my phone instead of linking to computer to avoid the crashing trust me, i had to learn the hard way LOL. the phone will record the audio clean. im using the iphone which comes with this feature

And it's available for Android, too! I have a Galaxy Fold so this will be an actual sampler for me

But Android does not have nearly as many options as the iPhone version, unfortunately. The video sample function is not available for Android.
Koala changed so much in these 3 years but at the core it stayed the same.
Yo! I need to get that immediately! Thank you for this one

Maybe a silly question but can you upload samples from Splice on this?
you would probably have to upload the samples from splice to your phone or cloud service first
Verysickbeats thanks man. I’ll give it a shot. Respect!
I suggest getting an app called AudioCopy for uploading external samples to Koala
Is there a function similar to that choke group, in Ableton live, with launchpad?
i believe so although im not 100% since i dont use ableton at the time of this response
Guess I'll have to dig in more, btw thanks for the answer man, nice video, made me think about using this 😄
